  1. This team isn't good enough to win out and even if they continue to play with similar focus they did against the Jets the oline is going to cost them a few games along the way by default. Injuries and covid issues are starting to linger as well which is something to monitor but this is true for a lot of other teams right now as well.
  2. For any rational fan, no it proved nothing and shouldn't move the needle in terms of expectations of this team. I'm still deeply concerned about the fact this team has only one win against a team with a winning record and seems to struggle against most teams that have a few wins or more under their belt. And yes great teams usually have one hiccup along the way but still think the opening day loss against a very average at best Steelers team who just tied with the winless Lions at home is simply inexusable. And to need a second 'wake up' game against a very bad Jags team last week is very telling. But this has been a weird season and it feels like whoever gets the hottest in Dec/Jan is going to win it all which you can argue just about half the league is in that bucket right now outside of a few teams currently riding momentum like the Pats and Titans.
  3. This is classic, PFF says just Allen is a good QB...."It doesn't matter we already know that" But when the same grading says Mac Jones is also a good QB " who cares PFF is a joke and has no credibility". Also for the record, I'm well aware that PFF can be highly misleading as can other advanced data and metrics but I go with the facts and in this case they are accurate in regards to both respective QB's.
  4. Again, the numbers say he's not just a game manager. This may have been true the first month or so of the season but it's not a coincidence the Pats are in the midst of a 4 game winning streak as Jones play has been elevated and he emerges as the OROY and could place himself in the league MVP discussion soon. Also I disagree with the notion that the Pats haven't beaten anybody, they have beaten 3 teams currently at .500 or better in convincing fashion (Panthers/Chargers/Browns) vs. the Bills having only one such win (Chiefs). Sure I'm not the most optimistic at times with this team, but it's because I realize they haven't done anything of note in this league and as a fan I'm not going to get roped in by hype and potential. Need to see results and sustained success over a long period of time, could care less about one lousy division title during a weird covid year. And if the Pats come right back and win the division this year the Beane/McDermott luster will vanish quickly especially once they realize themselves they aren't truly touching Belichik as long as he's in NE.
  5. True but it was a big time risk keeping Allen and other starters out there so long with the game well in hand to begin the 4th quarter.
  6. It's at the point where the Steelers and Jags games not only cost this team the #1 seed, but very well the division and with another expected easy win against the Falcons on Thur the Pats will move into 1st place of the division and will stay there if the Bills don't beat the Colts.
  7. I'm definitely surprised that Brady and the Bucs played like this especially coming out of the bye week. But unlike the Bills, no way the media will jump ship if anything because of Brady's resume. But he sure did look like a 45 year old QB yesterday at times...
  8. This was a little puzzling to me and almost seemed like they were blatantly trying to pad stats against such a garbage defense???
  9. This is the crux of the arguement though, it's not just about Mac Jones meteoric rise....it's about a 6 time SB winning head coach that knows how to put together a grimy football team that is built to win games all different ways, from the ugly 13-10 defensive affairs to the 38-35 shootouts. I just have a bad feeling that a lot of fans are going to be humbled if the Pats come into Buffalo and light this team up on national television on MNF. Belichek loves to send a message too and won't be afraid to run up the score and he isn't going to forget that because we did the same last year in their building.
  10. It's pretty much what Tom Brady made a career on especially during the Pats SB championships in the early 2000's. I didn't think Jones would be this good so soon and thought he was more the product of Alabama and Saban's system but it's clear the Patriots landed a steal and the best QB in the draft class and why they were quick to dump a former MVP and roll with Jones at the beginning of the year.
  11. Yes, so based on this does that mean Allen isn't good either: https://twitter.com/PFF/status/1460291614866386945/photo/1
  12. The punter issue is the least of my worries and likely was with the Bills too because they assumed they'd be scoring a ton again just like last year and they have been in a lot of cases. But the RB issues runs deep with this team as you mentioned going back to when they thought it was a good idea to make Frank Gore the premier back. I've said all along that Singletary is an above average NFL RB if he gets the carries but yet they still want to justifying wasting another 3rd round pick on Moss who does absolutely nothing well. Breida is no superstar but he made a world of difference yesterday with his speed alone and why he needs to be out there the rest of the season.
  13. PFF had him graded exactly the same as JA17 yesterday. It's simply a myth at this point that Mac Jones is just dinking and dunking and playing ball control football. He's not and he's making elite throws all over the field and will only get more confident as the Pats keep winning. He's the clear cut rookie of the year front runner and if the Pats keep winning and his stellar play continue it's not out of the realm of possibility he moves into the MVP discussion.
  14. It's cliche but we are going to find out exactly who the Bills are in the next four weeks. And still think the Jags loss could ultimately haunt this team and cost them the division/seeding/etc.
