  1. I know Joe B is pretty dialed in so this team must really like Hodgins for some reason despite his injuries issues. I still think we could easily cut him and put him on the PS though without not clearing waivers.
  2. This is my thoughts as well, yes Brady is gone but it's foolish for any Bills fan to disregard a team and coach that has ate our lunch the greater part of the last two decades even when we had decent teams. The key is the Pats defense......they should be ridiculously good similar to their first 3 SB run circa 2001 - 2004 when Brady wasn't even putting up ridiculous numbers or carrying the team.
  3. This was the exact type of player I was hoping Beane would be looking to target (and maybe he did). But great move for the pats, their defense is going to be NASTY this year...top 5 for sure.
  4. I saw this earlier, and why I don't necessarily disagree with the final record per se...it's hard to imagine going 2-4 in division play after being so dominant last season. I will say this about the NE sweep prediction, don't be shocked if that does happen because again contrary to popular belief Belichik is still the best coach in the league and will find a way to be in the playoff/division title picture this year regardless of their current QB situation. Even with marginally better QB play than last year they will win at least 10 games, if they somehow get above average to great QB play they are probably a 13 win team and SB favorite.
  5. Just some random thoughts on this: - no way this team is keeping 8 WR's and don't understand the Hodgins love, nobody is going to claim him and he can be put on the PS if we like him that much. - agree with RB. I know Jones is a great ST player but you have to make sacrifices sometimes and he probably will be out there on the street if we really need him back later this season. - No way we are cutting Hollister and it has nothing to do with being JA's former college teamate, IMO right now he's a better TE than Knox based on his previous resume. - I know we are deep on dline but again, how can we justifying keeping 12 total players between DE/DT when only so many can dress each week. I still think a surprise move is coming in form of trade/cut involving Addison or Hughes.
  6. Not sure this makes much sense after sitting him the first two games. But if anything maybe they know it's a bigger risk going into week one and facing a defense like pittsburgh without any real live reps or conditioning.
  7. Assuming both Addison and Hughes are the week one starters, have to believe both will be under a lot of pressure to perform and keep reps away from these beasts who have been preseason stars so far. I still think a surprise cut or trade is in the works and can't see us keeping 6 or 7 DE as some are projecting.
  8. Obviously with Brady, the spotty draft record was somewhat swept under the rug. But to Belichik's credit as defacto GM, for every high draft pick they've missed on, seems they've found plenty of stud players in the late round/UDFA area.
  9. If anything this is why Mcdermott has not been more vocal because many of our key players are not vaccinated. At one point Allen wasn't either (there's still not 100% verification he is). Either way it's a moot point especially if this virus continues to mutate into more contagious, vaccine resistant forms.
  10. Here's the way I see the Trubisky situation, if he's on the team in 2021 and we actually need him if Allen were to get hurt then it was a genius move. If we trade can trade him for a 1st or 2nd and/or a veteran of equal value at a position of need (i.e. DB) it also could be seen as a shrewd move. The problem with trading him though is it's a major roll of the dice because of the first point and I have zero faith in Fromm or Webb to be able to win with this team if Allen were out for a significant stretch of time.
  11. I'm still concerned that Butler is going to get the 'Carolina benefit of the doubt' and make this team over someone more deserving. But realistically hopefully he's released or Beane works some trade magic with him.
  12. Until we get to at least one SB I would tap the brakes on the 90's bills comparisons. If anything that team right now is the Chiefs since they are currently the kings of the AFC until proven otherwise. One thing I will say, if Rousseau ends up coming out of nowhere and being a dominant DE in the coming years we'll be one step closer to the 90's bills with our new Bruce Smith type player.
  13. Most 53 man roster predictions in recent weeks had Tyrell Adams as a lock to make the team but that was before Andre Smith emerged so definitely would put him in that category and wouldn't be surprised if he's not signed by another team very quick.
  14. Preseason means nothing and I actually think the Jags could quietly compete this year especially in one of the weaker divisions on the NFL. But like with most rookies, I don't expect Laurence to do much the first month or so but certainly improve as the season goes on. Losing Entiene though hurts and he's probably going to miss some time with his injury.
  15. They need a body at tackle especially with the spencer brown injury, at least for the last preseason game. But I would be stunned if Hart is on the final roster and Beane is working on a deal right now for OT help.
  16. Nobody should be sleeping on the Patriots just because they had one down season after two decades of dominance. If they get even marginally better QB this year they will win at least 10 games and be a factor in the division/playoff picture and I still think we probably split with them this year.
  17. Mahomes is vaccinated and already spoke about it publicly because of his family situation and having a newborn child: https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/news/andy-reid-and-patrick-mahomes-are-vaccinated-against-covid-19 As for Allen, I can't imagine the Bills gave him a massive deal without being vaccinated even though there are still rumors circulating out there that he's not.
  18. For the record I don't disagree and believe he's going to be a HC next year even if this offense regresses a little. Just not sure he's truly an offensive guru based on the totality of his resume previous to Buffalo/JA17. But then again he has Trubisky looking pretty good so far.
  19. Unfortunately some guys can't stay healthy. I had Phillips on the outside looking in and still feel that way despite a decent showing so far in camp/preseason before the injury. Still think that Beane is going to look to make some power moves soon and get some more help at DB, OT and DT is still a sneaky need.
  20. With all due respect to Daboll, there's a reason why he was passed on the Chargers job despite having a relationship with their GM. And for all we know Daboll's success is more a biproduct of Josh Allen than vice versa as some suggest. Either way I don't really understand the premise of this thread but think 99 times out of 100 you would keep mcdermott if this is a legitimate question .
  21. Sucks for the Duke but we all knew that good players were going to get cut and not make this team. And if anything Beane and McDermott probably told him they weren't sure he'd be signed to the practice squad again so by making this move now it gives him a chance to catch on with another team and won't be surprised if he's starting and producing for another team later this season if he's healthy.
  22. On one hand...it's just preseason. On the other, clearly this young dline has been one of the bright spots during preseason play going up against other teams starters in most cases without Addison and Hughes. But to the point of trading Addison, what is he even worth to another team? A 7th rounder, maybe 6th? This is why I was in favor of dumping here like we did Quinton Jefferson but instead the team reworked his contract without any real incentive to cut him. All I know is that if this dline looks the same as last year early in the season with the assumed starting lineup of Addison/Hughes/Star/Oliver and we aren't generating consistent pressure look for Addison to become Trent Murphy and pretty much be inactive the rest of the season.
  23. Any update yet on what his latest injury situation is??
  24. Even Giles-Harris is looking beastly, hoping we can stash him on the practice squad but have a feeling he's going to get claimed on waivers quickly (assuming we aren't going to keep him to begin with).
  25. Still not sure how improved the Patriots offense will be this year but man is that defense going to be nasty and a prototypical Belichik unit (i.e. top 5). Plus we get them twice in the 2nd half of the season when they will likely be hitting their usual stride and/or have a spark from a possible QB change.
