Just about every time Trump has pontificated about any sort of timeline to do with Covid19, he's been way off. He does appear to be learning a bit though, as he has couched it as 'hope to' rather than 'for sure', and he isn't being committed. About the only chance there is, imho, of the NFL starting on time, is if there is either an effective treatment available, or a vaccine - neither of which is currently likely to be available due to the need for testing, and then mass production. If they wanted to play in empty stadia, that might be possible, or perhaps with very limited crowds, so social distancing can be maintained, then that's about the only other viable alternative I can see. You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, some folks hate the president so much they are not interested in hope. Sadly, a lot of people are suffering. Fortunately, the country is coming together in ways it hasn't done in most of our lifetimes. It's an amazing time to be encouraging and helpful and hopeful. But some just prefer to put that energy into hate.
