So a super fast, physical, and aggressive front 7 is the key...

Milano is likely going to walk and the cap is going to be $5-10 million more than anyone expected. For those reasons I believe we can afford a top tier pass rusher in free agency. We can also extend Allen in a way that lowers his cap hit in 2021 and re-work a couple other contracts to do the same. There is no excuse for us going into the 2021 season with 33 year old Jerry Hughes as our #1 DE. A rookie won't cut it either. Make a splash DE signing, see if Lavonte David can be signed for a modest deal (or any OLB that can replace Milano at a competent level), and spend draft picks adding size to the o-line and speed on both sides of the ball. That's how we go from AFCCG caliber to SB caliber in a single offseason.

True. "Let's do what Tampa did with its front 7" is easier said than done.

Steve Young just pointed that out - high-powered offenses can be shut down when 4 guys are sufficient to bring pressure. But the examples of that happening were the Giants in 2012, Ravens in 2013, Broncos in 2015. And no team in the rest of the past decade.

Exactly.  Not to mention that KC was playing with 4 backup OL.

Honestly this is what beane and mcd thought they were getting this 2020 season, weapons for josh, and spend a fortune on the D line. Have an elite D and josh only needs to manage and score a few times. Instead it went opposite. On the bright side, I dont really think they can get worse, and look where we got, and star will be back. I hope that an elite LB falls to us at 30, if not go weapon for josh.

I second the linebacker part-I thought the Buc's linebackers were superb. They are much faster than the current Bills' group, can really hit, and actually make a tackle every time. Unfortunately with the cap issues, where they draft and the need for so many pieces it will take a Beane Miracle to actually cobble together a group that could win a SB against a group like the Bucs. One piece of "luck" for the Bucs was being able to add Fournette to the roster - while he probably is an A-hole he is a really top notch running back that fell into their laps due Marone's idiocy.

Bills cannot be afraid of signing guys who get cut,  Fournette got cut and we went with Moss and Singletary.  Singletary has no business  being a starting RB,  KC used the same defence tonight that they used against us.  The difference is Brady could hand off to Jones & Fournette

💯%. The refs also called the clutching , grabbing & rerouting the Chiefs were allowed to do vs the Bills.

I would take David over Milano in a heartbeat. Even if it costs more. We need to Immediately jettison a whole lot of DL. We saw tonight what a real front 7 looks like.

We saw tonight what the best front 7 in the league looks like.  If you plan on building that.....good luck

We are sadly 2 offseasons away

...😢😢😢 We are severly undermanned.

Wholeheartedly agree.  Our LBs do not get the job done and neither does our D-line.  Tampa's LB play was so superior to Buffalo.  I see no way Milano is back.

Our two most recent top picks are D-linemen.  It's time to see some consistent play from both.  I was skeptical of the Oliver pick and he's done nothing yet to prove my skepticism wrong.

The linebackers are an issue

If you couldn't see the difference in theirs and ours then you are blind

Big difference and LB'S never let him get a free release,  there was no pitch & catch.  We need to retool our defence if we really want to help Josh and getting a real NFL RB is also a must this offseason.  Fournette is a free agent,  sign him and save our picks for defensive side of the ball

After watching David shut down Kelce tonight i think Milano's agent just lost a tone of leverage,  i have no problem seeing him walk.  Both LB'S from Tampa Bay including David are free agents.  We need more play makers in the front 7 and a real RB.  Fournette is also a free agent,

This absolutely is not true. David is a free agent (though he'll almost certainly be back in Tampa), but White is in Tampa for at least 3 more years if not more.

Fournette is a free agent but he was legitimately bad all year. No doubt he came up with some big runs in the playoffs though, but his issues were still on display too. One of Brady's INTs against Green Bay was entirely on Fournette; he's a terrible pass protector for a RB. He also had many runs during this playoff run where it basically just looked like a lucky version of Trent Richardson. He'd stare directly at huge holes and instead run square into the defense before regaining his balance and bouncing it outside for big chunks of yardage.

Fournette isn't a good RB and would not be an upgrade over our current guys IMO, but he can be productive if the OLine gets as much push as this one does. He is undoubtedly a better athlete than Singletary/Moss, but he's not the guy we need. Ronald Jones was legitimately good this year, but he's another year away from free agency.

Yea, I’m down with using them as a blueprint, but most teams can’t just go build the best Front 7 in football... which is what TB has, especially with Vita Vea back.

Yup.  We can improve our DL, but there’s little chance of us putting together the best DL in the league this offseason.

As @ScottLawmentioned, maybe we can sign Lavonte David and/or Shaq barrett?  It’ll cost a ton and we’d probably have to neglect the OL to an extent.

Would be nice.  Too bad we didn’t have them this year when the chiefs started their OL B team

i think it could cost billions to get them to leave TB.

carlos basham anyone? ?

He’s nice, but the Bills immediate need is more badasses in the interior of the defensive and offensive lines. David and White are able to hunt because Suh/Vea are killing it inside
