  1. Falcons and Jets are among the worst defenses in the league and all have metrics ranking near or dead last in most cases. I know fans are quick to just look at the positives as the W's and clinching the division, but to think we are going to stand a chance in the playoffs with Allen playing like a bottom 3rd NFL QB is truly amusing.
  2. If the Dolphins still plan on going after Watson they get what they deserve and only a complete moron would think a guy with 20+ serious sexual assault allegations is a fit in a party hard type of city like Miami.
  3. Against better teams the last few weeks we lose and likely lose big. And considering how lopsided the Jets stats were they had no business being within 3 points in the 4th quarter. People can continue to dismiss Allen's struggles to fit their rah rah, idol worship type agenda but if don't go very far in the playoffs he's likely going to be the main reason why.
  4. Frazier has to be near the top of teams lists interested in a retread, especially when you look at his body of work in Buffalo and fielding the top ranked defense with no probowlers this year. If we do lose him the silver lining is a guaranteed 3rd round pick and we can probably land Vic Fangio as new DC if we choose to look outside the organization.
  5. Like I've said in recent weeks here, Allen is good QB and is likely the franchise QB here for the foreseeable future. But to put him on a pedestal as if he's truly in the upper echelon of guys who have been at the top of the league year in and year out is silly. He's got a long way to go and just because Beane decided to jump the gun and pay him an absurd contract it doesn't mean he's worth it (yet). Bottom line if Allen plays like he did the last few weeks we'll be one and done and the Patriots have already proven they can beat us in Buffalo especially with Allen not playing well. People need to stop using the weather as an excuse because it's simply not valid with the live arm Allen has. For this team to go anyway in the playoffs Allen has to play at or close to the level he has shown in games like KC or NE, same deal with McDermott and the coaching staff too with their gameplans in terms of being aggressive vs passive.
  6. This is probably Beasley's last year in Buffalo for a number of reasons but even if this event happened it's probably being overblown by those who witnessed. He's a passionate player and the playcalling yesterday was suspect at best.
  7. One thing I still can't comprehend is why Zack Moss is on the field and getting carries. Yes they've figured out Singletary is the true RB1, but why is Breida still not being used more. Unless this team gets to and/or wins the SB I really hope Daboll is gone next year.
  8. This team still concerns me with how woefully inconsistent they are and only a blind homer would say Allen has been good the last few weeks. Against a team with a remotely competent QB/offense we lose yesterday and really have to wonder what it is about this team at home sometimes that they seem disinterested and play some of their worst football possible.
  9. This is somewhat puzzling but just goes to show that it's truly still a results driven business. In many years back to back 10 and 9 win seasons are good enough for the playoffs or division title but Miami must have other plans in mind and perhaps going 0-6 against the best team in the division also led to Flores demise. Miami is now probably going to be the #1 preferred destination though for any prospective new HC especially if they plan on making a power move for a veteran QB in the offseason to compliment a very talented young roster.
  10. Regardless of some of the key metrics out there, this team should be in a much better position right now especially given the current state of the AFC. Also not to be a debbie downer, I get that we have some great defensive numbers but look at the type of QB's we've played this year in probably more than half of our games. This has to be some sort of record for the number of rookie QB/backups a team has faced over a full regular season schedule: NE x 2 NYJ x 2 MIA (Brisset played pretty much the entire first game) HOU WAS CAR JAC NO Like I've said all along, McDermott and his staff have to be recognized for what they've done in 5 full years here. But it's not about getting to the playoffs anymore, it's about getting to SB's and winning championships and this is how we will ultimately determine how good a coach McD really is.
  11. Not to get off topic, but I'm still pretty surprised that Hughes is sitting at 1.5 sacks through 16 games (normal season). I know some will tout 'pressure rate' and other things with him but this total is the 3rd worst of his career after his first two seasons in Indy when he had 0 and 1 sack respectively. And outside of the two outlier years with Doug Marrone and Jim Schartz/Mike Pettine where he had double digit sacks, it's probably safe to say he's definitely washed and this very well may be his last year in the league period.
