  1. Um yes it is...its 100% true, accurate and factual. There is only one death in question which occurred in 2017 involving the death of an 11 month year old boy. Some try to tie cannabis as an accidental overdose, but its highly debated in the medical community to be the cause the death by many medical professionals.
  2. I think the highest we can draft is 5th if I am not mistaken. And the lowest we can draft is 13th. Right now it shows us in a tie with TB for 7th and us having the tie breaker and picking 7th. If we lose, we will maybe pick 5th, 6th, or 7th depending on if either or both of the teams ahead of us lose and who would then win those tie breakers. Now if they both lose and so do we, I am not sure where we pick because we would be in a tie with them for 5th and not sure what the tie breaker would look like. So it’s possible that they both have tie breaker over us and 7th is actually highest we can pick. Same if we win. Record wise, 13th would be lowest, but again tie breakers come up and could pick a little lower like 10 through 12 again depending on how other teams do and what the tie breaker would determine. Bottom line, if we lose we won’t pick any worse than 7th. If we win, we will pick in double digits and could be as low as 13th. Could be as much as an 8 slot swing between winning and losing (depending on other teams too and who has tie breaker advantages).
  3. Fair point. And admittedly, my opinion on Metcalf is based on the assumption the neck injury will not be of concern moving forward. I also assume that teams will have a good idea about it once the draft gets here through the full off season due diligence. So yeah, if something comes up in due diligence that suggests it could be an issue then a first is a risky bet and he probably falls a bit. But personally, the discussion so far has been it’s not a long term concern, so at this stage I’m taking that at face value until I hear otherwise. Admittedly, it would be great if other teams had some concerns and he fell to the 2nd for us to grab him and lower both our risk and investment. But as of right now, I still think come draft time he’s going to be the top WR on board on most teams boards and likely is one of the first 2 WRs drafted.
  4. Not sure why you’re so annoyed, literally validated your opinion twice when you clarified it. Just don’t agree with it and said why. No biggie lol
  5. Not sure why people think it’s crazy, there are multiple rumors of him being a candidate at different places. Not like it’s TSW rumors. Doesn’t mean he gets offered a job, but there seems to be multiple reports that have him on some teams lists of possible candidates. Personally, I fully expect he will be here next year. Then he would become a hot candidate for the 2020 season if Allen and a revamped offense start making some noise next year.
  6. Lol, it’s all good man, and I already said your skepticism or concern was reasonable as your explained it 2 posts ago and that my posts to you were about your previous conclusive statements. Just found irony in your last post where you worded it in a contradictory way. And for the record, Beane has brought in 3 young WRs from draft and UDFA...Ray Ray, Foster and Proehl. He also added McKenzie mid season. So he’s added 2 contributing WRs in one off season despite not yet investing heavy in the position. So sorry, but your conclusive statement that he sucks at it and spin of he has sucked so far is not accurate. His ability to scout WRs is still unknown for the most part. But...He found value and our current best WR while using almost no assets of value to do so. He’s already doing better than most before he’s really paid the position any attention.
  7. Ha, so you say you never said conclusively yet follow that up with a conclusive statement he sucks at it.
  8. Its totally fair to be skeptical or nervous about their ability to scout WR's. What I addressed is that you were talking conclusively that Beane sucks at it and I was addressing the fact that there really isnt a body of work to make that statement. He has only been a GM in the NFL for one draft, and in that draft they addressed additional needs with their higher picks. We won't know what Beane can do with the WR group until this offseason where he and McD have both been clear that they know they need to address it. So, we will see what they do with cap space and draft picks in terms of WR this year.
