You guys all remember when Benford got knocked silly in KC last year and we didn’t have anybody else, right?

An experienced six-time Pro Bowl CB with a SB ring literally dropped into our laps and we’re complaining?

He’s not going to see the field unless he has to, but I’d rather it be Darius Slay than Ja’Marcus Ingram or Dane Jackson in a spot like that.

yea, a lot of folks picturing sundays lineup and not 3rd quarter of the AFCCG when someone goes down

also a lot of folks seem to think we only had 1 waiver claim and chose him over all those starting DEs and WRs that were cut and being passed on waivers today

Lets be honest about this. Despite a strong game Sunday, Benford has not been good this season. White is washed. And Hairston is built like Kate Moss.

CB absolutely is a need.

White has played pretty well recently..

I think the real issue is bigger than the Slay move. The complaining is a microcosm of Beane's roster construction, Cap nightmare, contract extensions, various acquisitions, etc...Its not just about one move. Hope that helps you understand the mindset of many frustrated Bills fans.

I mean, ya, we all feel that way to a degree but it is where it is and this is where we are. As much as people on the outside looking in seem to be enjoying being proven correct, its just low hanging fruit. Id rather he try and do whats possible instead of doubling down on his initial read that everything is OK. That might even be easier given how he stuck his head out in April. Instead he's seemingly eaten the perverbial crow. Im not saying you feel this way as you are simply trying to explain and while I appreciate it - I understand why people do it. But these 'fans' are just taking the low hanging fruit. Its the same ones that would be lining up for a kick at the can if NE signed Slay and then theyd be pissed he sat on his hands while a competitor signed a vet with an edge who's won before and can provide depth. I get its a message board, its just a shame it inadvertently screams yelling at coulds/get off my lawn/complain to complain football fans. You'll never make everyone happy... the shtick just gets old after a while

Benford started out the season like a guy who had a concussion hangover from last season but his game has been picking up. Against Tampa Bay he traveled with star rookie Emeka Ugboka who only managed 5 catches for 40 yards on 9 targets.

The next week he traveled with Nico Collins who had just 3 catches for 55 yards.

Of course against the Steelers he had a great game against both the pass and the run and deservedly won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award with the scoop and score, the INT, and holding DK Metcalf to 3 catches for 32 yards on 5 targets.

If you're being honest, Benford's been playing great lately and is peaking at the right time.

Also Tre's had a solid season and Hairston has most Bills fans excited by his incredible athleticism.

The acquisition of Slay gives the Bills excellent depth at a position where they've historically had epidemic injuries in the playoffs.

One can only hope…regardless of how some here love him Cam Lewis is garbage

In weeks 9 and 10 playing for Taron Johnson, Cam played very well and looked better than Taron had looked all season to that point.

And if a WR1 or a DE became available, we'd be in on that too. But the best WR available lately was Brandin Cooks and we got him too.

If you have a chance to upgrade anywhere at this point in the season, you do it. Slay is an upgrade over Ingram and puts us in a much safer position if we take an injury at CB.

Amen. You're trying to improve everywhere, all the time.

He was running those patterns for the receivers. It looks like his film study is exceptional. He knew what the receivers were doing before they were doing it.

What's the over/under on a halftime retirement?

One half.

Pff…

what do they know?

And what do the Eagles know.
A really knowledgeable poster said that Slay was washed, so I’m sticking with that.

That’s nothing.  I remember a few years ago, a baseball player got traded during a game to the opponent so he just crossed the field to the other dugout.

I'm still trying to figure out the 6 degrees of separation on this guy.........i know it just has to lead back to the Panthers somehow.

I will not rest until i have my flow charts and pie graphs in order.

Stay tuned

Seems it has happened more than once. I also remember there being one years ago, but this one was this past summer...

'We won ... I guess': Caballero starts game in one dugout, ends it in the other
