  1. If the Chiefs go on to win a championship then it's easy to assume the Bills would have done the same. This is why in some ways I'm hoping the Chiefs season ends Sunday against the Bengals or in the SB because if anything it will lesson the blow of one of the worst choke jobs in all pro sports. And as crazy as it sounds, this very well may have been the Chiefs SB against the Bills. Bengals are certainly capable of beating them and already have in the regular season just like the Bills.
  2. If this is the case then you fire the person that made that mistake (i.e. the ST coach). This team must send a message and scapegoat someone after such a colossal failure and if I'm Terry or Kim Pegula I'm demanding that right now.
  3. If the Chiefs win another SB this year that's the worst possible outcome for the Bills IMO. Not just because everyone will assume we would have been in the same position, but because it will be the final ascent to greatness for Mahomes and the Chiefs and just the beginning of a dynasty that may surpass Brady and the Pats that nobody thought was possible. In other words, we will never touch this team as long as Mahomes is healthy and in the league so if the Bengals don't beat them better hope the Rams/49ers do.
  4. It's still mind blowing the Bills lost to this guy, and in hindsight it's essentially the game that cost them home field over the Chiefs in the playoffs. This is the type of stuff the Pegulas truly need to consider if McDermott doesn't deliver next year.
  5. Nearly 1/3 of the HC jobs in this league are available and unless there's some sort of backdoor deal to guarantee him the HC job in Buffalo after 2022 if McDermott fails to win a SB I don't see him passing up the Giants or anywhere else.
  6. I honestly don't expect much from Beane other than the same platitudes we heard last year which are accurate, especially having home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
  7. If there are no changes to the defensive coaching staff and Beane and McDermot double down on 'continuity' then they better have a real plan to go all in on a big time trade/FA signing to truly generate a pass rush or they are essentially sealing their long term fate in Buffalo IMO. Frazier has been consistent and I credit him for maximizing marginal talent on defense since he's been here but at some point you need a fresh perspective and with some of the big time names out there on the defensive coaching front available now is the time to pull the trigger. The worse thing this team can do is believe the Chiefs loss was a fluke. It wasn't and a loss is a loss whether it's 1 point or 20 points and if Beane and company think overhauling the defense is a mistake how much worse can it possibly get than giving up almost 600 yards and 42 points to the best team in the AFC you are gunning for?
  8. Everybody thought that after last year but this team's season ended the same way to the same team, albeit a game earlier in the playoffs. And minus Allen playing like a man possessed in the playoffs, there was nothing about this team that was markedly improved in 2021 over 2020. Offensive line struggled most of the year before hitting stride late in the season. Singletary and Knox were better but that's about it. The pass rush is still a major issue despite spending our top 2 draft picks on DE's last year. And as good as some of the guys in the back 7 play at times they disappear against good QB's. But getting back to Beane, yes now is the time to be bold and make at least one big move to get this team over the hump and still think that has to be on the pass rush front after watching Mahomes and the Chiefs put up nearly 600 yards and 42 points against a fraud #1 overall defense. The blueprint has been there since the SB last year when Tampa destroyed KC and that's also why they didn't stand pat in the offseason and made big time changes as well.
  9. The only silver lining with this situation is if the Chiefs lose to the Bengals or the winner of SF/LA in the SB. Then perhaps it was not a forgone conclusion the Bills would have went on to win the SB. But at the end of the day you only get so many chances in this league and the last few years were as good as it gets but yet this team was not able to deliver. There are no guarantees the Bills will be in the same position again next year or anytime soon sadly.
  10. I think whether or not Frazier moves on, this team would be smart to move Edmunds in the offseason if they can get something like a 2nd rounder in return. He's not a fit here and even with a possible new DC in Buffalo I don't think we'll make drastic changes (i.e. move to a 3-4) where Edmunds would benefit. Either way I don't want to hear anymore about his 'ceiling' and 'how young he is' because a guy that has been in the league 4 years at one of the easiest positions to make the college to NFL transition is what he is and a finished product.
  11. There's pretty much nobody in the league that can hence the reason Mahomes can throw to wide open guys so much between Hill and Kelce.
  12. If this team goes on to finally win a SB in the next few years nobody will care much about this loss. But on the flipside, you still have to consider that team has reached their ceiling with McDermott and he's not the long term answer and/or the guy that Allen will win a SB with. He's not on the seat in 2022, but nobody can sit here and say he's 100% safe if this team fails in the postseason again next year and heaven forbid loses to the Chiefs for the 3rd straight year. This is realistically when a change could happen.
