  1. Yeah because a guy that barely played last year and has been cut by 3 teams already this season and currently isn't on an NFL roster is truly the missing piece.
  2. Please remember this when they are the #1 seed and hoisting the Lombardi trophy again next Feb with a rookie QB and posters on this forum are still blaming the weather among other pathetic excuses as to why the Bills are sitting home watching.
  3. Based on twitter activity today it looks like most of the local bills media is blasting this team and finally saying what a lot of the fans have regarding them being frauds, terrible coaching, etc.
  4. This guy did the same exact thing in Carolina after having an all pro season and signing a big contract, he proceed to suck and get hurt. You would think Beane would have understood this but they let history repeat itself but the good news is I think we can get out of the deal and release him without a big cap hit in the offseason like many other worthless wastes of roster space.
  5. I'm not saying Allen needs to be replaced, I'm saying the smart move by this organization would have been to not extend him and let the season play out just like the Browns and Ravens have with mayfield and jackson respectively. It's not like Beane would have had to pay much more than $250M if he waited and Allen had an even better season this year but again he showed his poor judgement by rushing to get this deal done and having the Bills PR department put out a fluff pieces about how it got done 'behind the scenes' because they must relieving believes he's some sort of genius. Assuming Allen has reached is ceiling or progressively gets worth this contracts not only ends the Beane/McDermott era but kills the franchise in general for the foreseable future. Bottom line it didn't have to happen.
  6. I've said all along the guy is a fraud and Bills mafia owes him (and Beane) nothing. Obviously he's not likely going anywhere after this season unless it's his choice but the seat will be extremely hot in 2022 which might be a good thing knowing big time changes will be needed on this roster and assistant coaching staff this offseason.
  7. Yes we would and very badly like last year. That's why in hindsight it's going to be pretty sad come January when the Chiefs at minimum are in the playoffs again likely as the AFCW winner and the bills are either sitting home or one and done if they back into the playoffs. Long story short nobody is going to care or remember that game just like 2018 Jaguars throttling the Patriots that year after 'avenging' their AFCCG loss the prior year.
  8. Actually it wasn't, 5th year option sure but there was absolutely no reason for Beane to rush pay a guy who had one good season and was somewhat of an historical anomoly making the type of leap he did in year 3. A good GM would have made him prove it again like Mahomes did. But again, not Allen's fault that we have a GM whose's made a series of very bad moves here that wanted to justify his only true good draft pick. But this is actually good news for folks like myself that see through Beane and McDermott because guess who will be the first to go between them and Allen...
  9. Knox is the epitome of what has been wrong with most of Beane's draft picks. Shows flashes and glimpses of greatness, but comes up small in the biggest of games. People can blame the weather but he makes even just one of the catches he dropped last night it could be a totally different outcome we are discussing this morning.
  10. Again it's not that I don't believe Allen may not be the long term answer, it's what's happening at present and how he has taken a big step backwards after signing the richest QB deal in league history. But for sure I would still take Mahomes or Kyler Murray (right now) over Allen if I had the opportunity to do it. Still think Lamar Jackson has been phenomenal as well given that half his team is on IR but that may be catching up to him as well over the last few weeks.
  11. Here's the problem with this situation. If players like McKenzie are a problem why are they even still on the team? Why were they resigned in the first place? Marginal players get released midseason all the time over the course of an NFL season and it would have sent a bigger message by simply releasing him because it's obvious he's not part of the future plans either way. In fact pretty sure we scooped him up a few years ago after he was released by Denver in the middle of the season. You almost get the sense that this team is so afraid of creating problems in the lockerroom they tip toe around these things but it may be at the point where the lockerroom is divided anyway and may quit on the coaching staff. Either way this regime has reaped what they sow with horrendous roster decisions and the misguided believe they were remotely close to championship caliber by 'running it back' in the offseason.
  12. On one hand I wouldn't be surprised if the Bills come out strong and hang with the Bucs, but on the other I feel last night was the true death knell for this team and that they are going to quit on McDermott especially if they fall behind a few scores early. Either way it's going to be somewhat ironic that after a loss to Belichik and the Patriots that our old friend Brady delivers the knock out blow and puts the nail in the 2021 Bills season coffin.
