Kipers predictions for last year Round 1
Alphadawg7 replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes he is an entertainer like Skip Bayless or Stephen A. Smith...not a guy with a track record of accuracy. If you find entertainment value in him, great, thats his job. If you look to him for more accurate projections and insight, he's not very good at that compared to others even though he has a god complex about his own opinions like Stephen A. Smith. And you dont have to tell me the bolded, I proclaim that all the time. GMs are wrong more than they are right...thats because its impossible to accurately predict the future at a high rate of success. However, Kiper is no where near the realm of accuracy of successful GM's, yet he blasts them and blasts them hard when they pick a player Kiper doesn't agree with despite the fact those GM's know a massive amount more than Kiper does about Football, player projections and the players themselves. Kiper has to review the entire college football program...GMs and Scouts spend substantial amounts of more time analyzing specific players they believe will specifically fit into that teams plans, schemes, and philosophy. So they have a lot more insight when they pick a specific player than Kiper. So once again, the reason Kiper gets so much flack is that he projects this god complex about his opinion over those who are paid a lot of money to know more than him about football, the draft, and the players. He never accepts any accountability for how wrong he is so frequently, never apologizes to any teams he blasted that prove their pick was the right choice over his. He just keeps going like he's never been wrong. Kipers only value is to help casual fans know some names they wouldnt really know if not for people like him. However, there are more likable and more accurate sources for the same information out there. Just like sports show hosts Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith...they are entertainment value for those who find their schtick entertaining...but if you want more accurate assessments, more grounded opinions (not rooted in click bait antics), and a deeper discussion of sports there are better choices out there than those two buffoons. -

Kiper is terrible at that too. He has a long history of ripping teams who pass on guys he says they should take then takes no accountability when said player goes on to be a total bust. He does this year after year, and it’s why he has about as much respect around the NFL as Skip Bayless. All mocks are impossible, but it’s the god complex Kiper has about himself and his opinion that make him such a blow hard. McShay and Mayock don’t get anywhere near the same blow back, and Mayock had enough respect of his analytical abilities that he got a REAL NFL job as a GM now. If Kiper was even half as good as he thinks he is at projecting players, then teams would have been offering him jobs for years. Instead he is seen as more of a clown across the league like Skip Bayless is. -

Kipers success rate is about as bad as they come. If Skip Bayless knocked up Stephen A. Smith at the NFL Draft, Mel Kiper would be their love baby. -
It doesn't look just like him to me, again check his Instagram link I posted. Yes it could be him, but his recent photos dont look anything as massive as he allegedly looks here. And there is no way he just did a quick roid regimine before he is about to get constantly tested. So its either a misleading angle that is exaggerating his size, or mistaken identity IMO.
-
Photo is misleading, he's a good size guy like you said, but there are plenty of recent pictures of him on his IG and he's not nearly as big as the pic suggests. I am still not convinced thats even him. I mean the 2nd guy from the right looks like LeSean McCoy but its not him either. Here is a link to his IG...I mean these are recent shots and he looks more like Andre Johnson than David Boston. https://www.instagram.com/dk_metcalf14/?hl=en

It's an excellent and deep class. People falsely call it a "weak" class over one simple reason...there isn't a WR that is projected to be drafted top 10 by useless mock drafters. But who cares, the best WRs in the NFL now and in the past were mostly drafted outside the top 10. People fixate on a position being strong or weak in a draft based on whether someone from that position is a top 10 graded player. If not, they call the whole class weak. But this is one of the best WR classes we have had in a long time. Just because one guy from the class isnt a guaranteed top 10 pick doesn't mean the whole group is weak. This is a great year for us to be in the market for WR's because we will have a lot of options in rounds 1 and 2, not to mention there will be some talented guys likely still there in the 3rd and 4th too. Its really deep.

