  1. Regardless what happens with the coaching staff after this season, I think you have to move on from Eric Washington as the DL coach and not stay loyal over the Carolina connection because sacks numbers overall have dropped the past 2 years since he's been here and it makes zero sense given the amount of money and draft picks tied to the position.
  2. McKenzie offers nothing at this point and he was benched for a reason. I would like to see what Stevenson has to offer in the passing game and imagine he'll be part of the game plan going forward.
  3. Obviously great news on the surface, but still have no idea to what degree these guys were affected by Covid and how it may impact their play on the field. So definitely would pump the brakes and quite honestly not sure any of them move the needle in terms of this teams chances against the Pats and how the rest of the season pans out. Regarding Feliciano though, at this point I definitely wouldn't put him back in the lineup and would stick with Dawkins - Boetgger- Morse - Williams - Brown. At the very least wait until after the Patriots game because he's such a liability on the field especially against good interior Dline which the Pats have.
  4. How is this bad luck in Orchard Park in December? Are most of the fans on this board not from Buffalo or understand this is extremly normal circumstances that the Bills have played in during their entire franchise existence?? Again if this team and QB can't play in these type of conditions than the Pegulas need to clean house immediately because there was a major disconnect somewhere in terms of how you build an NFL team that has play football during the winter in the northeast US.
  5. Everybody was quick to pile on Belichik last year and claim he was only succesful because of Brady, but the reality of the situation is that even in a 'transition' type of year the Pats were 7-9 with terrible QB play, tons of guys hurt/covid opt out and that speaks volumes about how good of a coaching staff the Patriots truly have. Also I would argue about McD being in that next tier of coaches beyond Belichik/Reid/etc. I wanted to believe that after last season but it's hard to look past the glaring issues this team has week after week even during a win in terms of penalties, turnovers, game plans, lack of adjustment, etc. Belichink is a wartime coach that is going to exploit these things in a major way which is why I have a hard time believe this game is even going to be close let alone the Bills having any real shot of winning.
  6. He essentially playing at the same level and throwing to a bunch of nobodies outside of the TE position. No Jones doesn't have the arm or mobility that Allen does but neither does Brady and many other great HOF type QB's that have played in this league. All things considered it's mind blowing that the Pats are scoring on 50% of their drives with a rookie QB who people insist is a game manager just 'dinking and dunking' on the field.
  7. Not sure if you are a Pats or Bills fan but these type of comments will of course get resistance here because nobody wants to question that a $250M QB is essentially playing at the same level as a rookie QB who costs a fraction of what Allen does. Also another good point that overall Allen has better talent on offense compared to the Patriots. It's just amazing what Jones is doing right now all things considered. I think a harsh reality is coming soon that last year was indeed a fluke for both Allen and this team's overall success and the Pats are about to seize control of the division again for the foreseable future but the good news is that it will expedite moving on from Beane and McDermott who I still believe will never take this team to a championship anyway.
  8. That's exactly my point, and again even with that type of game from the Cowboys and Prescott the pats had tons of chances to win that game up until the very end in overtime.
  9. The guy is obviously finished and I'm surprised some fans here are still worshiping this guy and acting like he was some sort of major piece here.
  10. The point is that overall this defense still struggles when then need to get a stop and even when you think they get a sack or big play a penalty is called for defensive holding, roughing the passer etc. This has been the trend in pretty much every loss though particularly against the Titans as mentioned and a woeful steelers offense in the 2nd half.
  11. I mentioned this in another thread, but if McDermott and Frazier truly have a clue they are going to have to reinvent this defense on the fly and morph into a blitz heavy team the rest of the way because there's no way we can sit in zone now with our top 2 DB's being Wallace and Jackson. And even though Wallace has been serviceable at times he's going to look totally different now as the #1 option. One glimmer of hope is that PFF has Ed Oliver rated as the #2 interior DL over the last month and his play definitely backs that up. So assuming Star is back healthy it might really open things up for some of the guys on the edge. Still think it's time to phase out Hughes and Addison's snaps as well the rest of the way and see what we really have in these younger guys.
  12. It's definitely misleading especially when you look at games like the Titans or Colts where we couldn't get a stop in the passing game if our life depended on it. Any chance we have of slowing down Jones and the Pats offense though is going to be getting pressure and with Tre White out the rest of the way I would expect more blitzing and taking chances or it's going to be a recipe for disaster with the likes of Dane Jackson and Wallace on the perimeter.
  13. I wouldn't much stock into that game and it's the only game of the year where the Pats defense has allowed a 300+ yard passer and those type of numbers. Also worth noting it came before their current 6 game win streak and even with Prescott having that type of output it still took overtime to barely win which tells you how scary good this Pats team really is.
  14. They've won 6 in a row in dominant fashion with an average score of 35-10. Yes the Bills had a similar stretch earlier in the year but they have been a mediorce 3-3 team since compared to what the Pats are doing now and it's not like they are just squeaking by teams, most of these contests have been over by halftime. I get that fans here want to believe the Bills are a good team but recency bias says otherwise until they prove it and this game against the Patriots is really a defining moment for McDermott and especially Allen to justify his contract.