  13. That sums it up perfectly. I've been a critic of Allen and still question the extension despite his numbers this year being almost on par with last seasons output, but he simply doesn't perform well under pressure in key moments which is what (elite) franchise QB's have to do more times than not. It doesn't mean that's always going to be the case but anybody that's claiming otherwise right now is simply not paying attention to the facts.
  14. Everyone will say hindsight is 20/20 or similar cliches, but yes it's inexcusable for a number of reasons especially letting this guy go to the rival team that we went all in on to beat this year. Beane claimed they had Basham graded high and couldn't pass on him despite already taking Rousseau, but regardless of what he thought of the oline the same rule should have applied immediately when Humphrey was still on the board with our 2nd round pick.
  15. I've said for some time that the KC game was the Bills SB similar to what happened with the 2018 Jaguars after falling short of the SB against the Patriots the previous year in the AFCCG. That team got off to a hot start in 2018 and throttled the Patriots early in the season and then completely fell apart the rest of the way. And while the Bills haven't quite imploded on that level in terms of losing something like 6 games in a row like that 2018 Jags team did, they have proven that they put all their eggs in one singular basket to prove a point but are not a mentally or physically strong team to sustain that momentum over the rest of the season. At the end of the day though this HC's defensive scheme has always been an issue going back to 2017 when opposing teams have routinely had these type of games against the Bills defense on the ground. And nothing is going to change until we have a new coaching staff or at the very least a completely different DC and scheme implemented which also means big time changes in personnel as well.
  16. Like I said, there were opportunities to win the game and he didn't deliver. At some point you have to win in spite of the horrendous circumstances around you, in this case HC, OC, oline.
  17. Again, I'm not blaming Allen. I've been critical of him but he's probably the only reason this team is 7-5 right and why we were still in the game last night. But at some point you have simply win games and that's what separates true elite franchise QB's from just good ones. Allen is good but not good enough yet anyways.
  18. I've asked this question many times and have been flamed for it, but outside of Allen and Diggs, who exactly has Beane drafted or signed that is a true impact player? Guys who can single handedly make game changing plays to win massive high stakes games like last night? When you comb through his drafts and poor FA deals (mostly former Carolina Panthers) you just seem a bunch of role players and solid back up types. Yes guys like Oliver and Knox have shown flashes but they continue to come up small in the biggest games. Yes some will argue that finding Allen is all that matters (assuming he truly is a franchise QB) but for a guy that seems to value his draft picks so much you'd think he was churning out all pros and that's simply not the reality no matter how many fans insist he's some sort of stud GM in this league.
  19. Sullivan has a history of being harsh on this team but good for him for calling out this soft pathetic team for what they are and the reaction by Hyde/Poyer was very telling.
  20. While this sounds great in theory there are two problems: 1) Beane is the same guy that traded away Wyatt Teller because he didn't think he was good enough to make this roster a few years ago. He also couldn't wait to resign guys like Williams and Feliciano and traded up for Cody Ford. 2) Speaking of the aforementioned contracts and draft picks, there isn't going to be much money in the offseason to maneuver with even though he can probably get out of some of these deals easily like Feliciano's. Also to throw more salt in the wound, Creed Humphrey is the #1 graded center in the entire league as a rookie. Guess who we could have drafted instead of a guy who has been inactive most weeks and done absolutely nothing when he's played?
  21. If you've been paying attention this team told us exactly who they were in the opening day loss against the Steelers. Obviously it wasn't a fluke in hindsight losing to another mediorce middle of the pack team who happens to play physical brand of football in the trenches.
  22. If you expected to lose last night (which I certainly did) then there shouldn't be doom and gloom as much as understanding who this team is...one that's just a middle of the pack/WC type of team at best. But for anyone that still thinks this is a SB contender or magically going to morph into a different team at this point good luck to you and the fantasy bubble you're living life in.
  23. Just mentioned this in another thread but at some point Allen has to win games in spite of the horrendous coaching and oline in front of him or what did you pay him a quarter of a billion dollars for? Bills are 0-4 in one score games this year when they excelled in that area last season and quite frankly most of McDermott's time here since this team was never truly good enough to blow opponents out until they went on the run late last year and in some games in this year.
  24. Allen was not the reason this team lost last night but at one point you have to carry a team and will them to victory and for $250M the results have simply not been there especially in close games like last night where multiple opportunities to win presented themself.
  25. Also on the flipside of Klein being out, I see that LB Jamie Collins was activated of IR for the Pats and that's another solid player back for them.
