  1. I still think this team needs a big time player next to Ed Oliver but that doesn't mean they can't keep Phillips under the right circumstances.
  2. I know a lot of fans won't agree but just think where this team would be had they not traded for Diggs and took Jefferson. They'd have a WR whose at worse is just as good as Diggs, for a lot less money and about 5 years younger to boot.
  3. Being able to win his first road playoff game for starters because any path to a SB this year will have to be done that way since it's highly unlikely we move any higher in the current seeding and probably looking at just one home playoff game if we do in fact win the division as expected. It's no secret I've been a critic of McDermott but he definitely showed me something last week in New England when there were multiple opportunities for him to crawl into a shell. But if this team can beat a tough WC team at home (likely the Pats and Belichik again) and then go to TEN/KC/CIN and win a couple playoff games that would show me he's truly a great coach.
  4. Still think sometimes the best trades are the ones that never happened and who knows where the Bills would be right now had they actually landed Brown in 2019 when they apparently wanted him.
  5. Sorry to disappoint but haven't had much time to post since there's been a lot going on over the holidays. Anyway it's great to see our own team finally find themselves for the time being when it matters most and getting to the playoffs again with one week to spare seemed like a pipe dream just a few weeks ago. As for the Dolphins, looks like a great run came to an end today but 7 straight wins after a losing 7 in a row has never been done in NFL history and their future is very bright depending on what happens at the QB position with Tua or if they decide to make a hard run at someone like Russ Wilson or Deshawn Watson again.
  6. There's no denying that McDermott is a good head coach, but the question remains is he a great one? I think we'll find out the answer in a few short weeks but still would hedge my bets on this team getting to/winning a SB with another head coach at some point this decade.
  7. Jets are a horrid team top to bottom and if there was a chance for letdown or upset it would be against the Falcons this week since they are still alive for the playoffs. Either way this team cannot treat last week like it was their SB and go into another funk like what happened against the Chiefs or missing the playoffs altogether is still a possibility.
  8. Not sure what the dilemma should be, most knew he was a viable option and should have played sooner. And at this point you can use Feliciano to be the backup center/guard and keep him on the bench where he belongs. Either way for this team to have a realistic chance to make a deep playoff run this oline must perform at the same level (or very close) to what they did against the Patriots.
  9. Even if he still wants to play it's not going to be for the Steelers and I don't see a contender out there that would have interest even in a 1 year deal unless it's strictly as a backup.
  10. Seems like Frazier leaving for the Raiders would be a win/win for both sides. Frazier goes to a team with a pretty solid roster as is that may still even be in the playoffs this year or fall just short and the Bills get a 3rd rounder and fresh perspective on a defense that ultimately runs through McDermott anyway. If not Raiders won't be surprised if he ends up elsewhere.
  11. There's a reason on he's on the street and has been cut by multiple teams this year including the worst in the league.
  12. It never ceases to amaze me how much importance this franchise puts on ST and players that only fit that mold. If they only had the same mindset with positions that actually mattered (i.e. OL/DL) then maybe we'd actually have a chance of going somewhere this year and beyond.
  13. Since this continues to be a hot topic, here's his year to year record in terms of W/L against teams that ultimately made the playoffs that year, and including the playoffs: 2017: 2 -4 (W - ATL, KC, L - NE x2, NO, CAR) 2018: 0 - 7 (L - NE x 2, BAL, LAC, HOU, IND, CHI) Playoffs 0 - 1 (JAX) 2019: 1 - 4 (W - IND, L - BAL, NE x 2, PHI Playoffs 0 - 1 (HOU) 2020: 3 - 2 (W - PIT, LAR, SEA, L - KC, TEN) Playoffs 2 - 1 (W - IND, BAL, L - KC) Add it all up and this is a very poor 8 - 20 career record against playoff teams in the regular season and playoffs from 2017 - 2020 Now if we want to look ahead and assume the following without including the final 3 games and current projects this brings it to 9 - 24 total: 2021 1 - 4 (W - KC, L - NE, IND, TB, TEN) Bottom line here these are the facts that say McDermott is not a good coach when it comes to equal or better competition. Is there still time to reverse this? Sure but the facts and history say it's not going to happen which is why I maintain he won't be in Buffalo much longer than some folks would be led to believe.
