How does he rank in terms of Bills kickers over the past 30 years? Probably one of the best? the best?

He is #6. I left out a lot of single year kickers.

Before I get to Hauschka's retirement, I must say ***** You to both Henry Anderson and his wife.  Anderson's cheap shot was bad enough, but then his wife piled on by taunting Hauschka's injury on twitter.  ***** You both and the horses you rode in on.

This is a sad day for me.  Hau$ch Money was a phenomenal kicker with a phenomenal leg before Anderson destroyed his career.  Whenever Hau$ch came out, you just knew the kick was going through, especially for the clutch kicks.  You can also say "what might have been", because Hau$ch was destined to be one of the GOAT's for placekickers (yeah, I seddit!).  Dude was an 87-90% kicker before the injury, then dropped to 78% in his last two years for the Bills.  All the best to Stephen Hauschka and his family, and farewell, Hau$ch Money.

Cheers to you, Haus $$$.

Indeed, Stephen Hauschka has always impressed me as a person. He was a very good player in his prime, and a class act off the field. He and his wife started the adoption thing (and it was really cool to see the Beane's take over that when he left) to give back to the community in a very unique and meaningful way. He seems like a great father. Football gave him a wonderful career opportunity for 12 years, has now given him the opportunity to be a great father and opened doors to make wherever he lives, a better place for his neighbors. Good for you Haus $$$  THANK YOU! And enjoy this new stage of life to its fullest. You've earned it.

I don’t remember the details, but wasn’t an NHL player suspended until the injured player was able to return to the game after a horribly egregious dirty play? It may have even been in court rather than the league. Details are fuzzy. I kinda liked that approach, though not terribly practical here.

Thanks for all you did for us, sir. Little tip.......stay in shape for a few more weeks in case some kicker gets hurt. You just never know!

Good call.  That was the "Bertuzzi Incident".  That ended up essentially costing the player a career, $500,000 in lost earnings and criminal charges in British Columbia.

Look at Josh's eyes when they kicked that field goal~ those were not hungry eyes those were sleepy eyes

It was overdue....sadly, whatever effects he suffered after that cheapshot he took in the Jets game never were going to get corrected and it sapped him of his leg strength. He held on by a thread last year, forcing McDermott to have to punt from inside the opponent 40 yard line for than any other team in the NFL, but there was no way we could put ourselves at that big of a disadvantage this year before the ball was kicked off even.  It's why Bass would have had to be God awful to have lost the job and why I kind of snickered to myself that Hauschka was seen as the incumbent.  In all honesty, Haushcka never really even had a shot this year at retaining the job here, not with his leg strength gone.

His attempt at a career resurrection in Jacksonville was very say...missed a 24 yarder and was WAY short on a 49 yarder that barely made it to the front of the endzone.

honestly, there’s a good chance he was on his last legs even without the hit. I’m not trying to send a Christmas card to the dude that hit him or saying he’s absolved of being an ass for the hit... but I think we can only truly blame him for the short term impact not a career ended

That graph was really cool.  I didn’t realize how accurate Carpenter was while here. Everyone retires from professional sports at some point, but was a great teammate while here.

This was a great chart. When the board here was crushing Bass, I wanted to post how bad Joe Danelo was. 18 for 36 for the 23 games. Could you imagine if Bass had done that?? Talk about something to complain about!
