Sal .C: Giants Really Like Darnold

Could you imagine Miami coming in and doing what the Jets did to move up for one of the QBs, when will NE get into the mix so we for sure would have all 6 gone before we move up or get nothing at 12. AFCE would be all set at QB for many years, except of course the Bills. What a off season, could end up a epic fail on the Bills after all this moving..

I couldn’t until today.  Watch those sneaky guys.

I've been mentioning this as well.  I truly believe that the Browns will move up to have back to back picks.  They want their QB and Barkley.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Let's just work this out 3 ways.  The Giants tell the Browns if they take Barkley then Darnold is gone, forcing the Browns hand at one.  With Barkley spoken for the Browns can entertain a trade at 4, moving back to 12, picking up 22 & 65 in the process.  A value chart "win" move equivalent to adding an extra high 2.  Now that the Giants know QBs would go 2 - 3, they can trade with us down to 4, pick up #53 / #96 / 2019 3rd, a huge win for the Giants as they get the exact player they want while adding capital.

So we trade #12 / #22 / #53 / #65 / #97 / 2019 3rd to get to 2, but have both our 1st and 2nd in 2019, plus #56

The Browns likely get an impact defensive player at 12, not Chub, but potentially Ward or Fitzpatrick, plus have picks 22 / 33 / 35 / 64 /65

Giants get Barkley and picks 53 / 97 / 2019 3rd

Everyone goes home happy.

Love it. Good work man.

It wouldn't be crazy if Saquon has the Giants and Browns locked up.  Both teams want him, the Giants are bluffing the Browns hard that the QB they want won't make it 4, but they also know Saquon won't make it to 4.    If Browns go QB at 1, the Giants just take Barkley and go home happy, unless they can find a away to drop to 4 and still get Barkley.  If the Browns take Barkley, the Giants shop the pick for a kings ransom as it's the #1 QB, meanwhile the Browns are forced to live with potentially their 3rd QB choice after they went 0-16.

Im coming to terms with the fact that the BILLS again are going to be just out of range to grab a top guy this year.  I really think theyre going with Jackson or Rudolph now. Plus I think our dance partner chose to dance with nyj.

The Browns know the key to their future is QB. They are not taking Barkley at #1.

No, I think the love for Darnold is real.  I think he wowed some folks today in nasty conditions.

Yea, this thing is over. Darnold threw we'll in heavy rain. He's still IMHO the #1 qb. Cleveland will pick him. The deal will have to be with NYG. I'm hoping it's for Rosen or Mayfield. I do not want Allen.

In my opinion which means nothing, i will be very surprised if any team trades out of top 5.

1.) Darnold- browns

2.) Rosen-giants

3.) Mayfield-jets

4.) Barkley-browns

5.) Allen-broncos

Could very well be.  But Sheft knows something.   Just seems like something is brewing.

Man, could y'all imagine that if the Giants pick Barkley, that he and Elliot would be in the same division.  Those games twice a year would be nice to see.

The beaten down Bills fan in me believes that.  But people who know things keep saying we are trading up.  I think we end up picking at 2 or 4. It would not shock me if teams truly view Barkley as a transcendent player and he's either going 1 or 2.  If Barkley is gone before the Browns pick at 4, I think they shop the pick hard with 2 QBs still on the board and the best players (Nelson / Chubb) fitting spots they are actually good at.

I could see the Browns trading with the Giants to get up to #2 and then drafting Darnold/Barkley back to back.

It's John Dorsey, Eliot Wolf, and Alonzo Highsmith. Not happening.

Nobody truly knows.  The Bills have done an AMAZING job keeping their intent hidden.  All anyone knows is something is brewing.  Shefty will be the one to break it though.  I believe that 100%.  He knows something, but never alludes without certainty.   But I’m telling you guys, something is definitely in the works.

I’m bracing myself for Browns, Giants and Jets to take QBs at 1, 2 and 3.

That's the nightmare scenario for the Bills, 4 QB's and Barkley go in the top 5 picks. That leaves the Bills holding the bag as far QB's go.

You just don't punt on QB last year, come out and say your target is this year, acquire the picks we've acquired, trade Tyrod before FA opens, not even bid on Cousins or Keenum and play the waiting game on the last semi credible guy remaining if it's even a remote possibility you end up with Mason Rudolph at #12.

God I hope not.  Not a good look for these guys.  But Jackson at 12 is interesting.  But watch those Dolphins.  They’re up to something too.

If Giants take a QB and Bills missed the only chance to trade up at 3 then this front office is never going to live that down if these QB's end up being as great as everyone thinks they will be, especially if one of them is in our own division. I think that's worse than drafting someone and missing. Being complacent is just as bad

Sorry, missed it - what exactly did he say what teams were up to? Was he hinting at something? Thanks!

Just that the Giants, he believes (and he’s well connected to them), are now turning towards QB and he knows that they’ve talked with the Browns about #1.  There was a little more he shared, but that was the main thesis.

I fully expect the Dolphins to take Jackson at 12 if they don't trade up for Baker.

Schefter was very specific about the price for #2 ( #12 / #22 / 2019 1st and maybe one of the 2nds) today here in Columbus.  That's a win on the value chart for the Giants and a trade we can make without feeling like we sacrificed our future (or even present).  It's also very difficult for any other team to match.

There’s still a lot of uncertainty about the compensation, but if anyone knows, it’s definitely Sheft

Schefter is pretty funny with the guys here (Bobby Carpenter and Anthony Rothman - a radio guy).  They do a weekly Wednesday spot with him and he doesn't really pull many punches when the guys here are off base.  The guys here said "the Bills love McCarron and could be fine letting things fall to them" and Schefter basically laughed at them, said McCarron is only here because there was no where else to go and said that's not what's going to happen.

Cleveland could still Cleveland... let the giants have Darnold and use the two for a RB, 4 for the most bustly QB

I happen to agree.

Probably.  It would certainly increase the Bills chances of trading to 2, if Shefty is correct in that the Giants are talking about trading up, only for Cleveland to take the guy they like.
