This is Palmer’s first year with the team, and all season we’ve talked about how Brady hasn’t fully utilized the receivers. Palmer has already missed eight games, and it’ll be nine if he’s out this week. If he’d been healthy, he and Allen would have had much more time to build chemistry and integrate him into the offense. I don’t think anyone would disagree that Palmer is probably our best true outside receiver when he’s available. That matters. It shouldn’t be brushed aside. This offense could use any extra spark it can get at the position, and a healthy Palmer would absolutely provide that.

I don't think he's shown he isn't capable. We got absolutely hosed on ball spotting last year in the AFCCG, and there are some pretty interesting statistical analyses demonstrating that the Chiefs get favorable penalty calls specifically in the postseason. I think last year would have been the Bills getting seal clubbed by the Eagles were it not for the ball spotting shenanigans. If we get bounced out of the wild card round due to coaching blunders I'll sing a different tune.

I'd get some computer science/programming interns to make a program that you can quickly plug in what players are on the field, the down and distance, maybe even the spot of the ball, and it would give you, based on the previous games, what the most logical play the opponent will run.

It’s funny the first time the Bills met the Patriots the game was critical. If we have won that we would likely be cruising towards winning division and maybe first seed in the AFC This game is actually less important. Our regular season date is mostly sealed whether we win or lose. Having said that if we lose it will certainly seem as thought the Patriots have passed us in a single season. But the playoffs could still fix that feeling.

A shoutout to this often-forgotten gem. It was only my second Bills game ever. This is another game where the pick-six was our only touchdown. We won the game 10-7 in OT and it was a huge late-season step in ending a 5-year playoff drought in 1980.

Yes there is, and once you see it, you constantly see it. listen to their press conferences. is this Bills team good enough to win the Super Bowl? McD said “I love this team”. Beane said “yes it is”. IMO that’s McD saying the roster isn’t good enough, and Beane saying yes it is. This is just one example. But when you listen to McDs and Beanes response to the same questions- you see a disconnect. Years ago you often saw McD and Beane together. You never see them together now.

Palmer has not shown anything that makes me think he is a difference maker. Of course Brown matters, but I think he may play.

Yes, and maybe McDermott, too, in the case of Babich and Brady. Babich might turn out to be a terrific coordinator, but it's pretty clear he wasn't ready yet to take over play calling duties. And Brady.... Let's just say I hope he lands a head-coaching job. In that sense, I'm totally in his corner. If he does move on, I really, really hope McDermott looks outside the organization for a replacement. He should be able to attract top candidates.

Palmer makes a difference because of the next man up principal. With him there, Coleman and Shavers see less snaps. He is better than those two. Were things worse? Sure. But let's not act like other than Oliver no one else that's missing or likely to be matters. Heck, I didn't even mention above Spencer Brown may well miss this week too. Does he matter? Overall, yes. It seemed like earlier this season we would lose 2 players for every one we got back. Now it seems we are getting 2 back for every one we lose. But there's still a LOT of guys that will miss this week. And that includes guys on season ending IR.

Taron in the divisional round during the Covid year. I must have watched that play 200 times from different angles. Honorable mention: Drayton Florence against NE in 2011. I've never cried in the stadium except for that play. It was absolutely bonkers in that place.
