Tennessee Titans lead series 28-17-0

Already underdogs on their home turf, the Buffalo Bills have received at least one early-week advantage on the Tennessee Titans.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Titans have lost starting safety Kenny Vaccaro for several weeks after he was injured on Sunday.

BILLS (1-3)

5

Previous rank: No. 27

If Bills fans wanted to crawl into a hole Sunday -- perhaps a hole in one of those cheddar blocks adorning the heads of Packer Backers -- you can't blame them. To review, Buffalo was shut out in Lambeau. On the season, Josh Allen has outrushed LeSean McCoy by a healthy margin. The wide receivers are the sorriest outfit in the league right now. Allen couldn't even muster 5 yards per throw Sunday, even though the Packers' defense quit attacking and let him complete throws late (clock ball). Meanwhile, Green Bay rushed for 141 yards. These aren't exactly the LombardiPackers, fueled by the power sweep. Alright, I'll stop. If you think I'm being hard on the Bills ... well, not as hard as some Buffalo folk.

Bills sign CB Dontae Johnson

With Buffalo’s cornerback position dealing with a couple of nicked up players, the Bills added to their ranks on the 53-man roster Tuesday, signing free agent CB Dontae Johnson.

Johnson (6-2, 200) was most recently with the Seattle Seahawks.

He was on the team’s injured reserve list with a groin injury, but was released after reaching an injury settlement last week.

To make room on the roster for Johnson the Bills released defensive end Nate Orchard.

Bills Today: Where Beuerlein sees Josh Allen's season going

“I still think Josh Allen is the cream of the crop as far as long-term potential of his class goes,” Beuerlein said. “I love the guy. But he is also going to be the guy that I think you are going to see more of these [games] than the others… I do think he’s going to get it figured out as the year goes along.”

I would just like to see some cohesion on offense. I know this OL hasn't played together for very long but at some point they gotta get things down well enough so they aren't allowing a rusher to hit Allen .04 seconds after the snap.

Establish the run, take some shots with the play action. And obviously, hope the defense can create turnovers and short fields. Same formula that beat Minnesota, likely the only formula they can use to compete right meow.

Bills safety Rafael Bush did not practice Wednesday because of a shoulder injury and is considered day-to-day. Bush was expected to replace Micah Hyde (groin, week-to-week) in the starting lineup Sunday. If neither can play, expect the Bills to start rookie Siran Neal opposite Jordan Poyer.

Week 5: Coffee With the Coach Presented by Tim Hortons

Chris Brown sits down with Head Coach Sean McDermott for this week's Coffee With the Coach presented by Tim Hortons. They discuss establishing the line of scrimmage, his thoughts on Tennessee Titans, and a fan asks coach a question via Twitter.

Williams: 'We're all putting a lot on the line for a win'

Despite the beatdown at Lambeau, defensive tackle Kyle Williams joined Mike Schopp and the Bulldog for his regular visit on Buffalo Bills Football Monday.

Here is some of what the 13-year veteran had to say:

Williams on the team's goal each week:

"Defensive coaches came up with a baseline goal [of 17 points or less]. It probably comes from studies on what gives you the best chance to win."

Williams on his fumble recovery:

"There was another guy trying to grab it.  It might have been our guy, but you never know when you're down there in a pile... Pile etiquette is just trying to get the ball. There's some not-so-nice stories. They can be limited only by your imagination."

Williams on giving it all:

"We're all putting a lot on the line for a win. You're all putting it on the line for that football, and you don't know what might come out of you."

Williams on being a defensive tackle:

"The tough thing with the position that I play is that there are plays that even if you play your block right, you're very rarely a factor on outside runs."

Williams on the big picture:

"In the long run, we don't talk about this loss ruining anything.  It's a clear sign of a lack of execution and preparation. We don't have the luxury of riding the roller coster of whether we're good or not."

Bills have 18-percent chance of making playoffs

After Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, the playoffs seem to be the furthest thing from the minds of many who follow and analyze the Buffalo Bills. The team faltered all afternoon, failing to make any sort of positive headway against the NFC North foe. At 1-3, the playoffs could be just a pleasant mirage for Bills fans.

However, there is still a chance. After all, this is why we tune in Sunday afternoons.

Buffalo could take a large step forward in their pursuit of the playoffs with a victory Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, who play in the AFC as opposed to Buffalo’s last two opponents. If the Bills falls to 1-4, though, they could be two games behind divisional leaders in the AFC East, depending on how games play out Sunday.

I've got news for Allen, he's going to make those mistakes again.  Aaron Rodgers telegraphed a pass to Ryan Lewis that should have been a pick 6 if the guy could catch a cold.   Mistakes happen.  He needs to learn to throw 3tds and 275yds a game in order to offset the mistakes.

I think Allen was more talking his mindset on it rather than stating a statistical fact.