  9. I dont care if you want to get into 2017 or not, because it's irrelevant. Beane was a member of the Carolina Panthers when we drafted in 2017, he had literally zero to do with Zay. So stop mentioning Zay as some way to discredit Beane. Its utterly ridiculous to talk about trading up for Zay and Beane at the same time. And even so, you guys act like Zay was some scrub prospect when he wasn't. I mean its so easy to go back and say this and that, but on draft night, you dont know the future. And on draft night, Zay was NOT a reach, he was the best WR on most peoples boards still. But again, it does NOT matter as Beane was not a member of the Buffalo Bills when that pick happened. So Beane has been here ONE draft where we used our PREMIUM picks for a QB, LB, DB, and DT...guess you expect us to find the next Antonio Brown in the late rounds or Beane sucks at drafting WRs right? lol.. I am not saying he is great at scouting WR's...I am saying we really have no idea because we haven't seen Beane YET go out and prioritize WR as we FIRST had to get a QB. We will see what Beane can do this year as he knows and stated its a major priority this year. if he swings and misses this year on bringing in more talent, then sure pile on him about WR's. But we didn't have the luxury of drafting or spending money on FA's this past offseason. Yet people keep acting like the product on the field was their "finished product". There is a MAJOR difference in fielding a team and building a team...and they added some building blocks while also having to field some other guys at other positions because you cant rebuild an entire rosters holes in one draft.
  10. Lol, where do people come up with this stuff. How is Beane "very poor" at scouting WR's? When has he shown himself to be bad at scouting WRs, I mean he has been here ONE draft and its the ONLY draft in his career he was the GM of. Zay was not drafted by Beane who was a member of the panthers at the time Zay was drafted. They found Foster in UDFA this year and pounced on McKenzie quickly. His highest position in Carolina was assistant GM, and he worked his way up to that. He wasn't the one pulling all the triggers on draft day, so we have no idea how he scouts WR's and wasnt in that role when KB was drafted. Yes they traded for Coleman, but it was only a 7th to see if a fresh start could tap into his potential. I love taking that chance on a guy who was just recently a first round pick and needing a fresh start. Its a low risk chance with high reward potential. And the best thing about Beane, he didn't try and make something work that wasnt just because he used a draft pick to acquire. He didn't let his ego keep him from making what he felt was best decision. But here we go again, this board loves to build concrete conclusive statements on tiny sample sizes and presumed assumptions that aren't accurate. Beane has actually done quite well finding young talent in his short time here and also managing the draft. Its puzzling to me how so many people are so negative about him after one draft that he did pretty good in based on early results.
  11. DK Metcalf is a #1 WR prospect, and IMO the best WR prospect in this draft in terms of speed, size, and contested catches. I mean you never know at the next level, but he will be the first WR off the board IMO as he is the full package.
  12. So its ok to have a society who is drunk? Sorry, but that statement makes utterly no sense. Just because something is legal doesn't mean its now something people use all day long for one. Second, its a million times safer and less impactful than poisons like opioids. And as far as killing people...you are completely wrong and made false conclusions off a false narrative of some story you read. The 100% facts are that there is not a single recorded death in all human history in any country, state, village, tribe, etc that is attributed to cannabis use. Yet people die from drinking alcohol, eating peanuts, even drinking too much water every year...not one death ever attributed to the prolonged use of cannabis. Its literally medically impossible to even over dose from cannabis. Now, can someone make a poor decision while using cannabis like drive and die in an accident, sure, just like they can when using a Vicodin, alcohol and many other "legal" substances.. And the reason its shows up in blood toxicology tests is because its detectable for many months after use where things like alcohol and most narcotics are no longer detectable within days. It does NOT mean it was recently used or was the cause of the "accidents" as you are implying in your "findings". In fact, in legalized states cannabis related "accidents" are a minute fraction compared to drinking and distracted driving accidents (texting, eating, makeup, etc). The gap between them is massive in terms of occurrences. So sorry, cannabis is light years safer than many other legal products in terms of public danger. And its never killed anyone from the use of it in the history of the world.
  13. Yeah, I think they are going to look at BPA come draft time, especially early rounds. With 90M in cap space I fully expect us to address several of our holes in FA. They will certainly look both at offensive and defensive players come draft time, including early. Personally I think we will likely draft one of the following 4 players based on where I expect us to be picking. Ed Oliver Greedy Williams DK Metcalf Jonah Williams Combine will also be big in filtering a list down based on how players start really grading out. Guys like Greg Little, N'Keal Harry, AJ Brown, etc could also move up boards after the combine. Well we already drafted his heir last year in Harrison and also added Jordan, so not sure it means we must go Oliver, but he is certainly in play.