  12. I don't think Beane cares about comp pick as much as his own standard 7 round picks guaranteed each year. Also we can get a 3rd rounder for Frazier if he gets hired somewhere because of the new minority rules/incentives. Most of these guys though aren't going to be as attractive as some may think to other teams: Hughes/Addison/Sanders - may have value to other contenders looking for pure veteran depth with no guarantees they make the final 53 man roster and none are going to get a bid contract elsewhere given their age and current production levels. Trubisky - can fetch a better deal somewhere to compete to start. Butler - would be surprised if he's even on an NFL roster next year. Boettger - Bills would probably try to keep if cheap Wallace - I think he may finally get decent money elsewhere that we won't want to match Jones - ST only player and not worth more than minimum at this point Obada - has shown flashes and may be able to resign cheap again for larger role in 2022 Breida - likely gone and 3rd string role on another team Phillips - would resign but might all of a sudden becoming too expensive for Bills Zimmer - probably can get him back cheap if we want McKenzie - another cheap resigning unless other teams focus on the Pats game and offer a huge deal Neil - probably won't command much on market either
  13. If this team wins a championship this year, or even gets to the SB then the regular season argument doesn't matter in relation to playoff seeding/home field advantage. But I still have a hard time seeing this team going on the road in winning consecutive games in TEN and KC given the fact we are 1-3 in such games over the past two seasons. This is why the win KC earlier in the year was supposed to mean something in terms of securing the tie breaker and home field in the playoffs should they meet again down the road. I just don't see any scenario in which the Bills are going to go into Arrowhead again and win there in the playoffs especially given how different a team KC is right now compared to when we played them 3 months ago.
  14. Yes exactly and this is the exact type of clown that would be in consideration right now and probably even viewed as a massive upgrade if we were still spinning our wheels with the likes of Dick Jauron and Chan Gailey.
  15. At least he was confident in his ability. One thing I will say about Rosen though is there were circumstances to start his career that simply were not fair (i.e. being taken in the top 10 in 2018 only for a new regime to draft Murray #1 overall the very next year). I think at this point though there's a distinct reason he's bounced around so much to start his career and who knows if he will even last as a backup much longer.
  16. You just get the sense that a few years down the road (especially if this team doesn't reach a SB and/or win one) that we are going to look back at a true missed opportunity given how easy this schedule was on paper and how we should have had a clear path to the #1 seed even with losing to the Titans. There's just no excuse for this team to not be sitting at 12-4 at worse right now. I also saw a piece posted on social media earlier that took every team's record in one score games this year reversed that, Buffalo would be 15-1 (only bad blowout loss coming to Indy who would have ranked #2 on that same list at 12-4). On paper next years schedule is looking brutal if the current division leads hold around the league. Will have games against Bengals/Chiefs/Titans/Rams locked in, plus an improving division to deal with.
  17. The 2000 season was important for a number of reasons... This was the season where the Flutie/Rob Johnson QB controversy came full circle, and the realization neither were the answer anymore. It was also the official end of the 90's/Kgun Bills era with the last key pieces gone after the season. Also I believe Wade Phillips was fired by Ralph Wilson for refusing to make a change to his ST coach. And finally it was the beginning of a horrible 17 year playoff drought that coincidentally ended with the current regime's first season in Buffalo.
  18. On one hand it's easy to say no thank to any more Panther cast offs, but McCaffrey certainly is a special talent but he's damaged good at this point. So any trade would have to be conditional in playing time/staying healthy, etc. Maybe something like a 4th rounder that could turn as high as a 2nd.
  19. I know the Jags are a dumpster fire and probably not the most desired destination right now outside of owning the #1 overall pick again and having a potential young franchise QB...but any serious consideration of BOB after he completed destroyed a playoff team and roster in Houston is puzzling.
  20. I still wonder if Mayfield or Darnold were on the board if Beane would have made the same deal to move up and get them or draft them at our original spot. There are rumors that there was one other guy the Bills would have taken aside from Allen, or even over Allen if both were available. Either way Allen remains one of the biggest outliers in recent history, maybe all time in terms of QB evaluation.
  21. Smith is a veteran leader, great blocker and ST player so for a 7th rounder on a team in transition like the Falcons why not.
  22. This is another reason I still have very little faith this team is going to go far in the playoffs. It just seems that they have not played a true complete game for 4 quarters yet in all 3 phases but especially defense/offense. Even in the big win in NE a few weeks the defense seemed determined to let Mac Jones rip them apart and back into the game for a stretch in the 2nd half but obviously we kept scoring so it didn't ultimately matter.
  23. Regardless of the matchup I think what will be key is the Bills playing downhill and getting off to a fast start especially against the Pats or Colts to Jones/Wentz to beat them. Indy is the only matchup where I wouldn't be surprised if they are favored or pickem line because they are just a bad matchup for this team and this was true last year in the playoffs as well in a game we were fortunate to win.
  24. I would have preferred expanding the playoff field to 8 per conference so it would be more in line with the NBA/NHL. That way nobody would get a bye week or you bring back the bye for the #1/#2 seed in each conference again. But 17 game season is a bit weird especially since you can't have a true .500 team anymore unless they tie like the Steelers who very well may finish 8-8-1 in the first year of this new set up.
