Game week thread - Bills at Patriots*
transplantbillsfan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think now is the time to start repping him at what should be his permanent position moving forward at WLB to take over for Milano starting next year. Shaq Thompson still has a couple years in him at least. Draft a MLB in the middle rounds to develop and let Shaq and Bernard be our LBs. -
When did you get your pilot’s license? You seem to know a lot about this.

When he gets back to jumpin rope you'll know he's close

I agree with your observation. I think especially once we started to draft later in the rounds (because we became a good team), Beane thought, I'd still like to get a stud in the first round, but it's tough to get one out of the top 10-15, so let me take shots at guys that are young, or under-developed, etc. but who have the measurables and or potential to be turned into a stud (projects as they used to call them). Might take a couple of years to develop them, but if you hit and the player does indeed develop, you got a steal. But, unfortunately with those types of players, you will also miss on some (or they won't develop well, i.e., bigger bust rate perhaps). You could probably even include Josh and Tremaine Edmunds in that philosophy (even though they were picked earlier in the round). Then (after picking Ed #9 overall) we had Greg Rousseau, Elam, Kincaid, and Coleman (2nd round, but using our first round pick). They all kind of fall into that category a bit (even Ed was a bit of a projection based on his college position, despite being picked that high). I think that can work if you really have a feel/like for a player, but not sure that it should be the philosophy every year. Seems a little too boom or bust for my taste. Rousseau and Kincaid are very solid players, Elam did not work out, and things aren't looking great for Keon at the moment. It worked wonderfully with Josh (although he was a top 10 pick) and Tremaine is more like Rousseau/Kincaid (though he was selected mid-round, not late 1st too). I haven't paid too much attention to Tremaine since he left, but watching the Bears game on Sunday I was surprised to hear the announcer call him one of Chicago's superstars (has he been playing that well or was the announcer just glazing?). Maybe because of the Josh and Tremaine picks mostly working out (Tremaine was at least solid while here, though not spectacular), Beane felt that was the way to go. Pick guys with upside/measurables/high ceilings but who need time and development. Again, not sure if I agree with that philosophy, but I understand the thinking in it at least. Would be interesting to see if we think we'd be a better team right now had we always tried to take the safe pick in round one instead (a guy who will probably start for you, but you're pretty sure of where his ceiling is). [Not that any 1st rounder is a given with a 50/50 success/bust rate in the 1st round overall.]

Nothing insensitive with that analogy…..

With Kincaid, Buffalo is 7-1 this year....

Totally get the ‘best ability is availability’ angle but I think Kincaid is tremendously underrated when playing if anything haha Feels like he draws double teams a ton, runs the deep routes everyone wants an outside wr for, and despite only getting 30-45% ish of the snaps he has been super impactful statistically. His production on a per snap basis has been kinda insane just for illustrative purposes not trying to say he’s better than Trey McBride but McBride has 937 receiving yards on 545 routes run. Kincaid has 489 receiving yards (more than half of McBride) on only 170 routes run (31% of McBrides routes). It’s not one to one like this but just for fun if you adjust kincaid’s production up to mcbrides route total he’d have 1500+ receiving yards lol -
Okay, but why would we put humor aside? This has been brilliant. If you look closely behind Oliver, there is a small child. I’m pretty sure that video helped him with that.

There’s something different about McD this season…

I have to agree with this. Managing the roster especially in regard to key players with an eye towards the playoffs is where we’re at… almost. I think they have to kinda go all in this weekend. There’s still a chance, albeit a slim chance, that they can win the division and even be the #1 seed. The first half of the season the Bills were often said to be “playing with the food” and sleepwalking because its all about the post season. Assuming they’ve had that mentality, it has to end this weekend. This is a big game. Last week was pretty big. It allowed us to keep pace with all the other WC contenders. Plus, it put the bengals in a huge bind. They’re not eliminated but beating them goes a long way to ensuring we don’t see that offense in the playoffs. Now we get the last big game of the regular season, IMO. Get this win and they’re in a great position. -

Yeah if he'd been healthy I think they are probably the #1 seed. -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Gregg replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I bet the first home game will be a primetime game. You know how the NFL likes to showcase everything. What better way to open the new stadium than in primetime. Of course, I hope the Bills win the Super Bowl and the first game is the Thursday night game to kick off the new season but even if they don't win the Super Bowl I could see either SNF or MNF to open the new stadium. I doubt the new place opens up with a regular 1:00 game. -
I was not intending to argue. I was just agreeing.

Not my favorite look, but that game will be an ugly slugfest no matter what colors are out there. go bills -
Not a fan. Guy is high on his own farts and seems like he has zero humility. Ironic when he's built like a bulimic teenage girl. Would love to see how he does with anything other than two incredible receivers in a pass friendly scheme. Flacco and Jake f'n Browning have put up big numbers in that offense.

Different game here but didn't fans who are color blind complain a few years back when the Bills and Jets wore all red and all green game. It's very rare one team isn't wearing white. Tampa going with the old school classic looks nice. -
Oh no not a cliche attack libs have been using ad nauseam for 10 years.
-
The Dolphins are quietly playing extremely well, especially on defense. It’s not inconceivable that they could finish 10-7, while beating the Pats. They are still alive.
-
How much does that team rally around McDaniel in what could be his final game or a game that will factor into the offseason evaluation process of him. And while im not high on the possibilities of NE losing any of their two remaining divisional games… we also haven’t seen Maye in meaningful December football when it’s cold, guys are beat up and the pressure is real.

Has Josh Allen put himself back in the race for MVP this year??
