My gut instinct throughout this whole Trump/Russia ordeal was that Trump wasn't competent enough to collude with Russia so it was likely a "democratic hoax."  It's a horrible look for the FBI, Hillary Clinton, and the media that pushed this.  I do wish more people were aware of the extent to how effed up this was.

Most interesting was that the CIA knew in September 2016 that Russian intelligence knew back in August of 2016 abut the Clinton campaign teams plot and actions to present Trump as a Russian agent/asset. 

 

That the CIA did not inform Federal law enforcement or election officials of the Clinton campaign's illegal activities is telling.  And begs an explanation.  Why didn't the CIA inform the FBI which armed with this knowledge would have most likely shut down the investigation into Trump?   Sadly, expect none. 

 

But bigger is how did Russian intelligence know details about Clinton campaign activities?   Did they have sources inside the DNC or the Clinton campaign?  Did FusionGPS and Steele feed Russian agents with information from their meetings with the campaign on the dossier and the plan?  Or in reverse, did Russian intelligence feed Steele misinformation about Trump?  Was the entire Russia Hoax to discredit Trump a misdirection effort to distract from the true Russian objective of "helping" Clinton get elected?  Lots of questions but dead ends based on the report.

 

Unfortunately, the Durham investigation didn't drill down into these connections and relationships to get to the origins of the entire narrative and plot.

This isn’t about political party. Although on the surface it appears to be. Donald Trump didn’t need to be taken down because he was a Republican. He needed to be eliminated because he was an outsider. this…. What this report really demonstrates is the deep state isn’t some mythical vast secret conspiracy. It’s an overt self fulfilling prophecy. All these bloated bureaucracies have one purpose- self preservation and stealing as much tax money as they can to grow their empires. Just like most every other company they are extremely political organizations too and have very transactional relationships with the politicians and the levers of power. 
 

it is part and parcel why big central government inherently flawed, inevitably destined for authoritarianism (the quiet kind or the overt kind).  The only mitigation  is division of power.

This isn’t complicated. The Democrats know how this game is played. Schumer warned Trump not to mess with the Police state. The government agencies are no different than anyone else. They have one mission, and that’s to expand their department in budget and staff. It’s their currency. They are NOT public servants. Durham (and Mueller) performed a thorough and comprehensive investigation and found no proof of anything.  Instead, proof of a manufactured conspiracy by the Clinton campaign.  What I expect to follow will be dozens of civil suits against various actors from DNC and Clinton campaign.  And they won't be filed in the Southern District of NY or in the District of Columbia. Flushing all those cockroaches out of the dark and into the light of the truth will breath some fresh air into our democracy.

 

But if you want to then stick to the playbook.  Never admit you're wrong no matter how overwhelming the evidence and facts produced by two independent DOJ investigations each around 2 years long.

I don’t recall ever having said any of those things. I pretty much figured it’d be a simple finding of facts …at best. Durham never seemed like a drama guy to me.  None of what you just said however changes the fact that your entire world just crumbled.
