  1. Here we go, another bum gets cut and we got a "should we" thread. Real question to the OP...why would we or should we have interest in Crabtree? We already got rid of a WR who cant separate, is slow, and on the down side of his career. We don't need a KB clone, we need real WR talent. I mean, Ravens need WR help and just cut him after one season. So if he isnt good enough for a team who needs help at WR then why is he someone we need to consider signing? PLEASE NO WASHED UP RETREAD...this is a resounding NO
  2. Not sure why it needed a new thread to discuss what was already being discussed in the other thread...but... I don't think much punishment, if any, will come from the NFL nor should it. Its a minor case, misdemeanor to be exact, and he was a client, not an involved party to the business. Best part of this is not what punishment he will get, its all the humiliation he and the Pats will face with memes and jokes about this.
  3. Yeah, that's why I said he really started changing that in the second half of the season. He was doing more of that before he got hurt (which was from a hit in the pocket I might add).
  4. Here is the thing about that...this "concern" is understandable, its just not actually the threat a lot of people assume it to be. I went back and looked at all the running QBs to look for major injuries that came from running with the ball, and you will be surprised how few there are. The most notable is Culpepper who took a freak hit on an 18 yard run. People blame that injury on the downfall of Culpepper, but people forget that was his first year without Moss and they started 2-5 as Culpepper came crashing down to earth after Moss left. In the 7 seasons leading up to the injury, he only had 2 really good seasons, one involved throwing to Carter and Moss in 2000, and the other still had Moss in 2004. Even RG3 blew his knee out in the backfield untouched trying to pick up a fumbled snap. He should not have even been in that game, and its why Redskins are blamed for ruining his career because the let him play with an existing knee sprain and a big brace when they should have sat their young star and let him heal properly. But overall, most these QB's known to be dangerous runners didn't have a lot of injuries on the run, and most came from big hits in the pocket where a QB is most vulnerable. In todays game especially, QB's have so many options while running to avoid the contact and players are even more scared to hit them too. I really don't see Allen running as something to be overly concerned about. He is an oak tree out there, deceptively fast and as the season wore on seemed to stop playing like a LB and was smarter with avoiding the contact. For me, I am more concerned about the massive shots he keeps taking in the pocket, like even on the 75 year strike to Foster against Jax, then I am of him getting hurt while scrambling for a big gain. Not saying he cant get hurt running, but odds are higher he will get hurt in the pocket if we cant protect him better. NOTE: He does have to watch himself more while trying to always lay big blocks for our RB's as he has been embarrassing defenders running, stiff arming, and blocking...so these defenders are licking their chops when he is out running as a blocker to lay a big hit given its safer since he is no longer a "passer" in that situation.
  5. Big risers to watch: DK Metcalf - WR: He will be consensus top WR after draft and first WR taken (top 15). Oshane Ximines - Edge: will official have risen from 3rd/4th round projection to a 2nd rounder who could sneak into the first. Potential Faller: Marquise Brown - (he will fall) The injury won’t keep him from being ready by training camp, but not being able to compete at combine is going to allow some other WRs to creep up ahead of him on draft boards.
  6. Hence the use of the word "Ceiling" And honestly, the whole inaccuracy thing is repeated without context so much and its not really a fair thing to say without knowing the whole story. He never committed to football in HS, hence why he wasnt recruited. He played at a JC first. He then played at Wyoming. So let's not overlook he has never at any point had really good coaching and has spent most of his development time as a Raw prospect under mediocre or worse coaching at every level of football he has played before the NFL. This kid really responds to better coaching too, just look at the huge strides he made during draft process with Jordan last year and how much he elevated his game in the 4 weeks sitting while hurt. Additionally, he has never played with any real talent in college or the NFL. HIs WR's in college were awful and let him down all the time. His OL was awful too. Every time that team was on the field against a decent school they were grossly out matched talent wise. Steve Young looked terrible for the Bucs until he got to the 49ers and became a top 10 (IMO top 5) all time great QB. It can not be overlooked the lack of personnel around him. QB is important, but football is a team sport and pretty hard for a QB to overcome no weapons and no pass protection. The inaccuracy thing is a media narrative that is strictly rooted in stat sheet checking that no one can get away from now. Yet, on the field, this kids accuracy this year was no where near as bad as it was made out to be. His final comp % is misleading and is loaded with drops, great passes overturned by penalty, and receiver miscommunications. And it was clear just how much KB starting was holding Allen back as he really found his groove even more once they cut him. So for me, I don't see an accuracy issue outside of the typical things that come with any rookie QB. This kid is no longer going to have the accuracy knock on him after the 2019 season once people see how well he plays with actual talent around him. Better pass protection, better targets and improved run game around him is going to be night and day. Thats my opinion at least, but I am supremely confident in that opinion.
  7. Wasnt so much comparing arm strength as I was style of play. Downfield threat, very dangerous runner. But yes, Elway is also a good comparison, but Young was a better runner than Elway.
  8. For comparison fun: Lamar Jackson: Ceiling: Michael Vick. Josh Allen: Ceiling: Steve Young. I keep saying that the QB Allen most compares to IMO is Steve Young. I think he is going to be a feared passer and a feared scrambler just like Young was.
