Your OL Day 1

LT - Glenn

LG - InCognito

C - Wood

RG - Miller

RT - Dawkins

Honestly, I love Woody and what he's done for Buffalo .. but I'd of preferred to see us take a Center in the 3rd. We led the league in rushing and interchanged all over the line .. Woody got the most miles (as Ritchie had a little time off from Miami).

Just about every source reviewing him says this is a weakness. One reason he got his reps inside at the senior bowl, where he did very well btw.

Yet a scout says otherwise

Sources Tell Us

"I don't know if I see him as a guard or a tackle yet, but I think he can play both. I like him because I think he could upgrade our pass protection inside if we did bump him to guard, but he's athletic enough to play right tackle, too." -- AFC West scout

You get 2 long term starters. Doesnt matter does it. Then still have a 2018 1st in your pocket.

That would be great, how do you know that? How do you know who the three picks given away would have been? Just surprised they spent 5 picks for 2 guys that are unproven and they may have gotten anyway.

Still got two picks.

Never has a 4th.

So used a 3rd and 5th to come get thier RT (wouldnt have made it to Thier pick. Was going next to Car)

Used 3rd to get their No 2 WR. A top producing WR.

That is good use of 5th rounds when you have 4 of them

The most interesting thing about this pick to me is that McD apparently thinks more of our LBs than we all do.

Honestly Mills was probably our worst starter last year. An upgrade was needed.

I'm intrigued to see Ragland (slowness comments aside) and a full year of Shaq Lawson ... those guys did nothing last year .. they are like to additional #1 and #2's this year ... knock on wood. Stay healthy ... Love everything about this draft so far.

Do I understand we gave up three picks for this guy and two picks for the last guy. So 5 picks for two guys. A 2nd rnd, 2 3rd rnds and 2 5ths to get 2 guys. One near mid and the other at the end of the 2nd round. So much for the trade back, just couldn't wait to spend/waste that draft capital. Not being negative, just extremely unimpressed.

I can't spout the percentages off the top of my head .. but I think the staying power of 2nd round picks have more longevity than 5th round picks ... and one of the 3rds we flipped was from KC last night and I'm A-OK with their 2018 1st rounder ... still in our pocket from KC.

2018 picks can be dealt still. You know mcD has his eye on a safety[/quote)

Really? There were a couple really good ones available. about 4 or 5 safeties and 3 or 4 tackles rated higher than Dawkins on a few draft boards I respect.

Could you provide some of those sources

Christian D'Andrea (Superbowl Nation), Fanrags (Kyle Crabbs), Draft Profile NFL.com (overcommits, opens door to looping rushers), underdog dynasty.com (says he grabs, negating his long reach and allowing the defender to maneouvre around him)...Somehow I think you can probably check this stuff out for yourself if you are so inclined. And why would many project him inside (and yes I know about CG) at the next level. Sure he is probably capable of playing right tackle, but dont you think in that case maybe best suited to a power run blocking scheme?

Not saying he cant improve his pass pro, hes a good athlete and all of these guys are wip, but right now I dont think there is much doubt that his forte is run blocking.

I like this pick.

I also like that this is the first sign that we don't mind doing some homework and picking a player that may have had some "character issues." For those that don't know, Dion had an incident at a night club in 2015. Those things happen when you're a young guy.

I was worried that we needed our prospects to be perfect off the field. Glad to know that some sort of incident doesn't stop us from considerig a player.

yes - I'm sure it depends what it is and whether there is a pattern.

Yes, I can believe he can be effective against the bull rush, but they do say, as others do, that he is susceptible to good edge rushers. He would get more of that on the left side but he would see it on the right as well, especially if he has difficulty adjusting to nfl edge rushers. I think thats probably why some see him as interior O-line, as did the coaches at the senior bowl. Edited by starrymessenger

5th round picks. Big deal. Got your starting RT

This

Are people really tripping over giving up a couple of 5th round picks that rarely if ever make the team over moving up into the top 65 and finding your starting RT hopefully for the next 10 years?

It's almost time to break out that list of recent Bills' fifth round picks.

Most solids are.

3 good picks and a 1st for next year. No complaints here. If you need more 'flash' in your draft picks, go root for the Cowboys.

Oh, hate having to break that plunger out!

I'm very happy so far. This is close to ideal for me. They must love Zay to move up like that, but they know the guy. I hope it's rational and objective.

I don't think either has any value atm. Is Kujo even out of ECMC yet? Henderson still has 5 games left on his suspension.

OT was a giant need.

Didn't know Henderson had suspension time left. Seems like he served a lot of time last yr. A couple of yrs ago the Viikings wanted to trade for Henderson but it was only like a 6th rounder.

yeah, its hard to imagine that picks 1-7 would be worth more than 2 1sts and 2 2nds.

don't think anybody will give anything for someone last seen walking around half naked.
