  1. To be honest I haven't listened to every press conference this year, but considering the circumstances I didn't expect McD to sound like everything is peaches and roses. But what I observed you can tell the pressure is real especially since you had last week's opponent calling out this team for basically not giving a crap and that starts with the head coach obviously. But again let's not pretend this is isolated to last week. The warning signs have been there since week one when this decided not to show up for their home opener despite all offseason to prepare and play in front of 80K fans again. And then again coming out of a bye week when you lost a tough game on national television you'd think they'd be ready and motivated to send a message again at home but they waiting until the 4th quarter to show up and were lucky to win. Bottom line it's time for the 2021 Bills to finally show what they are but sadly they may be exactly what we've seen the last 2 weeks.
  2. It's only because it was a close loss but there are still plenty of national media salivating over the patriots now and starting to focus on them. Also because there were some other big upsets last week (i.e. Denver destroying Dallas at home), again the national media is honing in there. If the Bills lose to the Jets whether close or blowout you better believe any national media still supporting the Bills will officially be off the bandwagon for good though.
  3. Yeah it's not a good tone, it's almost like he's publicly conceding the issue isn't just about effort/execution but this organization as a whole grossly miscalculated the talent on this roster and what is shaping up to be an epic failure to bring back pretty much the same team from last year that fell short of the SB and wasn't even competitive in their final game. This is why the season is pretty much on the line this week, you lose to the Jets and Mike White things will go further south quickly and you'll see the defense start to pack it in so to speak once they know this offense is truly toast and can't move the ball or score anymore.
  4. Allen has not been nearly as good as last year despite some misleading comparisons being thrown out there on his YTD numbers vs 2020 halfway point, but you can't put everything on him when you are under pressure from the moment the football is snapped on seemingly almost every pass play. But again, a lot of this also has to do with the fact that teams know we can't run the ball and are going to abandon any feeble attempt to do it quickly especially in a close game. And just like with what's happening with KC, teams are going to continue to give the same cove2 shell looks and bring pressure in the middle because it's working.
  5. I picked 12-5 as well but at this point it's this teams ceiling IMO. Their floor could very well be 8 or 9 wins if they can't figure out away to cover for their glaring holes, most notably the oline and not sure how you do that without completely reinventing your offensive scheme midseason. Also not sure I understand ESPN thinking the Bills would be the #1 seed at 12-5, that would mean the Titans fall apart and finish with at least 6 losses and not sure I see that happening looking at their schedule even without Henry. Also think Baltimore is going to be hard pressed to finish with more than 5 losses so we would have to beat them out on tiebreakers.
  6. Trust what exactly? A roster that scored 6 points against he mighty jacksonville jaguars who probably won't win another game all year.
  7. He did the same thing in Carolina after having an all pro season and signing a big contract....became a typical lazy fatcat that shows up on Sundays and puts on a uniform but not much else.
  8. Beane probably doesn't even know who they are if they aren't former Panther players.
  9. Fells going to TB is what a real contender does even though TE was far from a need for them. Meanwhile the Bills refuse to bring in anybody from outside the organization unless they played for the Panthers and continue to hold a misguided belief their roster is supreme to everyone elses. If this team loses to the Jets I'm at the point where I hope the rest of the season is a complete trainwreck so Beane can be exposed for the fraud he is.
  10. Regarding Simms thoughts: 1) Agree, Allen and the offense have had moments but it still feels nothing like last year especially the redzone struggles. 2) The problem with this though is our oline is terrible and even when we try to commit to running plays are blown up in the backfield or our RB's fight for a 2 or 3 yard gain. This coaching staff knows it's simply a waste of a down to run the ball but that of course is playing right into opposing defenses handds. 3) Probably true but again with no threat to run the ball and an oline that can't run or pass block it was expected a game like this was coming, and probably much worse in the weeks to come. 4) We aren't going after OBD but it's been true for awhile that Diggs is the only game changer. Still not sure about Knox and Sanders isn't a game changer at this point of his career. I think next year finding another playmaker will be a priority but going to be awful tough with what limited cap space will be available and needing to prioritize the oline first.
  11. What is the Bills 'A game' exactly and when are they going to show it? The early season stretch against the Dolphins/Redskins/Texans was merely a mirage especially since all three of those games were against backup QBs.
