You'd think so but what it actually does is drive wealthy people out of highly taxed states because they can't rely on those SALT deductions anymore leaving the lower and middle class holding the bag due to budget decreases.

But the objective of liberal tax policy is to give the fed more tax dollars to redistribute. Disempowering states is a side effect, but there has to be some consequences.

Im not really into tax policy to know the right answer but it seems like the rich liberal leaning states are ok raising federal taxes, just not on their constituents? Is that the movement behind eliminating the SALT cap?

I mean I live in MD and def hit that cap, I ended up paying more federal taxes Han previously, which is what thought was the liberal tax policy agenda.

and I’m not taking Dem or Rep, I’m merely advocating liberalism underpinnings are the principle that government has a greater role, conservatism tend toward state governments and individualism, or so I thought.

I will say this, the "right" and the "left" politicians all lay in the same bed. None of them are in the corner of the everyday middle American person. Trump has exposed this as the truth.

That's what I was telling these left wing ladies. You reap what you sow. And now "the chickens have come home to roost."

Yes, they have.

  • The US Congress gave a big FU to Trump by returning to the Capitol after it was cleared of Trump's domestic terrorists to confirm the election of Joe Biden as the 46th POTUS.
  • The National Association of Manufacturers has called for using the 25th Amendment to remove the POTUS, and several members of Trump's cabinet have actually discussed invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the POTUS.
  • There are discussions among Congressmen about impeaching or censuring Trump in Congress.
  • State officials are even more likely to seek to put Trump in prison after he leaves office.
  • On January  20. 2021, the President of the US will be a Democrat, the US House of Representatives will be controlled by Democrats, and the US Senate will be controlled by Democrats.

Yes i do agree these a** bags should be thrown in jail just like those a** bags in portland and Seattle should have that were trashing the capital building & the surrounding area's up there they got thrown in jail right ? Or was that the guy that was trying to protect his property after they peacefully broke through the gate on his property  🤔 I can't remember ...

Oh wait now i do that was a peaceful protest that's right and it was said to be wrong to send in police and national guard because they were just voicing their opinion's peacefully while they closed down city blocks and took over that section of the city I'm sorry i misremembered .

Add to that the evil dictator was saying they needed to send in the national guard and police to rectify the situation and restore law and order but that dictatorial action was much to harsh so that one mayor that moved out of town when they made it to her street handled that situation .

It is pretty amazing how the DC mayor's view has changed about about sending in the defunded police i wonder why ? 180

But yes they need to throw these bags in jail i agree ... 2 wrongs don't make a right .

Mulvaney resigns diplomatic post, says Trump not the same

By John Wagner

Then-acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney listens as President Trump meets with a foreign leader in the Oval Office of the White House in March. (Jabin Botsford/The Washington Post)

Mick Mulvaney, Trump’s former acting chief of staff, said Thursday he is resigning from his current post as a special envoy to Northern Ireland in the wake of the “international travesty” that took place at the Capitol on Wednesday.

During an appearance on CNBC, Mulvaney said Trump is “not the same as he was eight months ago” and suggested the violence at the Capitol could have been avoided if Trump had pledged an orderly transition weeks ago.

“I called [Secretary of State] Mike Pompeo last night to let him know I was resigning,” Mulvaney said. “I can’t do it. I can’t stay.”

His decision comes as several other officials have also resigned, and many others are weighing whether to leave the administration.

“Those who choose to stay, and I have talked with some of them, are choosing to stay because they’re worried the president might put someone worse in,” Mulvaney said.

He argued that Trump is behaving differently now than he did during Mulvaney’s tenure as his acting chief of staff.

“Most of us — almost all of us except I guess the people who are in the inner circle right now — didn’t sign up for what you saw last night,” Mulvaney said, referring to the violence at the Capitol on Wednesday.

Trump’s ‘entire legacy was wiped out yesterday,’ new Republican congresswoman says

By Marisa Iati

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.). (Mace Campaign)

Newly elected Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (S.C.) said Wednesday’s siege on the U.S. Capitol erased what she views as Trump’s accomplishments.

“Everything that he’s worked for … all of that, his entire legacy, was wiped out yesterday,” Mace told CNN on Thursday, four days after being sworn into office.

Mace said she sent her children home from D.C. on Monday after seeing concerning social media discussion of plans for the rally. She placed partial blame for Wednesday’s violence on Trump and some of her colleagues in Congress.

“When you speak like that, when you incite this kind of violence, rhetoric has real consequences,” Mace said.

