Bold Predictions

As it's slow around here before draft stuff starts to heat up, what are some bold predictions you have for the offseason and 2018 NFL season? Just for fun.

Offseason-

Leveon Bell leaves Pittsburgh (if I had to guess I would say he ends up with the Jets.) and whatever team signs him regrets it pretty quickly.

One of the top 4 QB's falls to the 20's of the draft. (the second part of this is that the Giants don't draft a QB in the first round)

Rob Gronkowski either retires, or is traded to the Rams. (Figure, if he want's to be a movie star, let's see him in LA)

Jay Gruden makes a crazy move somewhere (either draft or free agency or trade) that everyone is left scratching their head about.

Right before the season starts, Nick Foles get's traded to the Colts because Andrew Luck isn't ready yet. Luck get's moved before the deadline to a surprise team like Miami or Baltimore.

2018 Season-

Eagles repeat as NFC Champions and face the Houston Texans.

Falcons fall one game short of hosting the Superbowl, making the Eagles the official "Send em home, but not home" team. (I'll take suggestions on improving that nickname)

Deshaun Watson barely beats out Aaron Rogers for MVP. JJ Watt has an incredible year and dominates teams while winning comeback player of the year and getting closer to the MVP then he did before.

Tommy Vs. Time is decided rather suddenly as Tom begins playing at a historically terrible level while dealing with uncontrollable bouts of incontinence. Nick Foles leads the Colts past the Patriots in a 99-0 rout while throwing for 13 touchdowns to send the Patriots to 0-16. Jim Irsay leaps on the field and RKO's Josh McDaniels on the final play and the whole city watches with glee.

I will do my bolds for the season just before it starts.... not sure if you guys caught it but I nailed 5 of 8 this year  B-)

If I had to do a bold for this draft season then here goes. The Bills will acquire at least two more draft picks through player trades before the draft.

Bills cash in some of that draft currency and trade up to #3 to get the QB that they want

K Williams comes back (with the blessing of his wife) for one LAST season and the Bills advertise it as Kyles farewell tour ... fans respond bringing Kyle to tears

Tre Jones (with healed shoulder) becomes the WR that the Bills thought he was when they drafted him

A healthy KB plays "lights out" because he feels he has something to prove ... justifying the Bills spending a 3rd rounder for him ... becomes a Bills fan favorite

Somebody is willing to pay E.J. Gaines top 5 CB money ... the Bills are not

Shortly after the draft, Bill Bellichick retires due to "health reasons" handing the team over to McDaniels

McDaniels & Tom Terrific have an epic clash of egos throughout the season, resulting in a he goes or I go ultimatum to Kraft

Chuckie disappoints in Oakland

Colts are eventually happy they ended up with Frank instead of Josh

HM. Bold? Ok.

- Andrew Luck start season as starting QB for the Colts. He reinjures his shoulder by week 3 even after the Colts significantly upgrade the oline.

- Jason Garrett is fired before week 6. Dallas ends up with a wild card berth.

- Ryan Tannehill is replaced as the Dolphins starter before the start of the season.

-Cousins signs with Minnesota.

- Denver will trade up to #2 and take Sam Darnold.

I do like how you built  up the dramatic effect leading to the amazingly bold and  kinda awesome last paragraph .

Glad to have you on the Team !

Tyrod Taylor gets a 4 year 100 million extension to remain in Buffalo.

The Bills draft a WR @21 and a CB @22 to replace Watkins and Darby.

The two players acquired in trades last year, Gaines and Matthews both leave in free agency.

The patriots sign one of the Bills RFA's to a ridiculous contract.

Tom Brady has a hysterectomy and misses the first two months of the season.

Are the Bills working on a Tre White/Zay Jones hybrid in a lab somewhere? 'Cuz that would be cool!

