So the guy that sits next to me is wearing the same shirt.  Pretty funny.

Even funnier is my Manager, a female, is wearing the same exact sweater as another Manager who is a male.  I assume this Manager thinks he's wearing a uni-sex sweater but it's definitely just for females.

I was told they would start a hiring action, but that the offer letter might be a couple weeks

That's really strange but I don't know this company.
With us and the companies I've worked with in the past, they'll give you a few days to a week to give an answer after a verbal offer is made.

If you accept, you'll get an official offer in writing within a few hours.  When I used to create them in my last company, you'd have it in your email inbox within 30 minutes.

I had an interview that halfway through they told me it was just a formality, that they already had an offer letter ready for me. Of course it helped that my previous branch manager was the new VP for this company.

I don't understand why it's taking so long in that case.  If they had it ready, it should have been ready that day.

The only think I can think of is there's usually a chain of command before an offer can be made.  So it could be sitting in someone's inbox and hasn't gotten to it yet.  Once they sign off on it, it's good to go.

Why are there so many damn duplicate threads?    It's like people don't know there is a search feature.

I think one of my dogs is on the autism spectrum. He generally avoids eye contact and doesn't really care for human affection but chases cars and howls at ambulances.

Do dogs get autism?

avoids eye contact  - because he / she knows they were bad

chases cars and howls at ambulances -  some dogs are just plain stupid

I'm guessing you had your dogs vaccinated?

Just random thoughts that come to mind. One of the memories of bbmb before the end.

USA soccer will make everyone proud to be an American again.

USA soccer will be something to be proud about when our best athletes actually play the sport.

Until then, we are just sort of wasting time.

I just ate 80 oysters at an all you can eat oyster feast. I'm gonna hold this couch in place for the rest of the night. Probably won't eat again until dinner tomorrow.

It’s gonna smell like low tide at your place.  Close the windows, or you’ll attract seagulls.

That’s the kind of motivation that Peloton ad needs asking you to go an extra 30 seconds. This guy has no other option!

Lol.  Uphill or downhill you better be able to break 30 mph for a bit.

A new question for the ages.

Does a biker **** in his pants?

I've been on a "true crime" kick, and currently reading John Douglas' book about criminal profiling the BTK serial killer.

Holy ****, Dennis Rader was !@#$ed up.  Even by serial killer standards - literally.  Murderers like David Berkowitz said "There's something really wrong with that guy."   When the Son of Sam thinks there's something wrong with you, you have truly gone off the deep end.

Wasn’t he a parishioner in his church?

That's actually how they caught him - he sent police a message on a floppy disk, the metadata had his name and the church's name.

Funny thing is that he'd asked the police in another letter if they could track a floppy disk, and they said "no," so he sent them the disk and they tracked it.  And when he was caught, he bitched that it wasn't fair that they lied to him.

(Which is actually pretty normal for a publicity seeking serial killer - they start to think they have a partnership with police, because you can't have a murder investigation without murders.)

Seems he was able hold a marriage for quite awhile.

I’d love to see this guy interviewed by someone like Howard Stern.
