Gatorade & similar are good for general electrolyte/mineral maintenance. Centrum also contains trace minerals and vitamins that are not present in electrolyte solutions. A good diet is typically adequate for the latter. Btw - a good electrolyte solution can be made from lemon juice, lime juice, and sugar free coconut water. I feel like I have really bad shin splints and my forearms are burning out just typing at work. The nurse I spoke with told me to take 250 mg's of magnesium a day, eat a banana and drink a Gatorade after a workout. I failed to mention earlier that I've been cutting weight too. I have a tournament I'm competing in August 3rd and need to lose about 15 more lbs. With me cutting weight, I don't take in much sodium.... I drink a big cup of 50/50 water-Pedialyte every morning and evening during the summer. Especially on days where I’m out and about in the heat. I suppose you have a better chance at redirecting your fall from 20,000 feet although there is some luck involved. Remember a story of a pilot whose parachute failed but able to find updraft to slow him down and he redirected landing into farm rather than hitting rocky area.