Offseason

-LeVeon Bell agrees to a new 4 year 15 mil a year a deal with PIT setting a new bar for non QB players. Proceeds to get injured week 1 and completely make everyone regret that decision

-Kirk Cousins signs with the Cleveland Browns. This creates a ripple effect where the Browns trade picks with the Jets who select Sam Darnold 1st overall, Browns also grab Barkley.

-In the 1st 12 picks 5 QBs are taken (Darnold NYJ, Rosen NYG, Mayfield DEN, Allen ARZ by trade with SF, Jackson LAC by trade with CIN).. none by the Bills who can't move up to grab one and instead draft defense heavy in the 1st round.

-The Bills do grab Mason Rudolph in the 2nd round though

-Jimmy Graham also signs with the Browns thanks their boat load of cap space

-Bill Belicheck announces it is his last season and Gronk does retire

-Trumaine Johnson moves over to the 49ers from the Rams who quietly put together a good defense again

2018 Season

-OAK rebounds from a disappointing 2017 by winning the top seed in AFC

-PIT wins the AFC North only at 10-6 with Big Ben showing his age and lacking Bell to help out. Additionally the Browns finish a surprising 8-8 buyoed by a greatly improved offense and become the sexy future pick by NFL media

-KC craters to 5-11 when Mahomes has an uneven season and the defense is filled with holes. Reid retires after this.

-The Bills start off 1-4, but after Rudolph takes over for an injured Luke McCown he rallies the team to an 8-8 record going 7-4 and they just miss the playoff. But he gives fans a real belief that the QB position is ok finally. He also throws for 300 yards 3 times and Bills fans literally don't know what to do.

-The AFC South is the division to beat in AFC with both Wildcards coming from there (IND & JAX) and Houston taking the division

-In the AFC IND stuns a declining Patriots team in divisional round

-The Eagles take the top seed in the NFC again at a blistering 14-2 record

-Carson Wentz returns to wins MVP

-The 49ers get a WC seed, but the real surprise is the Bears who finish at 9-7 with a greatly improved roster

-The Packers fail to make the playoffs again despite a healthy AROD and Mike McCarthy is dismissed

-Pete Carrol retires after another lack luster 8-8 season

-Dallas returns not only to the playoffs but finally to the super bowl against the Oakland Raiders who dispatch the boys in a thrilling SB to bring one last title home to Oakland

-And....a new Bills stadium is announced...not east of Buffalo... but downtown :)

Off Season -

Cousins ends up with the Browns.  They ultimately throw even more money at him than anyone though possible signing 5 years at 32 millions per.  Dorsey sees this QB class and knowing he has so much cap room, opts to go Shaquon Barkley 1/1, trading his 4th overall to the Cardinals.

The Bills don't find a trading partner to move up, and end up drafting Mason Rudolph in round 1.

LeVeon Bell re signs with the Steelers.

Nick Foles remains on the Eagles roster.

The Indianapolis Colts sign Sam Bradford as either the fill in while Luck comes back...or just flat out as Lucks replacement if he can't come back.  They draft Nick Chubb, thus denying the Bills a potential trading partner.

The Denver Broncos, stunned hat having missed out on Cousins, show interest in.........Tyrod Taylor.  Elway, having swung and missed on Lynch, can't go back and draft another big tall QB again....he has a coach on the hot seat...he has a 1st round QB on the roster that he selected....he gets the veteran Taylor to compete for the job with lynch and they stumble into the 2018 season having not had the off season they were hoping to have.

Minnesota resigns Case Keenum AND Teddy Bridgwater.

Kansas City signs EJ Gaines.

2018 Season

the Patriots and Tom Brady get very old in a big hurry.  Don't win the division, miss playoffs.  Miami with a healthy Tannehill, wins division with 9-7 record.  Jets with New QB Baker Mayfield, go 8-8 and have a bright future to look forward to.  Bills struggle to go 5-11...everyone is disappointed, but talk about the great non QB draft picks the team has, and looking forward to drafting more very good NON Qb's in the 2019 draft.

