  1. Allen knows he's in line for a monster pay day but you have to love the grit and work ethnic from this kid even if he's reached his ceiling last year. If he continues to improve look out....
  2. I don't care about Beasley's politics and vacination status, what I care about is that he is one of the best slot receivers in the NFL. Pretty much Allen's version of Julian Edelman and there's no way we are cutting/trading him in the midst of an expected run at a championship without alienating pretty much the entire lockeroom.
  3. We should have move on from Addison like we did Jefferson after one year, but it didn't happen for obvious reasons (i.e. Carolina connection). I could see him being this years 'Trent Murphy' in terms of highly paid insurance that's inactive most weeks especially given how crowded the Dline is with the addition of high draft picks.
  4. I'm not so much concerned with regular season wins than this team taking the next step which is at the very least representing the AFC in the SB. Either way the proverbial window is still open for this team and they need to do whatever it takes to win a title in the next few years before Allen gets a huge deal and the overall talent around him starts to erode which is what you will also likely see happen to the Chiefs after the 2021 season.
  5. As long as Allen stays healthy and his numbers don't significantly regress it's hard to disagree with the notion of the bills being clear division favorites especially if this coaching staff can properly manage expectations and guard against complacency. My only pause for concern is looking at totality of both the Dolphins and Patriots rosters and the potential ceiling of each if they get even average QB play in 2021. Dolphins IMO have a marginally better overall roster than the Bills minus QB and their 2020 campaign mirrors what the Bills did in 2019 minus the playoff birth. So it's not out of the realm of possibility to expect a big jump if Tua shows marked improvement and overtake the Bills for the division title this year. As for the Patriots, you can argue on paper they have the best defense in the division, if not a top 3 unit in the NFL with all the key players they are getting back from opt outs and offseason additions. I think on offense they overpaid for marginal talent but if Newton has even an average type of season they are also right up there as a legit threat to the division given Belichik's track record. Long story short, don't expect another 6-0 run against the division and a much tougher fight in which the division may not be decided until the final week of the season.
  6. If you have direct TV this is the time of year to call and say you are cancelling service and they will likely offering NFL Sunday ticket for free or at a very deep discount (among other discounts) to get you to stay, no contract either unless you want new equipment. Been doing this for years and have never paid a dime for it...in fact in some cases they have given it to me for free ahead of time showing up on my bill in summertime as a zero dollar line item before I even had to call and play the game so to speak with their loyalty department.
  7. I don't necessarily disagree with Sims for a couple of reasons: 1) It's a very low probability that both Basham and Rousseau will develop into above average/probowl caliber NFL players. Even for both to be serviceable role players/backups is highly unlikely. 2) For as much success this regime has had turning around the offense, they've missed badly so far on the defensive side with both draft picks and FA signings. And so far guys like Oliver, Epineza, Edmunds, Addison, etc have not justified their draft status and/or contract. And the two best players we have and resigned were not drafted by Beane and his front office/scouting team even if you want to give an assist to McDermott for White and Milano. Either way hopefully one of them turns out to be a legit NFL starter and can average @ 10 sacks a season even if the other busts outright or it severely impacts this teams future especially considering how much money will soon be tied up in Allen and other key players.
  8. Pegulas have plenty of cash and need to make it happen. Warm flat labatt blue beers are already what $15 bucks a pop at the stadium? Just jack them up to $20 each problem solved.
  9. I'm sure this been discussed but I could see Basham being more productive right away in the near term, but Rousseau ends up being the better player in the long term.
  10. I honestly think the dophins have the best overall roster in the division minus QB. But again if Tua is even serviceable and plays at Josh Allen 2019 type of level they will be not only a real threat to win the division but championship caliber team. Still think the Pats aren't going away quietly and at the very least will field a top 5 defense again under Belichik given all the offseason additions and opt out guys returning. AFC East is truly AFC BEAST!!
  11. I'll never forget when Marcell Dareus destroyed this guy in meaningless preseason game and injured him for the season. Sadly it was probably the highlight of Dareus Bills tenure.
  12. Probably not a popular opinion but why not just build a dome or have the option to close the roof so we never have to use poor weather as an excuse for losing a game again and can take advantage of Allen talent during his (hopefully) long career in Buffalo??
  13. To me the biggest difference between the Bills and Chiefs isn't so much between Allen/Mahomes, it's that the Chiefs have a star player on the defensive line that can make plays in Chris Jones, similar to what the entire Bucs dline did to Mahomes in the SB last year. This is why it's imperative that a guy like Ed Oliver steps up and starts to look like a top 10 pick or we get stupid lucky with one of our DE draft picks this year because guys like Addison, Hughes, etc aren't the answer in terms of stopping Mahomes and the Chiefs. Also on a sidenote, I know many fans are aware of this but McDermott was fired by Andy Reid in Philly for playing the same style of conservative, bend but don't break defense he and Frazier run in Buffalo. And in the two games against the Chiefs last year we never really took any chances and just let the Chiefs do whatever they wanted especially in the AFCC game. So it's really a mental thing for McDermott and he's going to need a totally different approach this year to have any real chance of getting past the Chiefs and taking the next step to the SB.
  14. The AFC East is right up there with the AFC North and NFC West as the toughest division in the NFL which is why I think it will be a minor miracle if the Bills sweep the division again this year, or even go 5-1 in division play for that matter. Bills should still be the favorites by default but man is the rest of the division loading up. Dolphins have a rock solid team top to bottom and will be in the thick of the division and playoff picture even with mediorce QB play. If Tua takes a big leap as many expect they could be a dark horse SB team. Jets ceiling is probably 6 or 7 wins regardless of their QB situation. Patriots added a ton of notable bodies and get a lot of opt out guys back on a team that went 7-9 and definitely see them back in the division title picture even with marginally better QB play than last year. Either way the clock is ticking on Belichik's coaching career and he won't go out low note.
  15. We are overcrowded at the Dline position and I predict the following happens: 1) Either Addison or Hughes will be released or traded before the start of the regular season 2) Harrison Phillips will also not be on the final roster and I could see this team making a veteran addition at DT in the coming months.
  16. If Oliver truly reaches his potential as a top 10 pick this defense as a whole becomes so much better. I'm still concerned with his size though and he may need a 'thick thighed' large body type next to him to truly flourish which we still don't have on the roster.
  17. I think he'll regress a little in terms of stats/overall production, but likely because our running game ends up being more effective and/or the defense reverts back closer to 2019 form so won't need to score as much.
