Billzgobowlin Posted March 11, 2021 Share Posted March 11, 2021 So with seeing these cuts and how the front office is going to make decisions, they really screwed up on Murphy's contract. He is owed too much dead money on the last year of his contract. He's not tradeable this year with all these cheap alternatives and we can't cut him. He doesn't play enough to warrant his contract. Serious question tho: If he doesn’t get any decent offers as a FA, what about bringing him back as depth on a cheap 1 year deal with incentives? Except - if we cut him with the injuries and games he played - would they have signed someone else? AJ was not ready early in the season - so we needed additional DE depth. So maybe we get a small savings, but even if we bring up a guy from the PS we are talking minimal savings.