  13. Not even Jerry Rice or Randy Moss ever had a game like this in the postseason. Might be somewhat of a hot take but don't be surprised if Davis surpasses Diggs at some point as the #1 WR for this team.
  14. The lack of attention to detail here is simply astounding. And while Kelce may go down as the best TE in NFL history when it's all said and done there's simply no excuse to not double or even triple team him and force someone else to beat you.
  15. I can't imagine Frazier is going to be with this team next year. If I had to guess they are waiting to see if he gets a HC gig, if not you'll see something about agreeing to 'mutually part ways'. I like Frazier and his schemes are great against inexperienced and mediorce starting NFL QB's. But the body of work is there over the last 5 years that show when this team facings the elite QB's rarely does this defense hold up and it's simply inexcusable to allow nearly 600 yards of offense in such a high stakes game. Most astute fans knew all along the #1 ranking was as misleading as it gets and was validated on Sunday. If McDermott is truly ready to evolve it's time for a different perspective on defense and there are more than enough qualified candidates outside the organization to fill that role.
  16. I would agree here but if you are looking at postseason only, Shanahan is already better by default because he's been to a SB and came within blowing a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter of winning it. And even if their season ends on Sunday against the Rams he's still the better postseason HC compared to McDermott as of today based on total W/L and how far they've been in 2 playoff runs vs 4 with McDermott and the Bills.
  17. If the Rams go on to win the SB this year that theory kind of goes out the window. I'm not saying that we go out and trade our next 5 year's worth of 1st round picks like they did, but if there was ever a year to swing a big deal especially for a proven veteran pass rusher this is it especially if this team has any real interest of ever beating Mahomes when it matters. I guess you have to look at this way, would you rather hold on to the #25 overall pick and draft another Rousseau type that may not give you much the first few years or use that a proven piece like the Rams did with Von Miller who is playing big time in the playoffs so far and you can argue he's one of the main reasons the Rams are on the verge of the SB.
  18. I've always enjoyed this meme but this is literally Jerry Jones right now.....
  19. All that matters is SB wins and he has at least one and I would be willing to be at least 2 or 3 before he hangs it up as the Chiefs are truly on the verge of becoming the next dynasty in the NFL unless one of the 3 other teams left stop them in the next few weeks.
  20. We have in some ways, but here's still the problem....if you are a veteran looking to sign a cap friendly deal with a competitor for a chance at a ring and both KC and Buffalo come knocking who are you picking? I think you know the answer unfortunately.
  21. Morse played well down the stretch but still think we need to look at serious upgrades for entire interior oline. Not sure I believe in Bates long term either. Find our own version of Creed Humphrey this year.
  22. I like Mahomes as a person, he seems like a genuine good guy especially after the game yesterday going out his way to find JA17. But I hate the chiefs as a whole and have zero interest in watching a 3rd straight SB with them in it. So unless the Bengals pull a gigantic upset won't likely even be watching other than checking the score periodically to see if Rams/49ers can win.
  23. Please stop making this comparison, if anything because there wasn't anything close to the Chiefs and Mahomes in the league, let alone the same conference to have to overcome during those times. I'm not saying this team can't get to a SB next year they will certainly be the consensus 2nd favorite again behind KC, or in some cases the favorite but until you do the obvious and beat the current kings of the ring that's all that matters and 2 straight years this team has failed to do so.
  24. I honestly think they were so scared of another 'Hail Murray' situation because of Mahomes ability that they were in some ways simply willing to hedge their bets and 'accept' the tying FG worst case as strange as that sounds. But again, that's still a loser mentality and terrible coaching if the case and doesn't happen in 99 times out of 100 games played in similar circumstances.
  25. We'll hear platitudes all offseason from this team and coaching staff about how 'this was a learning experience and we don't want to feel this way ever again' but at some point talk is cheap especially after losing to the same coach/QB/team 2 years in the row in the playoffs. And this is where you do start to serious question McDermott and why any good coach would need to lose a game in the final 13 seconds to have some sort of epithany and realization of how to take the next step from that. There isn't any next step other than common sense of what everyone in the world who watched that game understands what needed to happen. But again, in McDermott's defense that might not be anything he can do to stop the inevitability of Mahomes and the Chiefs no matter what roster and coaching changes this team makes in the offseason. We may very well simply be witnessing the rise of the next great pro sports superstar and dynasty and the national media has firmly taken that position today as expected.