  9. Thats too low. If you look at the games Allen played after coming back from injury and project that out to a full season he would already have a similar stat line for passing and rushing yards. And that was with a weak group of receivers and a bad OL as a Rookie QB. I think Allen will eclipse 4000 yards passing this year. With his passing numbers up, I am not sure he will average the 62.5 yards rushing per game it will take tot get to 1000 yards rushing, so I know he can easily get to 1000 yards, but I don't expect him to have quite that many. My prediction is 4000 yards passing, 700 yards rushing and I do think he can and will get into the near 38 combined TD range. Im expecting 10 or so just from rushing and then can easily see him put up another 25-30 passing TD's. That may seem like unlikely to some, but I feel pretty strongly he will get to or at least flirt with these numbers this next season.
  10. Again, that story only quotes the same tweet from a nobody. Never did Bush or Poyers mistress mention Anonion Brown. Every single story I can find quotes the same single tweet from a nobody, no actual media or confirmation of alleged Antonio Brown connection.
  11. Still no evidence the Poyer thing is real. It’s literally one random comment on a tweet from a nobody. Every reference is just a repeat quote of the same tweet from a nobody. Nothing from anyone involved has ever mentioned it, commented on it, etc. No news on it other than low end media sites repeating same unsubstantiated tweet from a random person on Twitter. Im highly skeptical this was ever a real story.
  12. I’ve predicted AB will get traded for a 2nd. This article polled some NFL execs who said his value today is likely a 3rd. I doubt he gets traded for just a 3rd, but just shows why I don’t think he will fetch as some people think he will. I still think it will be for a 2nd. https://nfltraderumors.co/steelers-may-only-be-able-to-get-3rd-rd-pick-for-antonio-brown-right-now/
  13. One person on twitter asked "What happened". Someone replied saying she slept with AB and he cheated with someone else. But other than that one tweet, there is not a single other mention of AB ever by anyone involved. No story, no rant, no comments, nothing from anyone. And these girls were going at it hard in social media, yet never did anyone connected to the story mention Antonio Brown, just this one reply in some Tweet chain. Now, that tweet keeps getting repeated here and on the internet, but I cant find a single thing that actually suggests this really happened. I mean its the equivalent of me commenting on there and saying Rachel also slept with me just after the wedding. Which she did, in my mind. So, the fact nothing has actually come out suggesting this was accurate, I am finding it hard to believe it actually happened. Especially when his wife and his mistress were going at it hard in social media the whole time. Thats why I am asking, can anyone find anything other than some random dudes comment on some random tweet chain that even remotely suggests this happened? So until then, I will remain skeptical this event ever even happened.
  14. But thats just it. This stems from a single random tweet by a nobody. Thats it. Every other mention are people repeating the same single tweet. There is no other source, no follow up, no spill over, no public dispute, no media coverage, nothing. Just one single tweet that people here and on the internet repeat. Can anyone find anything outside a source thats just quoting this single tweet from a nobody?
  15. Curious, is this Poyer - His Wife - Brown triangle been proven true? Or is this just internet gossip/rumor? All I kind find is that sole source of this is one random person on Twitter tweeting this accusation. Literally every single mention of it after is just repeating this one tweet. Has anyone been able to find anything credible to it? I mean this was never really talked about outside a handful of people on internet repeating the one tweet.
  16. One thing not getting enough attention in the Jesse James interest is that he is also considered a very good run and pass blocker. Pros: Huge target, soft hands, good receiver, very good blocker, and young and still developing Cons: Quick, but lacks top end speed. Honestly, there are a lot more Pros than Cons about this kid and reason to like this signing if we get him. Still love me some Hockenson, but of all the FA TE's, this is the one I prefer. Cameron Brate jumps up there too if he is a cap casualty due to OJ Howard.
  17. Funny, a week ago I was starting to sour on the idea because AB just couldn’t stop self destructing in social media. Now a week later after its died down, I’m back to wanting him again HA. I can’t help but wonder if Bills are one of the 3 that called.
  18. Kelce only averaged 10 ypc this year. Jesse averaged 14.1 ypc this year. Only 4 TEs with at least 30 receptions averaged more ypc this year. Kelce didnt get as many chunk plays as people think. He was just wide open constantly for non stop first downs. And we honestly don’t need chunk plays from the TE. Getting 5 to 12 yards all day equals an unstoppable offense and constant first downs and Redzone dominance. Again my comments were about the desire for the TE, not saying Jesse is necessarily the guy. However, I do like Jesse and his potential, but my comments weren’t specific to him.
  19. Hahaha yeah I posted it cuz I thought it was funny. But title of thread is just the same title of the link. So technically not misleading, just accurate title of the link I shared hehe
  20. Agree with most of this, however one counter point I would add regarding not being part of Allen’s strength. Allen is a threat throw a 75 yard TD strike every single second he is on the field. We already have deep threat Foster. Adding another deep threat on the outside this offseason (FA, trade, or draft) is going to put a lot of pressure on the defense to cover the outside guys and especially protect the deep ball. That means extra attention from the Safeties and the middle of the field is left to be exploited by a TE who is a receiving threat. So I actually think the TE is going to be a lethal weapon like Kelce was for Mahomes. They had to cover guys like Hill and Sammy, play watch the RB out of the backfield allowing Kelce so mismatches and open areas in the zone. But like you said it takes the right TE. I do like Jesse upside potential, but like you, the guy I most covet is Hockenson. I would also love to find a way to get Cameron Brate who could be had according to rumors with OJ Howard being the starter if we don’t draft Hockenson.
  21. I wasn’t saying it was, I was responding to people downplaying the TE position in general
  22. Day 3 pick is where I think he is projected