Asked about reports that senior administration officials are considering invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office, Mace repeatedly declined to endorse that move. Instead, she called on her colleagues to stop calling the presidential election “rigged.”

“Now is not the time to be talking about that,” Mace told CNN. “The weeks leading up to this have led to this violence, and it needs to end.”

Gee, thanks.

And here I was under the impression that the Democrats just took control of the White House and the Senate in addition to the House.

And if the Colts beat the Bills this weekend we should still have a parade for our "winners." As defined by you.

Yeah........

We have seen what 4 years of that serial lying idiot's rule has brought us.

America sure looked great again yesterday in the eyes of the world.

Brain washed, Trumptards can't fact-check or read worth a damn.

Don't see Don the Con using them as cannon fodder to act out his petty tantrum at losing at the polls.

The good news is that there are slightly more intelligent people out there that do read, that do fact check, that can smell an Executive branch power-grab with overt acts of obstruction, intimidation and petty reprisal tactics, and who were chilled to the bone at GOP and DOJ willing subservience to that effort over their constitutional duties.

Those true patriots rallied to vote him OUT. Do you really think Biden won with a record number of votes because he is THAT charismatic.

Go back to the echo-chamber of the loud and ignorant minority.

Portrait of some of the "winners" in yesterday's clownish insurrection:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/man-who-posed-at-pelosi-desk-said-in-facebook-post-that-he-is-prepared-for-violent-death/2021/01/07/cf5b0714-509a-11eb-83e3-322644d82356_story.html

In a Dec. 28 Facebook post on the Patton page, Barnett announced he would be attending Wednesday’s rally and urged fellow Arkansans to make sacrifices to join him there. “This is OUR COUNTRY!!!,” he wrote. “Can you give one day from the Internet or work or whatever to be active.” He added, “Get the f--- up people. Please STAND!!! If not now, when?”

In the post, Barnett expressed disappointment that past political events he had attended had attracted only a “small handful” of people. Ten days earlier, he had posted photographs of himself and a few others protesting the election result outside the Capitol building in Little Rock, Ark. Barnett posed for one picture holding a rifle.

In a separate post the same day, Barnett wrote that he “came into this world kicking and screaming, covered in someone else’s blood,” adding, “I’m not afraid to go out the same way.” The post was accompanied by a selfie of Barnett with a rifle strapped to his chest. He was wearing a polo shirt bearing on one sleeve a pro-police “Blue Lives Matter” flag logo.

Barnett later shared a link to a speech that Vice President Pence gave on Dec. 22 to a conservative group’s convention in West Palm Beach, Fla., at which Pence pledged “to keep fighting until every illegal vote is thrown out.”

Barnett has organized fundraising events for the police department in Sulphur Springs, Ark., near Gravette, according to his Facebook accounts and an October article in the Westside Eagle-Observer newspaper. The article said Barnett presented the department with a check to fund the purchase of body cameras for officers after raising money at a “Back The Blue” rally and auction.

Sulphur Springs police chief Jarod Morgan, who was photographed by the newspaper accepting the check from Barnett, did not respond to messages on Wednesday evening.

Also in October, Barnett helped to raise more than $1,000 for “Save Our Children,” an anti-child-trafficking campaign, according to another article in the Eagle-Observer. Facebook limited the use of the national campaign’s hashtag because it found that content tied to the campaign was associated with the QAnon conspiracy theory, which entails false allegations about child abuse among the global elite.

Will folks stop with the moronic mantra of "socialist" blah...blah

If you send your kids to public school, think its ok for grandpa or that widow to get a social security check, if you are banking on affording your medical bills after you retire leveraging Medicare and Medicaid, then you should realize that this country already has deeply ingrained and widely-supported social welfare policies.

Socialism is when our government takes over and runs private industry which is often confused with social welfare and regulation.

Just parroting the rhetoric that campaigning GOP folks stick in your mouth is not the smartest move. It is just the way they use certain words to manipulate your emotions and votes.

Both parties need better fiscal policies that both invest in our nation's people and future, but demand accountability that those investments are effective.

Mid-30s pool boy/girl:

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/woman-shot-capitol-riots-trump-b1783781.html

The husband of Ashli Babbit, the 35-year-old Donald Trump supporter who was shot dead while attempting to storm the US Capitol on Wednesday, has praised her as a “great patriot”.

The pair reportedly ran a swimming pool maintenance business together in Spring Valley, California.

And we don't really even know the back stories of the other 3 who apparently dropped dead of "medical events" yesterday, but something tells me you're not gonna find that they were real estate magnates living in plush hotel suites like their savior. Over/under on their combined weight?
