afc schedules going forward

i really believe our only chance at the post season is if we can somehow beat the pats and then go 10-6. here's my feelings on how things will go elsewhere.

afc west   i can see the bolts running the table and at 10-6, i believe that would give them the division.

i can also see kc going 10-6 but hopefully they drop one they shouldn't, like this upcoming jets game or somehow go 9-7.

i don't think oakland has a chance.

afc north  i really think baltimore will lose 3. lions, steelers and cincy. i'm not worried about cincy they have a tough stretch ahead.

afc south. i can't see either the jags or the titans losing more than 2 of their remaining games. both at 10-6

i can't see 9-7 claiming any wild card spot. we have got to...(oh God dear please!) beat the pats once and there's no way that in the 2nd to last game, will they be resting starters, especially against us. if we lose on sunday, the new question should be when and where to give peterman another look and/or chance to redeem himself.

i think 10-6 and the tie breaker over the chiefs is our only way in.

this is all just based on my having looked at each teams remaining schedule so i'm not claiming to be mistake free.

I really don't think the Chiefs are getting to 10-6, especially if they lose to San Diego.  I think it's Baltimore or bust.  Unfortunately there is a decent chance we both go 9-7 and they get the tie breaker.  How sick would that be after 18 years.

I think most people are looking at Baltimore and are banking on Steelers and Detroit being losses. But I also think both Indy and Cincy are much tougher games than for the Ravens than one would initially think. I think the Ravens lose at least one of those two games. But then again, they also might actually split with Detroit and Pittsburgh.

I think the Chiefs are falling off a cliff. They lost to the GIANTS!!! So they will not make the playoffs.

your race is with Baltimore, I agree on 2 certain losses then the Bills need them lose to either the Colts (Brissett isn't a bad QB just raw) or Cincy.

the chargers could and probably will be their only loss though...hopefully the jets defense can pull it off though. who knows

i just don't think baltimore is going to cut it. detroit can outscore them and they need the win. no chance at pitt...cincy would be the perfect spoiler for them and even indy may give them a run. either way 9-7 i don't think will do it.

Dude, they aren't scoring points! There are ZERO easy games left for them.  I mean they scored 9 against the Giants and 10 against you guys.

The odds are against the Bills, so don't get your hopes up. I'm just hoping for exciting football. They've already exceeded most people's expectations, which drought or no drought, has been nice.

They should be able to build upon this season and a new QB next year.

Funny what has happened to them. They looked awesome to start the year. Very similar to the Bills.

I still think that both the Jags and Titans are a lock, regardless who wins the division.

So it still boils down to one spot left and looks like it will in fact be the Ravens. Flacco is a shell of himself and their offense is terrible but they have a defense that is capable of carrying them which is what everybody expected the Bills to do the last few years with Rex Ryan and now McD.

If the Ravens beat the Lions this week (the first team they've faced in weeks with a competent QB) it's definitely over unless a miracle happens and the Bills find a way to upset the Patriots.

I thought the Dolphins were a lock.

Doesn't look like it at this point, unfortunately for them looks like a step back season but they've had their own issues with QB and injury. Goes to show just how valuable Ryan Tannenhill was to that team after all.

Either way still think their future is brighter than most teams (maybe even the Bills too) with the Tannebaum/Gase combo in place.

If we are to accept the OP's premise that we need to get to 10-6 to make the playoffs, that means we must win 4 out of our last 5 games.

How many times has this franchise won 4 of 5 in a 5 game stretch, in the second half of the season, in the last 20 years?

We actually did it in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, and 2006.

In 2006, we lost to the Chargers which broke up what would have been a 5 game winning streak including wins over Houston, Jacksonville, Jets, and Dolphins, from Week 11 to Week 15.

That's our most recent late season run of 4 wins in 5 games.

Maybe we can do it again this year!?

Yeah I'd say so.  Since you made the comment, they lost 5 in a row.

I think Cinci could beat them, the Bills really need to take care of the Phins x2 and Colts. I mean, if the Pats could do us a solid and rest starters in week 16 that'd be great.

I'll also add that Tennessee has not been impressive and have 3 possibly 4 losses on their schedule. Even so, say the Ravens/Titans/Bills all finish 9-7.

The Bills would get the nod over Tennessee to the 6th seed.

Sincerely,

Bills fans everywhere

OR it just goes to show you how lucky they got last year/how good their defense played/how over rated the Dolphins were last year

"Tannenbaum/Gase combo" - ummm....what?

The dolphins are trash man, and will be in overhaul mode maybe as quick as next season

Teams of interest for Buffalo to end the drought imo are

Buffalo: Need to win 3 to get to 9-7, likely Colts, Dolphins, & @ Dolphins.

Baltimore: Need to lose at least 2 games. Most likely candidates are Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Cincy.

Tennessee: Need to lose 3 games. Most likely candidates are Rams, Jaguars, and one of their back to back west coast road trips (for now I'll say the Jimmy G led 49ers).

Kansas City: Need to lose at least 2 games. Most likely candidates are @Jets, Oakland, and Chargers

Assuming all 4 end up at 9-7 in the way I've laid out, Baltimore and Buffalo make the playoffs on tie-breakers. If Tennessee doesn't slip up on one of their road games and goes 10-6 we need Baltimore to lose all 3 and end up 8-8.

Correct except for the last part. If just the Ravens and Bills are tied at 9-7, and if the Raven's losses are to either Bengals or to Colts and one other AFC team (likely Steelers),  and if the Bills wins are 2x Dolphins and Colts, it goes down to strength of victories which we are well ahead on.

I may be wrong about this, and someone can correct me if they want, but I'm pretty sure the bills typically give the Pats a run for their money in New England more than they do at home. Not saying we can't beat them at home, but I like that we play them close together

Ah, I hadn't looked at it with a loss to Cincy and a win against Detroit for the Ravens. Good call.

I don't understand the Miami love at all.

Since we're talking playoff possibilities, I haven't seen anyone mention that all the Bills have to do is win out and the Pats lose to the Steelers and the Bills win the division and get a 1st round bye. Easy peasy.

Losing to both of them makes it even better.

We will drop at least one to the Dolphins to finish 8-8 at best, come on guys.

It comes down to which defense shows up.

A balanced (typical) offense can get points if they play smart.

jets, oakland, bolts, denver and miami   i  see them losing to only la

Jets D is very good and Oakland will both beat them with Denver having an outside chance.  Again they just can't score I don't know what happened but they suddenly stink on O

If Brady gets injured Sunday this is a real possibility ??

Pitt loses before they play the Pats.

Patts beat pitt lock up #1 seed

Bills beat Pats take 6th seed.

I can definitely see this scenario playing out as long as Bills beat the teams they should beat.

The remaining Pitt schedule is irrelevant as long as they defeat NE next Sunday.

Bills need a perfect game and multiple takeaways to defeat Rip Van Brady.

Tomlin will have to learn how to coach before Pitt can beat NE. That guy is awful.
