  1. On the flipside of this equation, assuming the Steelers do lose it might be in the Bills best interest for the Chiefs to flex their muscles in this game so to speak and get overconfident heading into next week against the Bills if they advance. Because in some ways I think the Bills went into the AFCG last year as the overconfident team especially with Mahomes getting hurt against the Browns the prior week and them barely hanging on to advance. And despite the building and early 9-0 lead it was all Chiefs from there on out.
  2. I would love to see what happens if the Bills go to KC again next week and win and Mahomes plays like crap in the process.
  3. There are definitely a lot of favorable metrics and historical data favoring this team. But still think it's going to be a very difficult path a championship if the potential seeding holds (NE/KC/TEN), then possibly GB/TB for the title. I believe the last time this team had comparable metrics was the 1999 team and we all know how that ended quickly in the first playoff game.
  4. Regardless of the Raiders outcome against the Bengals I don't see how you can't give Bisaccia at least the 2022 after finishing the season strong and beating 3 straight teams that were also in control of their playoff destinies, including 2 on the road. Especially when you consider all the turmoil there and how he ended the HC midseason to begin with. But then again the league works in mysterious ways so who really knows what the Raiders will do next.
  5. If this season has taught us anything, expect the unexpected. And as pathetic as the Steelers have looked this year at time they have already beat some playoff teams including the Titans and Bills.
  6. If another team was dumb enough to offer that I can't imagine Beane not rushing to get the paperwork done to push that deal through. I do think we could probably get one first round pick though because of his age and another team that understand he's miscast on this team and defense and would put him either outside in a traditional 3/4 or 4/3 defense.
  7. Until we see Allen with a different OC, we won't really know how much influence Daboll had (or didn't have) in terms of Allen's development and success. It's pretty clear that one of the main reasons Flores was fired in Miami is the QB situation and obviously ownership and front office believes Tua is their guy so if Daboll goes there and he looks like a different QB he'll be considered a genius.
  8. I really don't understand this but reserve final judgement until the rest of the week's practices are over.
  9. Addison had a much better year than anyone expected, especially for a guy that many wanted cut or traded this summer. And if it comes down to bringing one back between Hughes/Addision next year I think the choice is obvious.
  10. Definitely an interesting comment considering he also faced Belichink and the Pats twice and the Bucs/Brady. McDermott is 11-1 against the division the last two years which is damn impressive and a strong indicator that leans in the Bills favor heading into this game against the Pats.
  11. Allen has a 3-2 record in games that are 30 degrees or less. Also only completing 50% of his passes in those contests. He is probably going to need to play like he did in NE (or very close to it) for the Bills to win this game.
  12. Yes anything is possible and the chiefs have also shown some serious concerns the last few weeks with Mahomes having several INT's dropped and the defense looking like a sieve again against one playoff team and Broncos who have struggled on offense all season. Regardless of the outcome of this matchup I would be surprised if the Steelers get boatraced again and expect a much closer game than last months affair. Also important to note that if the Steelers pull off the upset that guarantees the Bills a 2nd home game next week should they advance against the winner of Bengals/Raiders.
  13. With all due respect, I'm not 'that guy'. I've post plenty of supportive, positive content about this team despite a few posters here making paranoid accusations otherwise. The reality of the situation is this team has been woefully inconsistent since the start of the 2021 campaign and while ending the season on a four game winning streak has created a certain degree of momentum, the warning signs are there (specifically the last few weeks with Allens poor play) that this year's playoff run might not be as successful as last year. Combine that with Allens record and stats in cold weather games and the concern is legitimate. But at the end of the day I predicted 12-5 and losing in the divisional round prior to the season and this team looks to be on track for that sans being a game off on the record prediction. But I do believe they win against the Pats, albeit in a very tight game that may come down to a FG in the final minutes.
  14. Both points not true, and if Allen throws up all over himself for a 3rd straight (home) game and Bills go one and done in the playoffs I think you are going to be surprised how many fans turn on him. Certainly the national and local media has not been afraid to call him out despite the Bills winning the last few weeks. And for the record, personally I've never said Allen isn't a franchise QB. He's obviously the best we've had since Jim Kelly but there are still too many unknown variables to know who JA17 really is and/or if 2020 was the peak of his career. A lot of questions are going to be answered starting Saturday night that's for sure.
  15. Hard to believe how fast time flies. Five years and lots of aggressive clapping later this team is in position to contender for a championship. I'm rooting for McDermott to truly elevate himself into the elite HC discussion considering the true definition of running the gauntlet on deck: Pats/Belichik Andy Reid/Mahomes Titans/DH Brady/Bucs Etc.
  16. Why would I be the only one considering that scenario? Every game is going to be close in the playoffs and fans that think this team is going to blowout the Patriots (or any other team if they advance) haven't been paying attention apparently. So the point is there is a very distinct possibility this game comes down Bass leg which is the topic of discussion in this thread. Never forgot that in the only SB the Bills were competitive that game also came down to a FG....
  17. This is another questionable move IMO but was done if anything to appease/attract a new GM. Judge did as good as you can ask for on a roster that was ravaged by injury and another situation without a real viable starting caliber QB option. Just goes to show how your fate in this league is directly tied to the QB position in pretty much 99 out of 100 of similar circumstances.
  18. Obviously they are planning for a better scenario. My point is that if this team is one and done (which I still think is a stronger possibility that some fans want to admit) than yes it's pointless to bring Lawson back to buffalo and not sure he would realistically be ready to play on Saturday after spending a few days with the team.
  19. I'm honestly not sure if he's any better than what we have unless you are simply focusing on his run defense. Either way it's not like you can just plug him back into the lineup and expect to get the same guy from the 2019 team from the first snap he plays.
  20. No of course not, but I would hate to see him miss a critical FG this early in his career that prevents this team from advancing in the playoffs. Hopefully that scenario doesn't happen though.
  21. There are rumors he still may be canned in the coming days but I think that would be a mistake despite failing to win just one game against the Raiders/Jags which would have clinched a playoff spot. He's proven to be a good head coach and has essentially had a different starting QB every year since being there. Certainly he will probably be on a very hot seat in 2022 to get back to the postseason though.
  22. I just get the feeling that at some point in the postseason Bass is going to be called upon to deliver on a critical FG to either win or tie a game late. So for all the hype of him being a great young kicker in this league it may come full circle as soon as this weekend.
  23. Wentz is the perfect of example of why you should never jump the gun to sign a young QB until they prove they are for real and deliver consistent results over multiple seasons. He was great his first few years, particularly the season the Eagles won the SB and he was the clear cut league MVP favorite that year before being his season ending injury towards the end of the regular season. Not saying this because I'm still very critical of Allen's deal and his own long term viability, but Wentz is a true cautionary tale among many other similar cases.
  24. I still think this seems out of character for this regime. Lawson doesn't fill any needs and there are still questions about why he has bounced around so much in the last few years since leaving Buffalo. And if this team ends up being one and done it's almost pointless to bringing him here for just less than a week.
  25. I'll admit that Addison has been much better than expected this year especially for a guy that most fans on this forum didn't even think would make the team this year and be cut/traded. He very well may be back next year if the price is right.
