  1. Bears paid market price, none of the WR's signed for more than was predicted for them.
  2. Still disagree with all of this. All of this is over exaggerated, and nothing Ramsey said can be taken seriously, he says everyone is trash and Allen already shoved Ramseys foot into Ramseys mouth.
  3. But this isn't correct. Why do people on the board keep throwing this false statement out there? It was widely reported and also confirmed by McD in a press conference that the "plan" going into the 3rd preseason game was to start ALLEN week 1. That was when there was 3 QBs still here. They had their hand forced a little bit when Allen and the offense got overwhelmed the 3rd game, but the intention was to start Allen NOT Peterman. So ultimately, they didn't start Peterman because they felt he was a good starter, they started Peterman to sit Allen a little longer to make sure he was ready and he was ALWAYS going to start at some point early in the season. But fans here keep spinning this as if McD decided Peterman was a franchise QB and turned the franchise over to him. And the only reason we kept him over AJM was because no one offered us an asset for Peterman, and the Raiders foolishly offered us a 5th and they took it considering they were going to cut one of the two anyway and NP outplayed AJM anyway in preseason. And no coach ever goes out on Sundays and tries to tank. McD is going to try and win every single game, no matter how good the roster is or isnt. They knew this was going to be a rebuilding season, and both Beane and McD said that. And our teams biggest struggles were mostly with NP and DA, so injuries contributed heavily to several of those really bad weeks. I respect your opinion, but I cant see how any can look at McD and Beane and think they look bad. They broke the 17 year drought with a below average roster. They got rid of bad contracts or players who didn't fit the future plans. They drafted very well grabbing impactful starters in Tre and Milano, managed to grab 2 first round picks without giving up any future picks to land our QB and MLB to anchor both sides of the ball, and found value still in the draft after in guys like Taron and Phillips who look promising themselves. Not to mention guys like Levi and Gaines who show potential too. They found a gem in UDFA and other teams practice squad players. They weren't afraid to cut bait on a trade that didn't work and cut KB to make way for the younger players. And most importantly, Beane fixed the cap a year earlier than he projected while also grabbing a few extra draft picks this year too. I mean how is anyone upset with this? Drafting well, clearing out cap space, adding extra picks, finding value in UDFA and PS players, etc...I am quite pleased with the direction of this team. We got a top D right now with a young QB that is exciting and there is a lot to be excited about.
  4. Fair enough. Yeah, I won't be rooting for bad things on Sunday, but certainly prefer a loss on the scoreboard, could impact our draft position by as much as 6 to 8 spots depending what happens in other games.
  5. I still firmly disagree with this. Why would he retire than come to Buffalo? If he wanted to retire, he wouldn't be trying to get out of TB. Retirement comment makes no sense. And most people see Allen as an exciting upward trending QB. FANS and FANS alone have absurd expectations of a rookie. NFL players, coaches, and GM's are realistic and understand he is a rookie on a talentless offense and have seen plenty to be excited about.
  6. Yeah, I wasnt saying hes a target of Bills, I was addressing the comment that "DeSean would never come here" which is false IMO. Doesn't mean Bills want him, but if they did, I feel he would be interested in us.
  7. I agree he's not worth big bucks or over paying. But we are literally one of the best fits for him, he doesn't mind cold weather, and he wants to be a relevant part of an offense that utilizes his best skills in the deep ball. We are literally one of the best fits for him. Again, not saying he is best fit for Bills plans, but I can't see him not being interested in the Bills if they called.
  8. Keep in mind, there is a big difference in rooting for a loss and wanting a loss.
  9. Thats not true, why do people always say this? He wants to be a factor in an offense, Buffalo has a huge need at WR. We have a monster armed QB who loves throwing deep on a team that leads the NFL in deep shots. He played in this kind of weather in Philly and loved playing there. I am not saying we must go get him, but to say he would never come here makes no sense. Im not saying we are his "preferred" destination, but there is no reason to suggest he would never consider Buffalo or come here. In fact, we are quite easily one of the better landing spots for him. Doesn't mean he is the best target for us, but we are one of the better fits for him in terms of opportunity, cap space, and deep ball game which is his bread and butter.
  10. Being honest...a loss where the game was fun to watch with Allen having some nice moments. Josh is just a lot of fun to watch, so I will enjoy that part of the game. But a loss would be more valuable to this team this offseason, there are a lot of teams bunched up in the standings. We are currently in a tie for 7th, so not sure if we would pick 7th or 8th officially (although shows us at 7). However, a win could and most likely would drop us out of the the 10 and as far down as 13th. And Giants and Lions only have 1 less win. So if we lose and they won, we could also move up another spot or two possibly to as high as 5th with a loss. So a win or loss could be the difference in picking as high as 5th or as low as 13th (depending on other outcomes and what the tie breakers would be). Thats a big spread...give me the loss, its too important to our draft slotting.