The Eagles remain a force to be reckoned with.  The Redskins quickly learn that Alex Smith can't elevate garbage talent around him like Kirk Cousins could...they go 6-10 and regret mishandling the cousins situation even more.  Eli Manning throws a bunch of picks and is replaced at some point by Rosen.  He looks good, the future is bright in NYC.  Dallas makes the wild card as strong contender with their RB being back on the squad all season.  The Cowboys resign demarcus lawrence.  Dez Bryant takes a pay cut and stays.

Cleveland, with new QB Kirk Cousins, go 8-8....Cleveland misses the playoffs but fans in Cleveland are stoked.  Pittsburg grinds out another division title at 10-6...ben starting to feel his age, Bell still strong....Cincinnatti goes 4-12.  Baltimore goes 5-11.  joe Flacco finishes his last season for the ravens.

Green Bay, with a healthy Rodgers, wins the division going 11-5.  Chicago surprises some folks going 9-7 with an improving Mitch Trubisky.  Detroit remains lost with Matt Patricia going 5-11 and the Vikings suffer a regression with Keenum reverting to the mean and the team suffering a playoff hangover in general.

Indianapolis ends up losing Luck for the year and another surgery...probably ending his career.  He and Bert Jones share beers and cry about what could have been.  The colts go 3-13.  Jacksonville wins the division with a surprisingly improved Bortles leading the way.  Houston, with a healthy Watson, disappoints as the defense now suddenly sucks..they go 8-8.  The Titans, who do nothing in the offseason besides change uniforms, suck badly.  the team internally believe Mariotta isn't the man for the QB job.

The Seahawks flame out entirely as Carroll retires at seasons end.  They go to rebuild mode.  The Rams win the division with a progressing Goff and more pieces added to the offense.  Arizona struggles with whoever their new QB is.  The Niners make the wild card with Jimmy G.

Kansas City goes 13-3, clinches homefield advantage in the AFC, win their two home playoff games and prepare to face the Eagles in the Super Bowl.  Denver implodes with Tyrod Taylor starting most of the games as Paxton Lynch can't wrestle the job away from him.  Elway resigns, they go into rebuild mode.  Chucky comes back and turns David Carr into a respectable QB, but the team has issues and can only muster an 8-8 record.  The Chargers get one last good push from Philip Rivers and make the playoffs.

New Orleans re signs Brees...they win the division.  Atlanta suffers playoff hangover, Julio Jones slows down, the whole team slows down...they miss playoffs.  Carolina has an off year....miss playoffs.  Tampa has another bad season....internally they decide Jameis Winston isn't the man.

Chiefs win super bowl....beginning the next NFL dynasty, this being the 1st of 4 in the next 8-10 years.

That is definitely bold.

My bold prediction:

Coach McDermott will say: "We need to continue to work hard and improve day to day, and that includes me and the coaching staff too" 147 times during the course of the regular season.

Bills focus on filling other needs in the draft besides QB, regress next 2 seasons as a result, coaches fired after 3rd yr, rinse and repeat over and over again FOREVER

This is not the most positive prediction here.

Bills trade Tyrod and Glen with our 21st this year and our 1st from next to move up to Cleveland's #1 slot. Bills grab Rosen and make the playoffs this year while Cleveland wins 4 games and Tyrod gets cut.

All info coming from Cleveland is that they will take a QB with the #1 pick, and it is not going to be traded, guaranteed.

Not hating at all as I am just very curious.

Why do you have a picture of Pat Mahomes as your display picture on a Bills message board? haha

I understand the Bills traded the pick away and the chiefs drafted him, but still curious to why you have the picture lol

I feel I heard this story before about going 5-11... I mean it could happen, but even during the drought the Bills only finished with a record of 5-11 or worse 3 times in 17 years. I just don't seeing it happen this upcoming year as they will be able to accrue more talent this off-season via draft/FA.