  14. Having a top 5 QB all time may have had something to do with that too. But salary cap hell cost them Jimmy Graham and the ability to build a defense and wasted Brees prime years. It wasn't until they made some good moves in the draft and fixed the cap were they able to get back into the playoffs and contend again. Thats not how it works, record isnt the end all be all because not everyone plays the same schedule. And HOW you are playing when the playoffs BEGIN is more important than being hot earlier in the year, and Saints right now are not playing like they were earlier in the year. So I find it hard to call them the favorite with teams like Seattle and Chicago playing so much better second half of the year to go along with teams like Rams and Cowboys too. Its as wide open as I can remember in the NFC right now. Im not saying Saints won't do it, but just saying there is a pretty diverse playing field in the NFC right now. And what's your plan...let any player walk if they over 28 years old? LMAO...yes of course you extend our safeties while they are in late 20's. The fact you think thats funny or crazy is mind boggling. And Tre White is on a 4 year deal, they can extend him in 2020 like I suggested.
  15. You mean the same Saints team that only made the playoffs twice in the 6 years before this year and four times had a losing record during that span? Salary cap hell killed that team for most of the prime years left of Brees career. And they aren't playing great right now, so not sure how they are the Super Bowl favorites when its pretty wide open at the moment. And I disagree, FA isnt about one big splash, there are plenty of value adds out there and we do have players we can spend it on like keeping our core secondary together in Hyde, Poyer, and extending Tre after next season.
  16. Congrats on a great career Kyle, a class act and and an all time great player for this team and certainly one of my faves!
  17. This isn't crazy, and I would be happy with this FA grab. Funny thing about Bell is that everyone saying no way would also freak out in excitement if he was actually a Bill. Same way people freaked out on McCoys contract then constantly raved about him when he was playing well. I dont think its crazy to sign Bell, although admittedly, I would prefer to to spend the money elsewhere because I do feel like there are some quality RB's we can bring in much cheaper in FA and the draft. But, certainly wouldn't be upset if he was a Bill. I think we are going to draft a WR, and I personally think someone like Metcalf in the first, so I doubt we sign 3 FA WRs. And the only guy I hate on your list is White. Hes useless, not even Bears fans think anything of him. I hate chasing other teams busts, especially ones made of glass. He is up there with Carlos Rogers in terms of fragile busts. Not sure if he is a FA, but someone else had him on their list in another thread and that is Adam Humphires. I would prefer him over Conley if we say signed Tyrell Williams. If we have both Tyrell and Foster, then we need some underneath guys like how Kupp is for Rams. And I think Adam is better for that. PS: Cut Zay Jones. He struggles catching the ball, but most importantly, he doesn't "win" his routes. He has been utterly owned the last weeks by his opposing DB's who have manhandled him and kept him from winning his routes. So, sorry if you can't catch or run routes, you are done in my book.
  18. As he should...you dont build a Super Bowl winner in one Free Agency. Better to spend wisely and keep adding each year. Look at the Rams, they did that at first and then went to crazy town and are in trouble long term. They are in a "you better win now" mode because the way they did contracts means they are going to be in cap hell soon enough. They went all in on a SB this year or next, but when Goff contract comes up, this team is getting gutted and they could regress heavily if they dont draft well. I have confidence in Beane finding the right mix of pieces to start contending next year and building a long term contender.
  19. Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not...but in case you aren't or someone else thinks its a real statement, I want to point out this is 100% false. I mean if it was true, then you should call the news and the heads of medicine and alert the world on this breaking news. Because as of right now, there isnt a single recorded death in any country, state, tribe, island, etc in all of recorded human history attributed to an "overdose" of cannabis. Its actually scientifically and medically impossible to "overdose" smoking weed. The amount of weed you would have to smoke/ingest in a very short period of time is so substantial, that you would die of things like oxygen deprivation long long long before you would overdose from the weed itself.
