I'd argue it hasn't. Cool they played a 60 game shell of a season that no one will ever consider to be a legitimate championship. Big old asterisk next to that one.

There is no reason to suspend the season. Stretch it out sure, but putting it on hold does nothing.

It's not been a good season. Baseball depends much more on the summer long unfolding plot, and is much more driven by in-person attendance. All of that was lost.

But it's been a fair season. The 4 teams that are left are 4 of the 6 (or so) objectively best teams. So the idea that some flukey team would steal a World Series by getting hot at the right time isn't happening.

I just think a 14 game season with roughly the same schedules that were contemplated and the same playoff structure is better than one in which certain teams are more harmed than others. Admittedly this is because I see what's happening as a bad thing for the Bills -- in this rare season in which we are objectively one of the best teams, I want the NFL schedule overall to be as fair as possible, and I want the NFL to make all efforts to get in full playoffs and a Super Bowl.

Roger Goodell and the entire NFL look like a bunch of friggin clowns right now. How does a multi Billionaire league that had 6 months to prepare for this not have a legit plan/flow chart laid out for this already?

Morons.....

Everything is on the fly.  There is no, "if this happens, we do this" set of guidelines.

I mean, a pandemic is interfering with the season.  Who could have foreseen that?  (that's my best sarcasm, btw)

Of all things the leagues cares about I'd put this at 2nd to last. Right above forcing games to happen no matter the impact to players, coaches or their families.

Are you kidding?  You know how many millions of dollars FF generates for the NFL?  And I have Josh Allen as my QB.  Championship!!!

And the NFL needs to colonize Saturday.

I don't care about college football. If they need schedule flexibility, Saturday -- hell, even Friday night -- is far preferable to Thursdays and Tuesdays. If Ohio State thinks they can compete against the NFL for ratings let them play on Sunday. I don't understand how we got to this situation.

I see that and it's a piss poor idea. Flow charts are really a simple thing if this or not this,  then this.

You need to have a plan with built in contingency plans. I'd assume a league with revenue as big as the NFL would have hired an entire team of specialist for this matter.

If the NFL goes to winning percentage that further rewards the Titans with missing games against the Steelers and Bills.

That’s why there needs to be a punishment

even if titans get the L and the other teams don’t count it still hurts them for causing the issue

If they made the decision today then its not too late to play the Chiefs on Thursday.  They would have the same time to prepare as they always would have in a normal season.

In terms of days elapsed, I guess that's true, but in terms of advanced planning and how the planning is scheduled, I think it's a late call

I will say, if there's a staff that would be "on it" and "steady as she goes" for all contingencies, I think that would be ours

I think this a pretty poor take. While I admit that my confidence in the NFL is not particularly high, it's ridiculous to think that there is not next-level planning.

Everything is not on the fly, and while they're operating based on new information as new information comes in, that's how decisions should be made.

Just because the general public isn't aware of the plans that the NFL has (and why would we be privy to every detail of a business, it's not like Target has their COVID contingency plan out for the public to see at all times) doesn't mean there is no plan.

It's so funny how the psychology of being a fan v. a consumer works. Fans react so emotionally to everything, it's quite funny.

They are precluded from broadcasting on Fridays and Saturdays until December.

I'm officially shocked that there aren't announcements on both Bills-Titans and Chiefs-Bills in advance of the 12:00 pregame shows.

Gotta figure they’re runnin’ around League HQ like chickens with their heads cut off.

i just hope they don’t forget that discipline must be meted out.

32 teams and only 2 are causing havoc.