  12. Yes obviously the reason why this team is struggling right now.
  13. Simply not true, he wouldn't be graded out as a top 5 guard in this league if he was a one dimensional player. And if you've watched any film on him the last few years not only is he probably the best run blocking guard in the entire league, but a top 10 pass blocker as well. Just a true elite player in every sense of the definition and he should be on this team right now.
  14. Everyone should spam this tweet at the official Buffalo Bills twitter account. Beane didn't think Teller was good enough to make this team over a guy like Feliciano. And Spain was cut a few games into the season because he apparently wasn't a 'process' guy. Truly sad stuff here.
  15. Agree, the quality wins were there. Only win of note he has was against KC but we know their defense is garbage and they in the essentially in the same boat as the Bills this year in terms or regression and being nothing more than a middle of the pack team.
  16. I disagree with this because again, everybody knows what Brady is capable of in the playoffs once the door is open. Sure the media wasn't pounding the Bucs last year like they are now as SB favorites but it's about being a proven commodity and despite last year 13-3 season there's no evidence to suggest that this current Bills team as is about to run the table and win it all.
  17. So in hindsight the Steelers loss may not be so bad based on their current record. But still not sure I see them holding up the rest of the way based on the remaining schedule but worth noting the head to head loss and tiebreaker could come into play for the wildcard picture should the Bills lose the division to the Pats.
  18. You are what your record says you are...and halfway through the season this is a middle of the pack 5-3 team that is essentially more loss away from losing the division lead and not even being in the WC picture in the top 7 depending on how the other games shake out this week. The online is not average at best, they are terrible and I believe the only team in the league that has given up 20+ pressures in 3 games this season. Yes the defense has been good on paper, but again look at who we've played. Against probably 25 other teams last week we certainly give up more than 9 points and lose badly. Yes Allen has been good outside of the first few weeks of the season, but outside of the Chiefs game (who we know has a bad defense and isn't good overall) who has he beat and been elite against? I just think a cold hard reality is settling in and the Bills are just not a very good team this year. Sure they might get enough wins to either win the division by default or get a WC spot but it's hard to see them being anything more than one and done in the playoffs with this roster.
  19. Has anyone in the local media had the balls to call Beane out about Teller during one of the weekly press conferences? It's simply inexcusable that we gave this guy away and probably would have released him outright if not for the trade with the Browns.
  20. Well maybe the NFL is really rigged and the officials will make sure we get there and win it all then. But in all seriousness, this really makes no sense when you look at the totality of the Bills season thus far sitting at 5-3. IMO a true SB contender wins the Steelers and Jags game. Yes the AFC is wide open but just can't see why the Bills would be the favorite with the glaring holes they have which is why they also have 3 losses right now and are on pace for a 10/11 season at best.
  21. It's called peaking which it looks like the Bills did before the bye week. This is also the time of year where separation starts and you see who is truly a contender and whose a pretender. I've had a theory that the Chiefs could be their 'SB' in hindsight because of all the eggs put into that basket to beat a team that's having a down year and simply not that good. And they also played above their heads against an elite Titans game and I don't believe are going to mentally from that 4th down play. Obviously still a lot of football left to be played but I think even if they beat the Jets this week it's not going to be easy or a blowout because this team has too many glaring flaws that have been exposed and aren't able to be fixed until the offseason. And what's really sad is the Jets have more wins over teams with a winning record than the Bills do. If anything don't be shocked if the Bills are blown off the field and last week wasn't even the low point of the season yet.
  22. I say Beane because outside of Allen and Diggs you can argue he's misfired big time on most draft picks and trades. Of course he did draft Wyatt Teller but didn't think he was good enough to make this team so that's a huge miss as well. If this team continues to flounder or is one and done in the postseason there needs to be some real pressure on him in the offseason given the number of holes this team has and likely not much cap room to operate.
  23. I honestly think they just need to give one guy the bulk of the carries and still think that should be singletary who is the more well rounded back in terms of pass protection and pass catching. And the numbers say he's been the better guy all along. So maybe this will be his chance this week to have a true breakout game and be the workhorse back going foward.
  24. Even McD's clapping game has been lackluster this year, i need to see some real vigorous aggressive clapping again soon or it's definately time to throw the towel on the season..