  20. I don't know if it will or won't affect CTE, but I know it works on a number of things that traditional medicine doesn't work on. Doctors at UCLA Medical that I know who work on breast cancer research say they call marijuana "The Cancer Killer" because they literally watch it kill cancer cells regularly. They looked me right in the eye and said 100% for sure, cannabis was going to cure cancer. I also have a close friend whose young son would have 20+ seizures a day and had little functional brain development as a result. Despite exceptional medical care and trying everything, it was only cannabis that helped. Within 1 hour of his first administration of cannabis treatment, his eyes already had more focus in it and his personally and brain function completely improved. He went from having 20+ seizures a day most of his young life, to instantly not having a seizure for more than 2 weeks after he started cannabis treatment. And now rarely haves them after over a year of treatment. My ex girlfriends Uncle had an inoperable massive brain tumor. There was nothing they could do for him, and they gave him 6 months to live. He tried what is called "Rick Simpsons Oil", also known as "Phoenix Tears" in some parts, and not only did he not die, but his tumor continued to aggressively shrink until it was completely gone during that "6 months to live" time frame.. His doctor just called him a "miracle" rather than acknowledge what really happened. Its been 8 years now, cancer free and very much alive. A similar thing happened in a little boy name Waldo and there is a full length documentary coming out on him next year from my director friend Tommy (same director who just released the doc "The Bill Murray Stories" (which is excellent by the way). I mean I could go on and on and on about real stories of real people who have had some type of cannabis medicinal application fix, cure, or help a serious condition that traditional medicine fails at. So the NFL 100% should explore the use of cannabis to treat CTE, especially in retired players.
  21. So, you don't see any of the following as positives: Taking a below average team and winning 9 games and breaking the 17 year streak with a guy everyone here said would never play a playoff game as a starter in Tyrod. Additionally, had all the WR's get hurt to where we were starting scrubs off the street some games, not to mention the OL injuries, Tyrod injury, Clay and McCoy injuries, and secondary injuries all to key players. McD still somehow got this team to win 9 games, and had Zay not screwed up the final play week 2, we would have won 10. Beane said it would take him 2 full offseason to fix the cap, he did it in just over 1. Some teams takes years to accomplish this. Had back to back strong drafts finding quality starters, elite starters, and guys loaded with potential up and down the draft. Getting a premium pick for Tyrod when this board said he was only worth a case of beer. Managing to move up the draft WITHOUT giving up future picks, especially future first rounders while somehow trading up multiple times in the first round. Got rid of guys who either didn't fit the culture and future or were not going to be able to be resigned and getting good value back for each of them. Managed to rebuild our defense from bottom 5 to a top 5 unit quickly. Found some quality contributors in rookie UDFA and off other teams PS. I mean Foster is looking like a potential high quality #2 WR or better if he can keep improving. Set the foundation for the future with that top 5 D, our QB already in place, a few extra picks (to draft or use to move around draft to get guys they covet), and $90m in cap space. So what are all the gripes? Let me see if I can cover it all... "Got rid of everyone so our offense was a joke". I hear this one a LOT...and its false. It is completely false. Woods and Goodwin left on their own, and that was also before Beane was here. The only WR they got rid of was Sammy, and they got rid of him because they were never going to be able to resign him to a deal they were comfortable with and managed to get a 2nd round pick and quality player who contributed to us making the playoffs...which we did of course without Sammy. I mean Sammy is making $16m a year yet hasn't broke 1000 yards in 4 years. They traded Glenn, who was underperforming to his deal big time due to injury and decline. Was a good move as well as it helped us get the QB they coveted, and I would MUCH rather have Allen plus our first round pick this year then to have NOT traded Glenn and had to throw in this years first to move up to as high as 7. This is what people dont understand, had we NOT traded Glenn we would have had to 100% include this years first to move up for a QB. They traded Tryod, and this doest even need explaining. It was clear we were not going to truly contend with him, and we some how had Beane the Magician get Cleveland to give us the first pick in the 3rd round for a guy most assumed we would cut or would only fetch a 5th at best given we were going after a new QB anyway. "Signed Star to a bad contract" - Is it really that bad? We have $90m in cap space, and most of what Star doesn't show up on stat sheets. We are a top defense already this year, and this includes periods where Allen was hurt and our offense kept the defense on the field most the game. So is this that big of a deal where it negates everything positive? No. "Wasted a 3rd on Kelvin" - No we didn't, we literally made the playoffs BECAUSE of Kelvin, and that is the ONLY reason they traded for him. Every WR on our team was hurt and we were in think of playoff