  1. Fromm is in line to start against the chargers next week and don't be surprised if he has a good showing against that defense.
  2. The refs aren't going to be the reason the Bill lose tonight, don't make the playoffs, etc if those scenarios pan out. And while I'm sure the NFL league offices would definitely prefer a Bucs/Pats SB there's no guarantees it happens and officiating is going to have very little to do with who makes a run come January.
  3. I'm not sure what has happened with Groot but he's a perfect example of what's been wrong with most of this teams high draft picks under Beane.....comes out of the gate strong and then seems to disappear almost into bust status. Either way tonight would be the perfect time for him to show up and do something and have the type of impact he did against the Chiefs because many other players drafted around him are having major impacts for their team right now.
  4. Sometimes the best moves are the ones that never happen and a few years from now folks will think it was crazy to even consider trading for Watson who might not even be in the league anyway. Tua reminds me a lot of a young Russell Wilson and he's already the best RPO QB in the league.
  5. Not really good news for the Bills unless Beane can undo the mess he's created but pretty sure there's a lot of deals he can get out of quickly like Feliciano, Williams, etc. Either way not sure they'll be enough cap room to address the all the holes this team has on both sides of the ball, particularly the trenches.
  6. They've won 5 games in a row, what does it say about the Bills who haven't done this all season and likely won't this year based on the remaining schedule Obviously if there is one team right now from this division that looks SB bound it's the Patriots but it's not unrealistic to say the Bills are 3rd best team in their own division right now based on how all 3 teams have played in the last month respectively.
  7. Yes I have and this is a completely different team heading in the opposite direction since the Bills last played them and in hindsight looks to be a quality win for the Bills because they were terrible for 3 quarters before pulling the game out late. Miami has the top ranked defense right behind the Patriots since that game and there's a good chance they may run the table until the season finale against the Patriots. In fact assuming the Bills have any real shot still to win the division and/or #1 seed I'm rooting for the Dolphins because they have the Titans and Patriots on deck to finish the season.
  8. Won't be surprised if there are at least 25% Pats fans at this game because Buffalo has always been a 2nd home field for the Patriots during the dominant run the last 20 years.
  9. Watched the Dolphins game and while the final score wasn't all that impressive this is a team that is looking very scary right now on both sides of the ball and peaking at the right time.
  10. 5 straight wins, dominant defense and Tua is finally rounding into form playing the best football of his career so far. Some real young stars on the rise in Phillips and Waddle on both sides of the ball to boot. Combined with the Patriots that's 11 straight wins and no one is going to want to play this team either if they get into the tourney. Thankfully for the Bills they have already swept them and have key tiebreakers but this division is looking to be very strong next year even if the Jets don't improve. Assuming the Bills don't end up winning the division this year it's going to be a major missed opportunity in hindsight.
  11. People keep making these type of comparisons as if they are apples to apples. If Allen was a proven 7 time SB winning QB your right this game would mean nothing, but obviously that's not the case and winning one division title and getting blown out in the AFC Championship game is all he has to hang his hat on.
  12. Yes of course, the oline is trash and that's on Beane and the coaching staff and I've discussed this quite a bit in recent days. And contrary to popular belief it wasn't great last year either although the play from Dawkins and Williams was night and day compared to this year. But regarding Allen specifically he has to stop forcing the ball Diggs way into coverage and play a more patient game which I understand is easier said than done but Belichik has a history of feasting off struggling QB's who turn the ball over (which is no coincidence he went out of his way this weak to say glowing things about Allen). Pats defense have forced 12 Turnovers the last 4 weeks while the Bills have offense has committed 11 so to say something has to give is an understatement.
  13. Not saying it's going to happen but I would suspect that regardless of the weather conditions Belichik and McDaniel will dial up some shots if anything to test Dane Jackson just like every other team is going to do going forward. But my premise is that Belichik knows we are going to try and stack the line and sit on all the short screens and routes the Pats love running so he'll have a plan to do opposite of what's expected and realistically it's probably run the ball down this teams throat like the Colts did and the Pats did last year in the game in Buffalo that they almost won in the final minutes if not for the Newton fumble that Zimmer recovered.
