  1. Baker Mayfield playing like a stud and the Browns living up to the hype so far.
  2. Definitely one of the dumber play calls by Daboll since he's been here that's for sure.
  3. Going to be a lot of backpeddling from the national media this week that's fore sure.
  4. Trying to be rational and not let the anger cloud posting, but some initial thoughts... 1) While you can't necessarily blame the defense for todays loss, this was the pretty much the same defense we saw last year. Not a problem when Allen and the offense play well, but a big problem when they don't. 2) Levi Wallace is not that guy and yes myself and others who share this sentiment understand this is a fatal mistake by this front office and coaching staff and you really have to wonder what they see that we don't. 3) The entire offensive line was trash today and the guards are a big area of concern as feared. Feliciano is/was the most overrated player on this team and not sure why he thought losing 30 pounds would be a good thing. As for Cody Ford, yes this was one of Beane's worst pics here, if not the worst. 4) I really believe Allen is good, but let's be honest when you pay a guy a record contract you have to be able to hit a deep ball from time to time and simply have to be better. Also I hate to say this but he won't last the entire season if we insist on the QB draw crap especially against top defenses like Pitt.
  5. It's not about being dominant against the run it's the over reliance and confidence in a 30 something 'Carolina guy' who hasn't played football in almost 2 years and has never been that good to begin with. This is also why I worry about going up against teams like the Browns and Titans in the playoffs because it's a bad matchup since they can kill us with the run and set up the play action passing game.
  6. If the Steelers run all over us I hope Star being out isn't the excuse we hear. I think one of the regrets that Beane is going to have along with DB and guard is not adequately addressing the DT position in the offseason. Sure if Star is healthy and has something left he's going to help a little but he's far from the savior some are making him out to be and it's not a promising sign he's already dealing with an injury before playing a down in the regular season.
  7. I still predict that Addison is essentially going to become this years Trent Murphy by midseason in that his snaps will gradually decline and eventually be inactive every week in favor of the younger talent. But I wouldn't be surprised if he does get a lot of snaps this week, albeit in rotation.
  8. This is rocket science, it's because the Bills are finally fielding a good team again and no matter how hard some of the pundits pimp the Chiefs and Mahomes they aren't going to the next 15 superbowls. I'm still concerned with how much national media love this team is getting and McDermott should be a serious COY candidate again if he keeps this team focused and can replicate last years type of success even if it don't end in a SB or championship.
  9. I feel the same about Edmunds, I keep hearing 'he's only 23' despite entering his 4th NFL season but he's not playing a position with a steep learning curve in the NFL, in fact it's one of the easiest but realistically I think he's been miscast and probably a better fit as a 3-4 LB on the outside. Regarding Oliver, if he gets 5 sacks that's pretty decent especially if others around him have higher numbers. But even if he 'breaks out' I don't see the 2nd coming of Aaron Donald or anything like that. Gabe Davis could very well end up the #2 WR by the end of the season in terms of yards, TD, etc.
  10. Exactly. Either way greatness is truly measured by championships which is why Brady, Montana, Jordan, Bill Russell, etc transcends all others.
  11. If either Edmunds or Oliver can have a true breakout season this defense should be a top 5 unit again, if both do look out.
  12. Well that sucks, two solid beat reports lost to division rivals in less than a week!
  13. Jim Kelly was an all time great and will always hold a special place in Buffalo even if Allen (or someone else) ever wins a SB here but he's nowhere close to Brady, Montana, Manning, etc if anything because he doesn't have any rings on his resume. Some will argue Marino was better despite only one SB appearance in his career. I mentioned this in another thread recently but as good as Kelly was, his career high in passing yards for a single season was @3800 yards (91). He also only threw for 30+ TD's once (also 91). Sure the game was a bit different during his prime 30 years ago but those are very average at best numbers in todays league.
  14. Diggs needs to stay away from baby mama drama!
  15. Very telling that Tua is not named a captain in his 2nd NFL season especially when other high profile rookies around they league like Wilson and Laurence are. This kid is under enormous pressure to produce out of the gate which is going to be very tough opening against the likes of the Patriots and Bills defense. I'm really starting to wonder if the Dolphins will be a serious this year after all but then again they can make a power move for Watson at any given moment which would change everything.
  16. I think this teams floor is 10 wins assuming things go really bad (i.e many key injuries, other teams like the Pats being much better than expected, etc). So if that's the definition of a 'fringe' contender so be it. Other than that It's hard to disagree with the two AFC teams he has above the Bills. Chiefs are who they are until proven otherwise and the Browns on paper have the best roster in the conference, if not entire league.
  17. I think Motor will have a better season but the only way I see that type of output is if we crush a lot of teams this year and he's doing it in garbage time to run out the clock. Because I still this team is going to be pass happy most weeks especially if teams can't stop us.
  18. In a weird way I don't think all this national media hype is a good thing. I prefer to fly under the radar and I really hope this team is not buying the hype and understands that last year means nothing and they have to do it all over again which will be a much more daunting tasks this year given how loaded the AFC/division is, opposing stadiums full of fans, other teams ready for Allen and the Bills offense, etc.
  19. Very strange that the Texans insist on keeping Watson and paying him huge money to do nothing. Regarding Taylor, great for him but the reality is that the Texans are likely going to be a bad team this year and playing from behind a lot which is not conducive to Taylor's conservative/game manager style of play so I still expect him to be benched sooner than later for the 'next man up' (whoever that is) possibly even before our week 4 matchup.
  20. I think the Bills did have a not so great point differential at midseason even when they were 6-2 but created separation in the 2nd half of the season when they started beating teams more decisively so hopefully that trend continues and we don't play down to the level of competition so to speak.
  21. Still would have preffered to keep hollister but a team like this is probably the best possible landing spot for him (aside from the fact he won't be competing for a championship there). Laurence is going to be stud and the Jags will likely be involved in a lot of high scoring games playing from behind so Hollister certainly has high volume upside if he's on the field a lot.
  22. I don't care what anybody thinks, Tom Brady is the GOAT in any professional sport and his greatness transcends anything we'll ever see in our lifetimes. In a weird way I think he's going to be missed by a lot of fans across the NFL spectrum and don't think the game will ever be the same again no matter how much Mahomes and other heir apparents are hyped up.
  23. I see Obada having a Jordan Phillips 2019 type of season for this team this year....which will also make it difficult to keep him here long term unfortunately.
  24. Here's one thing lost in the stadium/relocation discussion. If the Bills do win a SB in the next few years with Allen, in my eyes this is actually something the Pegulas can always use to not make themselves look like the bad guy if they were to pull the trigger and leave Buffalo. Because they can always say 'at least we brought the city of Buffalo a championship' before they head on to greener pastures so to speak even though I'm pretty sure most fans would always hate their guts if this scenario happened.
  25. Favre comparison is interesting but I still think Elway is a better comparison to Allen. And if he can have a similar career don't think anyone will complain considering how many total SB's Elway led the Broncos too (winning 2 of them).
