  1. I wouldn't say Mahomes is a real MVP candidate this year but if he gets hot down the stretch there's probably little argument there. Also unlike with Allen, there's a proven trust factor there in terms of being the AFC's best team the last 3 years and winning a ring already. And for all the talk and hype about the Patriots, the Chiefs are quietly playing great football on defense right now and a game out of the #1 overall seed in the AFC. And looking at the rest of their schedule they are probably not going to lose more than one game the rest of the way it wouldn't be shocked if they do in fact finish as the conferences best record again despite the current tie breaker situation with head to head losses already against the Bills/Titans/Ravens.
  2. Because they would have had to put Fromm on the active roster and obviously can't do that right now given the uncertainty at DB and there's no point with Allen and Trubisky fully healthy. I honestly have no clue if Fromm is going to amount to anything in this league but I think he's hands down a better QB than Webb which might not be saying much though.
  3. I see that Belichik was heaping on the praise of Allen this week....that means he's salivating over Allen being a turnover machine in recent weeks going up against their defense. Really hope we don't fall behind by 14+ points early or things will truly get out of hand quickly in this one.
  4. If his ceiling is leading his team to first place in the division as a rookie, leading an offense that is scoring 35 points a game, running away with rookie of the year, being in the MVP discussion, etc than I would say the future is still very bright.
  5. I read this article earlier and though it was very telling. And for all the hype around the Bills being a SB contender it's very telling that the already have 4 losses and are 3-3 in the last six against this type of schedule. Belichik is a wartime coach and I'm sure he's salivating looking at film on Allen, oline, ST, etc just waiting to strike like a viper. Also important to note he's not going to forget what happened last year, especially on MNF in Foxboro when the Bills ran up the score. He'll definitely poor it on in this game once things are out of hand and that type of opportunity presents itself like what happened in the Colts game.
  6. How many excuse threads are going to be posted this week? Good grief man!
  7. Luck would be squeaking by and eeking out close wins in the final minutes every game. When you are outscoring teams 35-10 on average every week it has little to do with other teams injuries and a lot to do with talent, coaching, etc. Belichik is a wartime coach and his teams simply don't make the type of mistakes you are seeing from the Bills week in and week out.
  8. Obviously you can choose to disagree but again, I think you'll be surprised by the tone of Bills mafia during the offseason if this team continues on it's current path given the lofty expectations bestowed up on this team heading into 2021. And I'm also pretty sure that if the Pats win on MNF fans are going to finally tired of hearing the same platitudes over and over from McD/Allen/etc ...."We need to play better" ...."This isn't who we are"...etc.
  9. Fair enough and you did hit the nail on the head....it's what the Pegulas think that ultimately matters not me or any other jo blow fan on here.
  10. Yes because it's a results driven league and this franchise should be at the point where just making the playoff isn't good enough. And pretty sure the Pegulas would agree given Allens recent contract extension and believe that a SB window is now open. Obviously if he had a proven resume like Belichik, Tomlin, etc it wouldn't matter but getting to one AFC Championship game and winning a division title in a weird covid year when the Pats were in transition means absolutely nothing quite frankly. At the end of the day I'm happy that things have been different the last 4 years but it doesn't mean fans have to a blind loyalty to this regime for that.
  11. Just for the record, I wouldn't fire McDermott after this season even if the Bills lose out or whatever the ultimate outcome is. No he's not the worst coach in the league or this team as had even though I personally believe this team will never win a championship with him. My point is that if you believe this team is in a true SB window, then after 2022 it's not unreasonable to make a GM/coaching change with anything less than a SB appearance. So yes if this season is a failure in terms of no playoffs or one and done, why wouldn't McDermott (and Beane) be on a very hot seat heading into 2022?
  12. I still don't give much credence to this theory because of the simple fact is all they did is win the division. And most of the interviews we saw from players in training camp indicated that they understood last year meant nothing and they have to do it all again this season so what changed exactly if that was their mindset heading into the 2021 campaign? It makes more sense if you look at the Chiefs who did get off to a bad start this year as the defending AFC Champs but have finally found their footing and also quietly one of the hottest teams right now. Whatever the case it's put up or shut up time now and it's not cliche to say this is the biggest game of the McD/Allen era coming up and true defining moment for both.
  13. I'm sure Bills mafia would be divided, but if the Bills don't make the playoffs period it's a very reasonable take because to go from an AFC championship game appearance to no playoffs the year has to be reflected somewhere whether on the GM, HC, etc.
  14. This makes as much sense as thinking Davis Webb is a better QB or an NFL caliber player for that matter. Newsflash there's a reason why the Giants didn't pluck him of the PS. I'm happy for Fromm and wouldn't be surprised if he ends up starting games for the Giants at some point because he definitely has NFL talent and probably will have a long career as a backup worst case.
  15. This is the type of statistical data that's most concerning to me because if anything it supports the theory that the Bills will be one and done in the playoffs if they even get there. Just mind boggling that they can come out and crush a poor team like the Jets one week, then lose to another like the Jags or Steelers the next but this is still part of a bigger picture and reflection of poor coaching IMO and why it's not too soon to put McDermott on the hot seat after this season is over.
  16. These are the type of moves expected at this point of the season and if Dane Jackson fails it's going to be musical chairs at the position the rest of the year.
  17. Smart move by a rising young star who certainly has a great shot of winning his first SB ring this year.
  18. As I mentioned in another post, Ford/Feliciano/Bottger are pretty much the same bad player but I would stick with Boettger at least for the Patriots game because of what a liability Feliciano has been especially against teams with a strong interior dline but believe whatever you like.
  19. I guess one thing you can give Beane credit for is the hype around some of his late round picks given how many of them have been poached by other teams the last few months. Would be pretty wild to see Fromm starting games for the Giants by the end of the year.
  20. You might be right but either way he's playing out the string in Buffalo, as are possibly a lot of other players on this roster if this team fizzles out or doesn't go far in the playoffs if they get there.
  21. I think it's not so much bills fans fear losing as much as they are realistic in terms of this teams current status and going against a proven commodity like Belichik who had one down season in transition post Brady. And even some of the media that were all over the Bills up until the last few weeks are realizing what's brewing right now in NE and jumping firmly on that bandwagon for good reason.
  22. The jet sweep stuff is predicable and played out and activating him again this week and putting him on the field would be an invitation for disaster going against the Pats defense. I don't see this coaching staff going back to McKenzie as the return man either this week even though Stevenson did absolutely nothing in his first NFL game. Either way McKenzie isn't part of the future plans here and will be gone in the offseason, so it's time to see what some of these younger guys and one of the few roster moves I agree with.
  23. Between Ford/Boetger/Feliciano it's pretty much a flip of a coin and guard is going to be the clear cut #1 offseason need at this point. Something tells me the coaching staff will go back to Feliciano by default since was the starter but I would be very cautious doing that especially since he's been out a while and this is the worst possible team for him to come back and play against given how ridiculous the pats front seven has played in recent weeks and really the main reason they are on a tear outside of Jones play on the offensive side.
  24. Doyle has been a complete waste of roster space this year but this isn't a good sign since he's another olineman and you wonder who else he's been around in the last week. In fact with the dust from the holidays settling around the league I won't be surprised if there is spike players heading to the covid list soon, not just the Bills but most other teams.