race. They went and got a guy who made plays for us that heavily contributed to a couple wins and without those plays we dont snap playoff streak. So he returned the value they invested in, and that was help us make playoffs. Then when KB fell off a cliff this year, they didn't worry about looking bad, they went ahead and cut him to make room for Foster and the younger guys. "Failed to address WR and OL" - Again, false. We had a lot of dead $ on the cap, so they didn't have a lot of financial flexibility. Coming into the season, more was expected from both KB and Zay. We lost 3 OL starters, all Pro Bowlers on the OL, and thats not easy to replace especially when you are gearing up to trade up for a QB. They again didn't have the cap room and went with some of their young guys. This year was never about "being a finished product", it was field the best team they can while in the cap situation so they can really start improving the weak areas this year. "Didn't Bring in a vet QB soon enough" - Sure, this one could have happened sooner but who really cares in the first place?. But at the same time, people completely fail to understand something about this. We had a rookie QB they were focused on working with as much as possible to get him ready. Original plan during 3rd preseason game was to start Allen week 1. That game didn't go well, so they decided to work with him more before starting him. To bring in another QB at that point means less time they have to work with Allen as its difficult to get a QB up to speed and ready to play. So its understandable that they kept their focus on Allen, especially since NP fooled a lot of people with his preseason (not me, but many people). Once they had worked with Allen a while, they decided it was time to bring in a vet. So here is where I sit...does the bottom (most of which IMHO is mostly misstated, over exaggerated, or just not as bad as people think) out weight the top positives? Its not even close in my book, the top grossly out weighs the bottom and this is why I am bullish on both McD and Beane. No GM is going to be perfect, all have more misses than hits. Same with HC's, none are perfect and make mistakes or questionable decisions all the time. But the great ones have more positives that out weigh the negatives, and so far, I feel strongly that both McD and Beane have a stronger list of positives.
  22. Things we needed and didn't need. Needed: Addition by subtraction. This team is a better football team without KB on it, period. Clay on the other hand still had value to contribute compared to KB who brought down the quality of the offense every second he was on the field. Young WR reps. We had some guys like Foster and Zay who needed more looks to see what we have and dont have for next year. Croom, while I think they like him, isnt a guy they likely see as the #1 TE next year so wasnt as critical to get Clay out of the way as it was to get rid of KB and Andre to make room for the younger talent. Croom was already seeing good reps with Clay here. Healthy TE. When KB was cut, Croom was banged up and on injury report. I even posted on here that I wonder if the decision to keep Clay had more to do with Crooms health than anything. And seeing Clay get benched once Croom was back to full health furthers that speculation IMO. Dont Need: More cap space next year. Of course, the more you have the better, but we have plenty for next year and Clays cap hit if we cut him won't matter one bit to a single move they do this offseason. Literally will be a non factor.
  23. I agree and the KB point was just one minimal example of how it’s unfair to look at his season stats to identify growth. I think everyone could and should agree that Josh is a better QB now than he was before he got hurt, and that goes beyond that stat sheet like you said. And yeah, I agree with you that Jets are a threat, but I think we have a better foundation over all as we have a playoff ready Defense and IMHO a better coaching staff and GM. Both teams though have the most importance development piece (young promising QB) and a ton of cap room. So they certainly are a team with lots of upside right now too, but I feel more confident in our ability to turn the corner than I do in theirs.
  24. I for one have no idea why anyone wants Mr. Glass, Tyler Eifert. Doesn’t matter how talented a player is, he can’t help you from the infirmary. This guy barely plays, hurt his whole career. Jesse James a much better option at TE. If you sign Tyler then we better sign James too cuz Tyler will get hurt. I also would love to sign Humphries. He would be the guy to replace Zay (who I don’t think should be on this team next year) and compliment Foster. Then either sign Tate or draft Metcalf (I prefer draft Metcalf). Our top 3 WR next year would either be Tate, Foster, Humphries (playing that Cooper Kupp type role role for us) or Metcalf, Foster, Humphries. Then add/keep a couple more depth guys (like McKenzie for ST) and we will have a nice core.
  25. Yeah, if you have a modern version of Madden like this years or last years, there are some good tools to learn the schemes. Do the practice sessions because the tutorials will actually teach you the different coverages on defenses, how to attack them, how to recognize them, etc. same on offense as it goes through different blocking assignments, route trees, running lanes, where the play should go, how to attack different coverages with routes, etc. Sounds silly, but it’s actually quite a lot of quality info and in depth coverage. Then getting to practice and see all the player movement helps hammer it home.
