  1. The Bills are pretty much the only team in the league that hasn't lost a game by more than one score this year which is why a lot of experts are still giving them the benefit of the doubt. Even last year we had the lopsided games against the Chiefs and Titans back to back and it's definitely coming this year at some point. Colts are simply a bad matchup similar to the Titans and Steelers and this is the game I see our run defense collapsing hence the idea we could get blown out especially if we revert back to the same offense we saw against the Dolphins/Jaguars because of oline issues.
  2. He's only started a few games though and he's was never supposed to be starting this year to begin with. The issue goes back to offseason when this front office was adamant about bringing back the same exact oline that struggled mightily last year in run blocking and against the Chiefs twice. I get Williams because he had a probowl caliber season but there shouldn't have been any question regarding letting Feliciano go and looking elsewhere to replace him. Also magnifies Basham over Creed Humprey (who is a top 3 olineman in the entire league already) and why on earth we didn't do something at the trade deadline. Either way everyone knew that this is the type of season we would see because of the Covid stuff still lingering and it's only going to get worse in the coming weeks as cases start to explode again across the country regardless of vaccination status.
  3. While the injuries and covid issues keep piling up for this team, let's be serious though.....if our entire season hinges on a 3rd round rookie olineman then again this front office had an epic failure this offseason. One thing is clear though, Ryan Bates must start now right tackle. Time to stop worrying about him getting hurt because of his backup center ability because at this point it doesn't matter and need to keep Williams at RG and Ford nowhere near the field as a starter.
  4. Worst possible news at the worst possible time with a bunch of physical teams on deck and the last thing you want to be doing is to keep shuffling your oline this time of year. Also with two games in the next seven days it's probably safe to assume he'll be out for both the Colts and Saints game at minimum.
  5. It's a very bad matchup for a number of reasons and we are already 1-2 against the AFC South this season. Also the boost this oline got last week with Brown returning just went up in flames with him now going on the Covid list. I wouldn't be surprised if this is our first lopsided loss of the season because the Colts are playing with a head of steam and their only losses in the last 7 games were both in overtime to the Ravens and Titans. Oh let's not forget they will have last year's playoff game on their minds as well.
  6. Vernon Butler needs to be cut or inactive the rest of the year, just like with Moss not sure why we keep wasting playing time with him other than the fact he's a former Panther.
  7. Cleveland has been the most jekyl and hyde type of team in the league this year but they destroyed the Bengals on the road last week so it's not exactly fair to say they are a shell of theirselves.
  8. Jauron was like McDermott in a lot of ways especially with his defensive philosophy but could never solve the QB riddle just like every coach that was here going back to the last the franchise made the playoffs with Wade Phillips/Flutie. Amazing how fast time flies by though, seems like just yesterday he was on the sideliness looking like a lifeless corpse with a pathetic clap.
  9. Seems like the Pats are truly living rent free in a lot Bills fans heads or there wouldn't be the need to post multiple threads about them here in recent weeks. But nobody should be surprised by their current success given their history and proven 6 time SB winning head coach. Should we be scared of them like the Brady Pats teams? Probably not just yet but to assume they are no threat with a rookie QB who is playing eerily similar to Brady in his early years in NE behind a great physical defense and ST unit is simply reckless. Because if you compare the numbers the 2021 Pats look exactly like those Pats teams from 2001-2004 and in an AFC and league that appears to be wide open that's all Belichik needs quite frankly to get his 7th ring.
  10. I'm not saying the Pats are going to come in and score 30+ points against us but Belichik is going to look at the Titans tape and see what Tannenhill and Vrabel did and run something similar because that's what he does. And the style of offense the Pats run can definitely give the Bills defense problems especially in the redzone where they have TE's and RB's that are capable of exploiting this defense. At the end of the day though I still don't trust this defense is truly elite because of the sample size and mostly terrible, inexperienced QB's we've played thus far. Mac Jones may also be inexperienced but isn't playing like it in recent weeks.
  11. Not sure why folks keep selling the Titans short, they beat the Bills head to head which matters. They have the longest win streak in the league right now and saw an absurd stat that they are 7-0 against teams that were in the playoffs last year. At this point they would really need to things to fall apart to lose grip on the #1 seed in the AFC and still think they will get Henry back sooner than expected.
  12. Mac Jones is on pace to set the rookie record for completion percentage, and over the last month has been graded out as one of the best QB's in the league. Also Panthers are #2 ranked defense behind the Bills and Browns #5 overall, he beat both those teams handily. Again, I think a lot of fans are in for a rude awakening when Jones and the Pats come into Buffalo and move the ball up and down the field with little resistance and show why he's a completely different animal than the likes of Mike White/Davis Mills/etc.
