Message added by Hapless Bills Fan

Please keep discussion in this thread narrowly focused on football and directly football-related issues.

Two Bills Drive no longer finds it appropriate to engage in COVID-19 discussion in our main discussion areas. We are a Buffalo Bills fan community and we exist to serve fans of the Buffalo Bills and the NFL. Please use other communities and venues to discuss heath-related topics including COVID-19.

Information about COVID-19 is available from many globally respected sources including:

Uptodate     |  British Medical Journal Best Practice   |      COVIPENDIUM    |    Our world in Data

The pinned topic: COVID-19 - Facts and Information Only Topic, located on the Off the Wall subforum, is also a resource.   Should these not meet your needs, many other sources of information (of varied accuracy) exist.

Thank you!

I think more Titans have tested positive.

Right now there is almost no way they play in Tennessee next Sunday.

I saw one article that said the only way they play next weekend is if there are no more positives after the ones they got today. If just one tests positive tomorrow or during the week, the game will be postponed/cancelled.

There were new positive tests today, Sunday.

I think that means Tennessee can't open up and practice until (right now) Wednesday!

If someone tests positive tomorrow, it would be moved to Thursday.

At some point they will not be able to play our game due to not enough preparation time.

On top of this, we play on Thursday the following week!

There may not be a lot of flexibility in re-scheduling.

I'm honestly wondering right now if we will play a football game next week.

They are going to get hit sooooooo hard by the league if they prove any violations of protocols.

Im not sure I want a bye week already for us even with KC being next up after. Prep time ain’t helping stop them. We need to shoot it out and hope to come out on top.

I wonder how early we will know about this game? If we know tomorrow that we have a bye Sunday, fine. But I really don’t want to get all geared up and find out Friday we aren’t playing.

I think we will know before Friday...and probably at some point tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest.

I really hope the game gets played.  I really don’t think the league wants the same team causing this 2 weeks in a row.

I’d like to hope the game is played. But I also want buffalo protected as well as possible. If we gotta take a bye to keep the team covid free so be it.

Selfishly I agree. realistically I'm fine either way, as I know you are too.

I wouldn't be surprised if the league as a whole, takes a week off and reconfigures the remaining schedule. Maybe with league wide byes built in every 4 or 5 weeks here on out

I would be surprised if they did all of that for 1 team out of 32

1 team having issues for multiple weeks sure makes things very tough.  They can't let the Titans get multiple games played behind the rest of the league.

It’s not about Prep , it’s about health.

If we get our banged up guys rested and ready and pullout a win because of the extra time off it would have serious playoff ramifications.
This game is the biggest game in AFC seeding regards, followed by Pittsburgh IMO.

This would be a huge blessing for us.
I would Not be surprised if we didn’t get more weeks off as the season progresses. Covid numbers are going in the wrong direction as people are starting to spend more time inside . This will effect the league unless they bubble the teams.

In terms of creative scheduling, I could see them moving BUF/TEN to Monday or Tuesday night, and then swapping the KC/BUF Thursday night game with one of the Sunday games.  FOX has the doubleheader that weekend, with a single game (GB/TB) in the late slot.  TB plays on Thursday this coming week, so playing again on Thursday isn't a big deal.  Green Bay has a bye week next week.

The Chiefs already have 3 games in 10 days, so there is an argument to punting the Thursday game off to Sunday for competitive reasons.  It also allows FOX to feature Mahomes in the late slot on Sunday which will be a ratings grab.