They said that about Vick, who was LIGHT YEARRRRRRSSSSS worse. Everything was fine. SIGN HUNT! People act like he beat her or something. He made very little contact...no where near the level of Ray Rice or Zeke, or Tyreek Hill, etc etc. Was it excusable, no absolutely not, it was definitely a bad mistake. But, its also not unforgivable if he learns from this mistake and grows as a person. This isnt something he can't "comeback" from.

What do you want to see this offseason: TRADES
Alphadawg7 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not think there is going to be any trades...however, if I had a wish list, grabbing an Elite WR would be it in either Julio, AJ, or Brown. But I really do not expect Beane to do this given this is such a DEEP draft at WR, and Beane has on many occasions stated that he believes in building through the draft. He covets those picks and the cap space, so really doubt he makes a splashy move at WR via trade. I am not even expecting him to trade someone off our team to get more picks. They already have 10 picks, and if Washington trade down happens, that could be 11 or 12 picks. Thats a lot of players to draft, so if he somehow acquired even more picks via trade, then I would expect him to be aggressive in trading up at some point during the draft in spots to grab a player he covets with some of the assets. Like maybe trade back up into the bottom of the first to grab someone like Risner, Hockenson, Fant, one of the many WR's, etc. -

TRADE DOWN with Washington, pick up extra 2nd. #15 - TJ Hockenson, TE #40 - Metcalf/Harry/Deebo/Butler, WR (whoever their top WR on board is still when they pick) #46 - Oshane Ximines, EDGE Then grab a RB like Love or Henderson in the 3rd/4th round. If we DONT trade down with Washington, I would try and trade back up into the 2nd to grab Ximines using our 3rd and one of our 4ths to do so. I think this kid is going to be a stud. -
What do you want to see this offseason: Free Agency
Alphadawg7 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sign 3 starting offensive lineman. Center, Guard, Tackle. Sign Adam Humphries, WR Resign Jordan Phillips, DT If we DONT trade down with Washington, then I would sign a TE too like James or Harris. If we are trading down, then I would use one of our then three picks in first 2 rounds to draft a TE instead of Free Agency. -
Cuts to add an additional 6 Million
Alphadawg7 replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you entirely missed my point and also fail to realize how your reply makes even less sense than your OP. 1. We have plenty of space to pursue any Free Agents they want to pursue. 2. You’re not REALLY saving $6m when you have to spend $6m or more to replace the guys you just cut to save $6m. 3. You realize the roster is 52 players? And not all 52 players are starters right? You have some lower end players, raw young players, etc on every roster. Cutting low end players doesn’t save you money because you’re gonna pay a similar amount or more to replace them. So you ONLY cut these guys if you find an upgrade, it does nothing to increase cap space. Cutting these 5 might actually cost us cap space. -

Question: Do people realize that if we cut people to free up $$$ we them have to spend the same money, maybe more, to now fill those roster spots? So how does this free up $6m in cap space if we just use it to fill the very holes created? We do not need the extra cap space this year, we have plenty. They should, and will, cut players based on what’s best for the roster, not because of we need more “cap space” going into free agency. Especially when it comes to the inexpensive players. -
I don’t know if he gets away from Denver or not, just was using the chart provided and the $15 Honestly, the chart is very skewed and worthless. Humphries isn’t going to be as cheap as this chart suggests for example where it has him in the cheapest category. He should have been in the $3 category at least.
-
This is pretty clear to me: $5 - Paradis, Center $4 - Saffold, Guard $4 - Donovan, OT $1 - Humphries, WR $1- Jordan, DT This is a slam dunk. Completely overhaul the OL with quality vets, get Josh Allen his version of Kupp or Edelman in Humphries, and keep Jordan to shore up depth on the DL. NOW DRAFT: (trade down with Washington and grab extra 2nd) #15 - T.J. Hockenson, TE. #40 - Hakeem Butler, WR (Whoever is best WR on board) #46 - Oshane Ximines, EDGE #74 - Marquise Brown, WR #105 - Darrell Henderson, RB #125 - BPA rest of draft. BOOM! Bills make deep playoff push in 2019. #AlphaIsGMofTheYear