  15. Again, it's about current results and right now one team is 6-0 in their last 6 games with an average score of 35-10. The other is 3-3 alternating wins and losses and has lost to a 2 win Jags team scoring only 6 points and throttled at home by a dome team scoring 15 points. Yes the Bills have seemed to bounce back strong after every loss only to flounder the next game which in this case would be the MNF game against the Pats if that trend holds. Also regarding QB play, Allen has also been very inconsistent this year and even played poorly at time during some of these blowout wins. Meanwhile some are saying Mac Jones is not only the rookie of the year, but right up there in the top QB in the league conversation. In fact Kay Adams said this morning that Jones is the best QB in the AFC right now and it's hard to argue that even with the Chiefs getting on a roll Mahomes has been inconsistent as well. For me though the biggest X factor is coaching and I just can't see McDermott and this staff ready against a wartime coach like Belichik who is going to force Allen into mistakes/hero ball. And the Pats front seven against this oline is an epic disaster just waiting to happen and Judon is easily a defensive player of the year candidate. So even if we limit Mac Jones or force a few turnovers it's going to be a wash against a team like the Patriots who are just playing an elite level of football across the board right now.
  16. Good teams and QB's will win games no matter what the conditions are and we drafted a big armed physical QB specifically to win inclement weather games in Nov/Dec. Anybody that believes different is just making excuses for bad QB play and inept coaching which has been a major issue for this team this season and even in years past under this regime.
  17. I can post the facts if you like, even if Allen is better than Mac Jones what does it say that the Pats have a near identical point differential and offensive numbers compared to the Bills with a rookie QB who cost a fraction of what Allen does? If Allen is the QB some of you think he is this team should beat the Patriots and do it handily. Unfortunately neither is probably going to happen because Belichik is going to expose this coaching staff like he did 6 straight times prior to last year and make Allen look like he did against the Colts, Steelers, etc. Like I said to the other poster, go compared the facts and look at Allen's numbers vs Mac Jones specifically in the last 6 games.
  18. My disagreements: QB - this is a push at best right now based on Jones play and stats during the 6 game win streak vs. Allen. Obviously if Allen can find consistency the rest of the season it's an advantage back to him. DL - this is Pats easily if anything because they get actual sacks and in bunches. DB/S - probably a push now with White out. Jackson is a star there and their safeties are nasty too. K - I'd go with Folk because of his resume until Bass hits some big kicks to win a game which may have to happen in the next few weeks. ST - Pats - another situation I'm concerned about coming up with our problems at kick returner. This Pats team is just very strong across the board especially in the areas the Bills have the biggest weaknessess in in the trenches.
  19. I was wrong about the Jets and off by a game since the Colts did what I expected the Jets to. You can believe whatever you want about the Patriots game but they are the better team across the board and it's not even unrealistic to say they have the slight edge right now at QB when you look at Mac Jones numbers in his last 6 compared to Allen. Also people still insist on calling this guy a 'game manager' despite the Pats leading the league in scoring differential and average 35 points a game in their 6 game streak. Game managers simply don't do that and there's nothing the Bills defense is going to do to slow him down and we won't even get anywhere near him with our pass rush which means he'll continue to dink and dunk up and down the field and make big plays in the play action game similar to the what Tannenhill did against the Titans (who BTW the Pats defense destroyed yesterday unlike the the Bills). And the way Allen has played in recent weeks is a nightmare matchup against the Pats defense who won't even have to worry about making the Bills offense one dimensional because they already are so expect another multi INT/turnover game which will also enable the Pats to win and win big in this game.
  20. That's just one game though, Pats thoroughly beat a lot of other solid teams that were mostly healthy including the Chargers and Browns.
  21. The Bills are currently the 6th best seed so I think it's more about worrying if they can even get into the playoffs let alone who they can beat there.
  22. Here's the way I see it, one team has won six straight games in dominating fashion the other is 3-3 in their last six including losing to the worst team in the AFC and getting thumped at home by a dome team. Both teams have a top defense in key metrics, although the Patriots have more sacks and turnovers. One team has the greatest coaching in league history and the other a solid coach that is still somewhat unproven until he wins the big games consistently. The patriots last year came into Buffalo and nearly won with Cam Newton and a shell of the team they are now. It took a fumble in the final minute to win the game. Long story short, it's going to take a herculean effort to win this game and even stay in it IMO and this is the game where Allen needs to justify his $250 Million contact...no excuses anymore he will be the be the sole reason the Bills win this game.
  23. It's just amazing that the film analysis continues to show the same worthless players costing this team yet they refuse to release, bench, etc. Why wait until the season is officially toast before you give guys like Jamil Douglas, Ryan Bates, Brandin Bryant, etc more playing time? Yes we joke about this coaching staff being clueless but if they are realizing the same things as fans and media, again what do they have to lose at this point and it sends a message to the rest of the team by making examples out of poor performing veterans/players.
  24. I think part of this goes with Allen's maturity level as a young adult which just isn't there yet but hopefully will change over time.
  25. For me it has to be on defense and well past time for a guy like Epensa, Groot, Basham or Obada to assert themselves. And any chance this team has of turning things around in the coming weeks hinges on getting these guys as much playing time as possible and it's almost a no brainer that useless bums like Addison and Butler need to go the way of Trent Murphy.