  14. I'm happy there's been a little bit of success the last few years but we need a war time head coach to truly take this team to the next level while Allen is still upright and productive.
  15. This is simply false and no factual evidence to prove it. Yes if Allen is a franchise QB it matters, but if he keeps taking a beating he'll go the way of Cam Newton and won't have near the career longevity as some QB's in today do. Again, folks can keep drinking the Beane koolaid all they want but there is a better chance this team is salary cap hell and a 3 or 4 win team looking for a new coach/GM in a few years than being a situation like the Chiefs and contending for a SB every year. It's just how this league works and why very few franchise find a consistent winning formula.
  16. Just a weak sad excuse for a head coach, Marvin Lewis 2.0 if the Pegulas don't cut the cord sooner than later.
  17. It's not premature, go look at McDermott's career record against playoff teams. Last year was the only year he was .500 or better against teams that made that ended up making the playoffs and actually won a playoff game for that matter. This year he's likely going to be 1-6 against such teams and that only win against KC has an asterisk since it came when they were missing Chris Jones and in their early season type of funk like Pats teams of years past. And even if this team backs in as a WC the data suggests another quick one and done appearance. I know some fans have some sort of loyalty and conviction to this regime given how dismal things were in Buffalo prior to 2017 but I still firmly believe that if/when Josh Allen wins a SB in Buffalo it's going to be with a different GM and HC.
  18. Obviously there are ways to navigate the salary cap but it's not unrealistic to assume the current Bills/regime has peaked and now heading into murky waters. Especially when you factor in the ill advised 'run it back' decision by Beane in the offseason when much better options could have been available in both the draft and FA if he would have dumped Addison/Butler and not resigned Feliciano/Williams/etc. This is why I think behind closed doors in the offseason the Pegula's will flat out tells this regime they have to produce big time in 2022 our it may very well be their last season here. Especially given the Allen contract and Beane himself making a point to talk about the salary cap mess the previous regime created. He's now essentially done that himself here so can't point the finger elsewhere anymore.
  19. It's not unfair to judge a guy who has a dismal career record against playoff teams/teams with winning records during his time in Buffalo, including last year which obviously was an anomaly in hindsight and probably the peak of his tenure here in Buffalo when it's all said and done and he's gone in the next few years.
  20. Obviously this will be a convenient 'built in excuse' for losing to the Patriots again but as mentioned before, Covid had absolutely nothing to do with the Bills previous 6 losses which is why it was critical to take care of business especially against the likes of the Steelers and Jaguars. But it's clear at this point the rest of the NFL season (including playoffs) is going to be severely impacted by the virus and it really may be the last man standing so to speak that makes a run and wins it all.
  21. I wouldn't be shocked by this either especially if the Bills get destroyed in Foxboro which I suspect is going to be the case. Falcons are also still in the playoff mix and have showed to be as consistent as the Bills in this season for the most part.
  22. I'll never understand why some of these players make public comments like this. Even if true it will ultimately alienate fans who are touchy over this type of thing especially if/when the team struggles. The reality is these guys have more than enough money to afford multiple homes in different states and live in a warmer weather are in the offseason which most players in cities like Buffalo, Cincy, GB, etc do anyway.
  23. I still wouldn't resign him to any type of big money, but I fear that's exactly what an inept GM like Beane will do. This team needs a true beast in the middle of the defensive line or we'll never see guys like Oliver and other undersized DE's this team seems to covet flourish.
  24. Despite the offseason hype I seriously doubt coaches and players around the league were looking at the Bills as the 'team to beat'. It makes zero sense especially since they were merely the AFC runner up and were taken to the woodshed in the game. If anything the Chiefs fit that description and also why they got out of the gates to a 3-4 start before putting everything together and assuming the role of the odds on favorite in the AFC right now. This is also why I said after the Chiefs game don't be surprised if that was the Bills SB game and they fizzle out the rest of the way which is exactly what has happened.
  25. This is the main reason I think the Bills don't have a chance in this game and probably getting taken to the woodshed. He can't play LT and Belichik will be salivating and getting him penalized and baiting him into possibly even being ejected from the game because he can't seem to control his emotions. And even if Dawkins is back is he going to be anywhere close to 100% or useful in this game?