  11. Are you suggesting the team we fielded this year was their attempt at being a good team? LOL Some of you guys need to understand how to separate fielding a team and building a team. The team on the field this year, especially the offense, is not even close to the finished product. I mean its literally the beginning of rebuilding and what they FIELDED under the circumstances, not what they BUILT.. Some of you act like this was their best effort at building a contender. They were in cap hell, Beane fixed it a year faster than he predicted. They had guys they got rid of after having been around them in McD's first year. They had 2 OL retire they had thought would be here. They went out and got a rookie QB and a second first rounder in Edmunds to groom into being the QB of the defense for years too. I just dont understand how so many fans are so out of touch with reality this season. This was NEVER the end product this year, EVERYTHING they did was to build on for the future to build a real contender, not some 9 win team hoping to make playoffs again on tie breaker for the next 5 years. This next year is now about building this franchise to contend regularly. They have a playoff caliber defense and a young rookie QB. They will begin adding pieces around Allen to help build his success, and judging by McD and Beane actions thus far, I expect a heavy investment in FA/Draft/both on the OL to help protect the kid and get the run game going again to help take pressure off Josh. Additionally some more weapons are certainly coming in at WR and probably TE and maybe RB too.
  12. Well lucky for us then that next year is only year TWO of the 3 year plan. This will only be Beanes second draft. McD first year he was stuck with Rex and Whaleys roster. This was the first actual year of the rebuild where they tore out the pieces the were getting us no where and fixed the cap. Its amazing how out of touch some of you are with the realities and facts of this team.
  13. Man I hate this comment which is spewed all the time around here. Stop. This regime has been together one year. What happened the previous 2 decades has literally zero relevancy. This regime is building THEIR team. Who cares about anything before them. Its utterly pointless to keep wallowing in that self pity and negativity as if THIS team has been struggling. THIS team under McD has made the playoffs 1 out of 2 years. THIS regime went out and got a QB to try and build around. THIS regime has cleared the cap out to bring in better pieces to build a contender. THIS regime got rid of many past mistakes. Get over the past people, its irrelevant. THIS is the FIRST dedicated year to the rebuild. And the team is moving a good direction with a defense good enough for the playoffs and a young QB to build around.
  14. This is a more fair stance. But to be equally fair, you can’t say that and also ignore the good additions they brought in too via FA and draft. No GM in history has a .1000 batting average in signings, and while I agree the Star signing hasn’t proved to be worth it yet, the Murphy one can easily be rectified this year as they have outs in his contract, so not a big problem if they don’t want to keep him. Plus, the Star contract isn’t going to hold us back, we have plenty of cap room, so it’s not as bad as it seems. But those OL are not just some JAG players. We lost two pro bowl OL and didn’t have cap room to fill those spots with even competent players. I mean we are starting guys on the OL who are not even good backups. You can’t run the ball or protect your QB when you have poor rotational blockers up front who would struggle to even make other rosters as a backup.
  15. Yup. Plus, Better WRs than Anderson got traded for a 4th many times. He may not even get a 4th, could be a 5th with some kind of kicker that could turn into a 4th. He’s been a sporadic producer. Yet somehow he is still twice as good as any WR on the Bills ha...sad but true. And why is the OP citing Khalil Mack (on defense) and then asking about our offense lol? If we traded Tre White he would fetch at least a first, and probably more. Young emerging top end corner on a rookie contract would fetch quite a bit. And I guarantee that if we were to try and trade Josh Allen he would fetch more than we paid for him right now.
  16. This is false. I mean every word of this is false. It’s amazing to me this mythological false narrative fans have with a “fuzzy” memory to say the least. I see it repeated around here so much and it literally makes no sense. WR - Woods left as a FA on his own to go back home to play before Beane was a Buffalo Bill. Goodwin left as a FA and NO ONE here except me and a couple other people wanted to keep him. Watkins was not going to be resigned and was going to be lost for nothing and Beane got a pretty good return for a guy who somehow makes $16m a year yet hasn’t had a 1000 yard season but once 5 years ago. TE - Clay was already here before this regime and on a big contract. We already had a ton of dead cap space and he was still (coming into this season) useful as he’s also a good blocker. RB - This was never considered an issue coming into the season, and run game struggles have a lot, and I mean a lot, to do with the OL being so bad at blocking. I mean there are few holes. QB - How is this a self inflicted problem? We were never going anywhere with Tyrod, we needed to draft a rookie to try and find a franchise QB we can TRULY contend with. This is NOT a problem, QB has been a huge bright spot this year with Allen as his future looks very bright. You cannot fill every hole every year. We couldn’t spend heavy in agree Agency last year with Beane in process of fixing the cap mess he inherited (which he has and a year faster than he thought it would take). We can’t fill every hole in a draft either. I mean the last two drafts they have done quite well, but you only have so many picks. Now they have the D good enough to contend and our franchise QB in place, and did all that while also completely fixing the cap and picking up a few extra draft picks this year too.