  14. It's because of the deep rooted fear and anxiety all Bills fans have right now that the Pats are back in the SB contender conversation only one year removed from Brady and they may have found a similair QB once again which means many more years of misery ahead especially if Allen might not be as good as some thought after last year. Either way double standards are ridiculous and there is no denying what is happening with Mac Jones and the Patriots right now. And even if the Bills beat the Pats and Jones look terrible it's not going to magically change the long term trajectory for either team.
  15. To my original point I will add that the true proving grounds for any alleged franchise QB is the playoffs and to Allen's credit he's 2-2 right now in postseason play. Also no his entire career will not be defined by one singular game and outing, but it still says a lot about him if he doesn't play well against this team at home in such a high stakes game that very well may decided the division this year. And if the rookie QB on the other side outplays him you better believe any criticism Allen is facing from media, fans, etc will be magnified tenfold. At this point it's really about consistency and in 3 of the 4 losses this team has had so far this year Allen has been a major factor in terms of his play not being up to snuff, even in some of the wins it hasn't been great either.
  16. A bills win would certainly change things especially since it would also be the first time they've won consecutive games in 2 months which is crazy to think about for a team so many labeled a SB favorite. This is why I maintain this is truly a defining moment for this franchise and it's not simply cliche. Allen has to prove he's an elite QB and worth even close to the contract given to him in the offseason which means he has to have one of his better games of the season against an elite coach and defense. From McDermott and his staffs perspective, Belichik knows exactly what they are going to do to try and stop Mac Jones. He also will do his best to force Allen into mistakes early in the game especially forcing the ball to Diggs. So there has to be a true xfactor type of gameplan on both sides to overcome an evil genius type of gameplan. If the Bills lose this game it's not only about playing for a wildcard at best this year, it's about a cold hard realization that last year was a true fluke and we'll be looking up to the Patriots again for many years to come.
  17. I haven't given up on this team, just starting to feel the dread and sickness in the pit of my stomach that if the Bills lose on Monday it's basically going to be back to the 'in the hunt' glory days for this team and probably looking at 2nd place at best in the division the next 10+ years.
  18. I hope that's the case and agree he's been one of the better players for the bills, albeit not an elite NFL tackle. This is why there has to be serious concern regarding the how effective Star and Spencer Brown will be the rest of the year assuming they are healthy enough to play in the first place.
  19. It really depends on how the virus affected them especially not being vaxxed. For some it's just a mild cold/no real symptoms and others it's very brutal especially on the cardiovascular front and breathing (i.e. Dawkins). So if it's the latter and McDermott is being straightforward that obviously these guys aren't playing on Monday or anytime soon for that matter.
  20. Don't be surprised if this is the game where Mac Jones does in fact light it up downfield especially given the ill timed loss of White on this defense and Belichik being one step ahead and anticipating this type of strategy from Frazier and McD. Patriots don't have near the talent the Bills do at WR but they have a few guys that can get that type of separation and both their TE's are capable of some big seam type of plays down the middle especially Henry who showed that with the Chargers.
  21. He covered it up last year too which is why it made zero sense for Beane to not adequately address the oline and not sure how you can rewatch the AFC championship game tape with a straight face and think it was simply an anomaly. Dawkins obviously gets a pass this year considering what happened right before the season with his covid experience, but both guard spots have to be a top priority in the offseason in addition to releasing feliciano and Williams. Bigger issue with this team though is terrible cap situation Beane has created and there probably won't be much we can do to address all this teams glaring holes outside the draft.
  22. The metrics say he's already there when you compare his numbers to the top QB's in the league. And as much drooling there is over the Patriots and Jones right now by the national media just imagine how it's going to look if they come into Buffalo and win which many expect to happen.
  23. Hope this is some sort of Belichek 4D chess type of move because if not that perhaps these guys are truly still feeling the adverse effects of covid and could go the way of Dawkins, which means there of no use putting them on the field anyway.
  24. Quietly the Dolphins are playing great football as well particularly on defense and given their upcoming schedule they will certainly be 'in the hunt' in the final weeks of the season. Still not sure about Tua and his long term viability but if the Bills don't win the division again this year it might be some time before that happens again and you can argue they may be the 3rd best team in the division next year depending on what happens in the offseason.
  25. I really would love to see the Bills win this game and do so in a convincing manner but my gut feeling tells me it's going to be very ugly....possibly much worse than the Colts if that's even possible especially since Belichik doesn't have to make this offense one dimensional because it already is.
