They have to know that once this reaches the senate, witness testimony will be much different and their chances of winning are about zero since the jury of senators will vote in a partisan fashion and the case itself will be historically weak. So what's their calculus? That being able to say the President was impeached and that Republicans obstructed a just outcome and having it amplified by media will be a politically winning strategy? I suppose that's better than having to oppose an incumbent with a weak candidate and a good economy, but they will certainly rile up opposition voters like never before. they totally lost their ***** when Hillary was bounced by The People, and they still can't get over it, and they won't even begin to try to get serious about the 2020 election either you must have people like this in your life? intelligent but no motivation to do anything useful for themself or another person.... They can’t prove intent now — yet they go anyway. Why? They’re terrified and it’s their only play. It won’t work the way they wish. The kicker is that they did prove intent. The level of intent required was negligence and there's no way in hell to deny she was, at the very least, negligent. I didn't have any desire to see her go to prison, but anyone else who did what she did would have.

B-Man
Democrats offering passion over proof in Trump impeachment The Hill [DC], by Jonathan Turley Original Article Impeachment Is Slowly Destroying Democrats’ 2020 Political Hopes by Mollie Hemingway Original Article Democratic efforts to impeach President Donald Trump were supposed to help them politically in 2020. In moments of unguarded honesty, a few Democrats admitted as much publicly, saying the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet. (Video) It’s a great example of how this particular impeachment push keeps backfiring on Democrats. They claim, without evidence, that Trump was trying to get Ukraine to meddle in the 2020 election by asking for their cooperation in investigating Ukrainian efforts to meddle in the 2016 election.

B-Man
THE PEASANTS ARE REVOLTING House Speaker Nancy Pelosi charged the House Judiciary Committee with the preparation of articles of impeachment against President Trump yesterday. From the perspective of the Star Tribune editors, it’s probably the biggest news of the day. The AP story touting it sits at the top left of the Star Tribune home page (“Democrats say Trump impeachment charges must come swiftly”). Readers, however, seem to be pursuing other interests. Below is a screenshot of the Star Tribune’s top five most read online stories as of 5:45 a.m. (Central) this morning. The tragic loss of three members of the Minnesota National Guard in the helicopter accident yesterday afternoon comes in at number 1; it is featured in the center column of the home page. We see in the number 2 most read story that Twins fans continue to wait till next year. News of Trump’s prospective impeachment does not make the top 5. It’s almost funny. . 2

Bob in Mich
I understand why Trump lies defending himself. He is guilty and needs to deny his actions in order to avoid impeachment. I understand why the Republican Senators and Congressmen lie defending Trump. The Trump supporters will work to defeat them in their next election if they oppose him. I understand why the right leaning media lies to defend Trump. They are trying to mold public opinion to maintain Trump voter support as well as to bump their ratings. I don't understand the reasoning behind why folks in message board discussions lie to defend Trump. Why do you folks repeat lies in these discussions just to deflect or to avoid admitting obvious points? Now, if you honestly don't know you are repeating lies that is one matter and of course is understandable. I am asking those in these conversations that just lie and throw out chaff to avoid answering 'incriminating' questions, what are you gaining in exchange for compromising your personal integrity? B-Man
Donald Trump was elected to break the elite. Of course they want to impeach him. “Trump’s supporters have known since election night that this day would eventually come. After all, his sworn enemies have been openly promising it since before he was sworn into office! They’ve used words like ‘resistance,’ ‘coup,’ ‘insurance policy,’ and ‘impeachment’ so often that, now that they are actually doing it, the American people — and Republicans especially — are offering a collective yawn.” .

An issue like this should emphasize reflection on the evidence and, if the evidence merits it, a reluctant decision to remove a president. The Democrats want to create a propaganda barnstorming spectacle, using their wormtongue's in the media to bully and/or brainwash the masses into a flippant exercise of gross injustice, ignorant of potential dire consequences. Like the other day in some thread, you said something like, The Ukraine got their money before 9/30, so what's the problem?