  13. There's no debate that Allen is the better QB at present based on body of work, but if we can lose to washed Big Ben and Laurence why can't we lose to Mac Jones? Bigger issue here is that Jones team and head coach are significantly better than the aforementioned opponents we already lost to. Also as I pointed out yesterday, as good as Allen was against a hapless Jets team, PFF also graded out Mac Jones exactly the same against a much better Browns squad which is somewhat telling and the advanced metrics seem to jive with the theory that Jones has already transitioned from a 'game manager' type to an elite player just 10 games into his rookie season.
  14. I'll definitely give this front office credit for losing two of their late round picks that were stashed on the practice squad by midseason. But at the end of the day the odds of these guys panning out in the league are slim to none and kind of feel sorry for Wildgoose to leave a team like the Bills for a dumpster fire like the Jets.
  15. I can give you that much, just breathing on a QB seems to draw a flag these days given the current state of officiating. Just thought at this point though with all the rookie and inexperienced QB's we've faced so far we'd have some nice total sack numbers but we are actually falling towards the bottom of the league in that category basically averaging 1-2 sacks per game now.
  16. This is a very good defense and this secondary is having an elite collective season. But again, you have to consider the type of teams and QB's we've faced this year including multiple QB's that have less than a handful of NFL starts. Also one alarming stat that I still think is an issue is sacks, yes the pressure has been there from a metric standpoint and we are certainly getting turnovers in bunches but in most cases we aren't even touching opposing QB's and think this will be a bigger issue down the stretch especially against better competition like we saw with Tannenhill and the Titans who at the time was the most sacked QB in the league when we played them.
  17. Really this is news to me because I wasn't participating in these forums last year or any Bills forum for that matter. Also again, what is nonsense exactly? Critical thinking? Realistic takes? Sure maybe I'll be wrong about how things shake out but I base my perception on reality and not living in a fantasy land where people think this team is somehow locked into getting to and winning a SB this year with no history of past success to indicate this an expected outcome vs a team like the Patriots where it very much is. See same response to the other guy.....you have me confused with somebody else.
  18. This is a homer take at best, outside of QB/WR/Secondary I don't believe we are better at any position and in most cases the Pats are markedly better across the board. Also one major advantage still being overlooked is HC where they hold a distinct advantage and it's not even remotely close and this why I don't like our chances in two high stakes games in December where Belichik's teams have proven to be near invincible in years past.
  19. Not sure why everyone keeps making the assumption that this is Beasley's last year in Buffalo. And still don't understand the McKenzie love and believe he'd easily replace him either. Obviously anything can happen in the offseason which will no doubt be challenging give what little cap space this team is going to be working with but no reason to create a hole if Beasely can still be here at least one more year and be productive in the process.
  20. Just being realistic, I don't see the Pats losing on Thur therefore they will take the division by default until at least Sunday. Bills win they obviously jump back into first place but if they lose again not unrealistic to assume they lose grip on the division lead for good this season given the Pats current upward trajectory and lingering questions still out there about the Bills and who exactly they are. And if they lose to the Colts on Sunday there are no more lingering questions and we will know they are frauds once and for all.
  21. This guy is the definition of washed up but sadly would probably still be an upgrade over Moss and can get the same 2 yards with every carry like we waste on him.
  22. It will be interesting to see how this team (and the fans) respond after the Pats take the division lead on Thursday with what should be another (easy) win against the Falcons. Obviously the Patriots can do this by default since they haven't had their bye week yet but if the Bills lose to the Colts on Sunday you get the sense this is they will likely be out of the division lead for good once again looking up at the Pats. And if this scenario plays out the Bills go from likely #2 seed all the way to the #5 seed at best which could mean another meeting with the Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs and one and done. Hard to fathom this situation a month ago but not unexpected given the offseason the Pats had and a 6 time SB winning head coach looking to send a message to the rest of the league this year.
  23. That was my prediction at the beginning of the year (and losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs) but still think it's a bit optimistic at this point until this team starts winning games against teams that aren't in a free for all for the #1 overall pick next spring.
  24. Understand this but the Basham pick truly feels like a luxury type of move in hindsight especially since he's essentially redshirted this behind more proven players. Humphrey would have been a plug and play guy from day one but again it goes to show the disconnect with this front office and coaching staff with their oline evaluation that they still believe a marginal player like Feliciniao should be starting and resigned to begin with. I will say that if spencer brown ends up being even an average starter in the long run it offsets this a bit but man would this team be in a completely different place right now with Humpfrey over Basham.
  25. Really perplexed by the Rams but the 49ers do seem to have their number. Just a very strange season so far in terms of all these jekyl and hyde teams. Going to be an interesting situation in LA if they don't turn things around quick or Snead and McVay might not be employed much longer. And it won't be a desirable destination for a new HC/GM since they'll have no draft picks to work with.