  17. Sorry Bill, I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I didn’t mean anything negative or that you were negatively biased towards him, just meant you’re going to more objective on your critiques rather than heavier on the optimism. OP was talking about how he sees him more favorably than you. So was pointing out, that the difference was he was looking from more optimism glasses while you are more grounded in objectively analyzing him week to week. And certainly a very fair and reasonable place to be too.
  18. I agree a million percent with this...well said. Like I said earlier, I called this during the week that if Josh has a tough game in NE the haters will come out hard and fast and ignore all the positives of the last 4 weeks.
  19. A week ago, Allen was considered widely by many as the 2nd most impressive rookie QB. Now after a tough week in NE in a game NE must win, suddenly he sucks and Darnold is god? This is the fundamental issue with this board, too many people make NEW concrete declarations every week based on one game. If Allen smokes Dolphins he will be god again...its incredibly annoying. This kids career is not going to be impacted by a rough game on the road in NE today. In fact, he will learn a lot more from him mistakes than successes right now. This is the time to put them on tape to study. The weekly over reaction to good and bad things every week around here is out of control.
  20. All good, but there are a lot of critics who bring it on themselves, you have to admit that. Some of these guys are over the top negative and its rooted to hating the pick, not what Allen is doing on the field. See, you are at least acknowledging there has been positive, while many refuse to acknowledge it and cherry pick a stat to prove he sucks and is a bust. I mean there was a thread today about replacing him already next year as if the kid hasn’t earned the right to be the unquestioned starter yet for his second year.
  21. Honestly did not see the “Allen/Peterman = Kelly/Reich” thread. Talk about an insult to Reich lol... But the MVP thread was more about enthusiasm than a declaration, at least how I took it. I don’t really see an issue with enthusiasm about the future, not like they are making concrete declarations of what he IS, just some people excited about what they believe he will become. Other People are calling him a bust now though. And honestly it’s possible for Allen to be in those convos next year. Guys like Goff, Wentz, Carr and Mahomes all were in those convos 2nd year and most struggled as a rookie. So is it a “lock” he will be, of course not, but this team has a lot of good bones around it similar to Rams and Bears during their QBs rookie years where they both struggled. If we get Allen the right help this year, it’s not unreasonable to think he could take a big leap next year.
  22. No wasn’t me. I was originally not interested in Josh at all when the season ended last year. Through the draft process he won me over and going into the draft I had Mayfield #1 (as I did all CFB season really) and Allen #2 with darnold just behind him. I wanted nothing to do with Rosen unless he fell to us without trading up. So Allen won me over before draft and has continued to win me over since. He’s got work to do, but kid has shown a LOT to be excited about. Can’t wait to see him with a full offseason as starter, season of experience, and more help around him.
  23. Yes, but you act like I tear down any criticisms. The only people I was “killing” as you claimed were the ones spewing non sense. Look at my posting history, I have said MANY times it’s totally fair to criticize, be skeptical, or not be sold on Josh. He has a lot of work to do. At the same time though, it’s ridiculous to condemn the kid and proclaim him a bust like several posters here keep trying to do. Just as it’s ridiculous for anyone to claim him to be a finished product. But honestly, I don’t see a single person saying he’s there yet, I do see threads full of optimism, and what’s wrong with that? Some are over the top sure, but none claim he’s a pro bowler now unlike those claiming he IS a bust now.
  24. You weren’t the one I meant to respond to, I was scrolling on phone and replied to wrong one. Which is why i was talking about the dropped TDs. My bad
  25. Come on, you know there is a ton of non sense out there. I even called this earlier this week. I said watch, as soon as Josh has a hiccup the hater crowd will come out swinging and ignore all the positives and go back to the “see he is a bust” stance. I mean just look at some of the posts and threads on the board right now. Its totally fair to be skeptical, not sold, etc. But there are people who hated his pick on draft night that work over time to both prove he will be and even already a bust. Yet there is no one proclaiming hes a success and a finished product. So sorry, anyone who makes any conclusive statement, good or bad, right now on Allens future is a complete fool. And if you can’t wrap your mind around that then I don’t know what to tell you.
