Not sure how I feel right now, I'm torn on taking them up on them up on it and hoping to go to games if it is safe to go in September (although i doubt it) Hopefully we have some more time to decide. So it may be a moot point. That's certainly one possibility. I'll be surprised if games happen on time, if at all. I see the AAA baseball season has just been terminated. We are heading into Round 2 of Covid 19 and its a lot worse than Round 1. I’ll be a little miffed if that decision is forced on us without any plan to review. How are we getting equivalent seats, will we get all games, how will that be determined, etc? Makes it hard to justify going to a bills game - especially with a family that relies on me to be out and about. Today the government extended this rule from mid July to August 31st. There’s speculation that the rule may get extended to the spring. This makes it even less likely Canadians will be at games this year, what a downer. I floated this possibility on the forums a few months back, and the consensus seemed to be I was over reacting. Unfortunately I may have been correct. But I see a lot of folks talking about the “second wave” in the fall, but I’m not certain much of the country has experienced or cleared the “first wave”. If things keep on the current trend, this season will look completely different, if not cancelled altogether (to your point). They are doing limited spot checks. The fines are insane. Canada is doing a lot better than the U.S. is overall with a coronavirus... you would think, if anything, the NFL would open the games up to ONLY Canadian fans... heh. Maybe then it becomes palatable to have fans? FWIW, i will keep my tickets no matter what, and hope we get some games in and get credits for the ones, if any, i am not able to attend per the Bills. My bigger fear is they have fans, but only allow fans from NYS to attend. How much information are we going to get before opting in or out? I can’t imagine they will have a whole lot of clarity with seating capacities. I’ll be interested in what we actually agree to by opting in. If I’m getting moved to worse seats how is that being handled? How are they chopping games between season ticket holders? This will become a game of musical chairs. They will also need to deal with different prices of seats - those with expensive seats moved to less expensive will expect credits. The Bills have already said any Canadian STHers can opt out with no loss of seniority. I already paid for 2020 so I'll just wait it out. For example I have two seats, the four to my left are STH, six in front of us are STH, and four behind us is a STH who sells every game on secondary market. Most of us will have to move around, I just hope they release details of how that would likely be handled before I have to make a decision one way or the other. I’m kinda screwed anyways cuz I’m in Canada, but we have 5 season tickets. Depending on how they allocate games if they have 50% attendance for example, people will complain about which games they got and how many seats they got, and where they were seated. It won’t be fun to handle that in the administrative team. I gotta say though that they are a class act - i called my account manager maybe 2 months back and asked what they would do with Canadian seat holders and I was told at that time that they would allow me to skip the year without penalty. I emailed my STH rep just a week or two ago after the Giants announcement, and she told me if we opted out, we could preserve our seniority, but NOT our exact seats. I’m glad they went this way, and I don’t see how it won’t become the norm league wide. Not just for safety’s sake, but all the people hit with job losses and furloughs. I’m on a partial furlough this summer, and while we are fortunate enough to get by OK even with the furlough, it’s still $200/month I’m glad to not have to spend. I have NHL season tickets in Canada and they were giving us the choice but they were also giving incentives if we were agreeing to take the credit. They can just ID everyone at the gate, out of state ID means no entry to the stadium, and it’s not illegal to do so. So anyone purchasing those tickets may get jammed up, and have no recourse.