  15. I don't mean active as much as getting more playing time....he's been a real threat downfield but obviously that's been an issue with this team most of the season in terms of oline protection and having enough time to look that way. He's also a very good run blocker for 2nd year player.
  16. I would play Klein more against teams that are built around running the football like the Colts this week. And since there's a good chance Edmonds isn't going to be 100% even if he plays this week that should happen by default.
  17. I don't understand this, seems like this forum would rather be a lovefest like the Bills lockerroom instead of addressing relevant issues at hand and asking serious questions like whether or not this team is good enough?? Maybe we should all just start posting instagram and ticktock videos here then.
  18. Do you honestly agree with some of these decisions though in terms of playing time/game day rosters??
  19. Browns are a jekyl and hyde team for sure but they still have boatloads of talent and what the Patriots did to them is eye opening because I thought if anything it would be a close game throughout the Pats would find a way to win at the end. Just seems like some people on here are finding every excuse possible to discredit the Patriots and who they are beating when again all of us need to look in the mirror and ask who exactly have the Bills beat if wins over the Browns/Panthers/Chargers aren't good enough for the Patriots? This is why I need to see the Bills beat a similar team like the Colts this weekend and beat them decisively to truly believe they are a contender.
  20. Not trying to spoil yesterdays thumping of another bottom feeder, but there are a few issues that I perceive as puzzling at best in terms of the active gameday roster: 1) Matt Breida/Zack Moss - why did it take half the season to realize this guy should be active and getting snaps? Zack Moss has proven to be useless and we keep wasting carries on him for the same 2 yard gain almost every time he touches the ball. Should be Singletary/Breida the rest of the season without question. If they insist on dressing Moss then keep Taiwan Jones inactive. 2) AJ Klein - no he should not permanetly replace Edmunds, but this guy is a true grisled veteran that is always around the football. He proved it last year when he replaced Milano for a significant stretch and again this year when on the field. I get he's not the best in coverage but he's a throwback type of player....gritty and physical which is what this team needs more of. 3) Gabriel Davis - this is the trickiest one because obviously we can't really reduce the top 3 WR's snap counts but seems like all he does is make big plays when he's on the field. 4) Obada - seemed like he was very disruptive yesterday and had the only official sack of the game. Again another tricky situation because of the numbers game but if we are going to insist on giving former Panthers players playing time it should be him over Vernon Butler. 5) Punter is horrible and will cost this team down the stretch just like the Steelers game. Should have already found a replacement by now.
  21. Yes unfortunately based on both teams body of work thus far I have 100% confidence going on record saying that as of today I believe the Pats will win the division. They just have that look of a team that isn't going to lose again this (regular) season and a few plays are the difference between them being 9-1 right now. Keep in mind this doesn't mean the Bills still can't be very good in their own right and do what they need to come playoff time as a wildcard but there's no way i'm betting against Belichik given the aforementioned track record and having competent QB play at his disposal again. Also worth noting that Mac Jones was graded out by PFF exactly the same as JA17 yesterday (mind you against a much better team than the Jets) for those saying he's just a game manager or rookie.
  22. So did plenty of other fans that were down on this team after the Jags lost...obviously I was wrong but again, beating down another bottom feeder doesn't move the needle for me in terms of the bigger picture and not should it for other fans that realize this team still has a long way to go and has proven nothing yet this season. Pats are a beast right now with a proven HC that has 6 SB rings on his finger and dominated the division for 20 years. It doesn't mean I'm not a fan for liking those odds over a team that has done nothing of note yet in this league except win one division title in a weird covid year when the Pats were in transition.
  23. Your kidding yourself if you believe that. Just like how the Chiefs ended our season last year, we did the same to the Colts and quite frankly they should have won the game compared to the Bills who were pretty much done at halftime against the Chiefs. They will be very motivated to beat the Bills for that reason alone, in addition to the fact they know the AFC is wide open at 5-5 they are poised to make run like many other teams right now.
  24. Seems like some fans truly have a short memory...hello we just lost to a rookie QB last week who was injured in the 2nd half and has played like trash compared to Mac Jones who looks exactly like Tom Brady did in 2001 when he replaced Bledsoe and won his first SB, if not better thus far.
  25. I think most Bills fans are still overlooking one important factor and his name is Bill Belichek. There is a reason why McDermott was 0-6 against him prior to last season and we all know that it took lucky late game fumble on Cam Newton in the final minutes to hold on and win the first game in Buffalo. Also this years Pats team resembles the ones during the Brady era that were near invincible to beat in Nov/Dec which is why I've always hated having both games against them late in the season this year.
