There is time for Josh but Beane is wasting it. And Elway played in 3 before he turned 30.

I am assuming that Stafford may retire in a year or two; that opens up a starting QB position in LA;  our QB is from California and is married to an actress who lives in LA.  You can connect the dots.

Thanks - we're all astute enough to see the possibility.

Stream of consciousness posting is back? I’m here for it! Here’s my try.

Jalen Hurts plays for the Eagles

I like the color green.

Farms can have green land.

Green land is for sale.

I’m concerned Pegula is going to sell the team.

If Pegs wants to frack Philadelphia,I doubt anyone would complain. Was that your point?

If you want to go looking for things to worry about, you’ll be too busy to notice any of the good stuff right in front of us.

NFC West is a very tough division - SF and Seattle are always in the mix. Currently the three teams are the 2, 5 & 7 and I would expect all three to make it to the postseason this year.

I don't see the JA to the Rams storyline as being a dead cert. McVay is always under speculation as to whether he wants to give up the grind of coaching.

Stafford I think had 12 full years in Detroit and he currently looks good and why wouldn't you want to keep playing for a successful franchise?

I can understand the notion that Josh would want to be coached by McVay but I don't think relocating to LA just for marriage/practical purposes is a realistic thing. Hailee is making movies and she wouldn't be in LA full time I'd assume.

I wish Stafford plays at least another 5 years, that wouldn't be shocking to me.

He's saying that Josh might leave for LA and replace Stafford instead  of sticking around for a rebuild here since his family and wife are in California.

I don't care if he "wants" to hang around or not.  He's under contract at $60,000,000 per.  Put on your helmet and get out there.

That's not how any of this works. If he walks into McDermott's office and demands a trade, he's traded.

Elway was 37 when he won his first SB

And if you remember, like late Payton Manning, he had little to do with them

What are you “just saying”?

I'm saying the Rams will go for it (ie; Matt Stafford trade) (again) and trade for Josh and Cali Josh/Hailee/baby will want it to happen, especially if everything Josh has with the organization is torn down and its a complete rebuild with new coaches/schemes, rosters.   That is what I am saying.    Clear enough?

Something tells me he’ll end up being moved to the Rams to replace a retiring Stafford and win a ring just as Stafford did. California kid, has some media/acting chops, Hollywood wifey while the Bills fade back into mediocrity. Sincerely hope I can eat these words. But for now? I just can’t.

He won't want to go anywhere else after watching the Bills Love Story movie.

On the same day....

LARAMIE — Josh Allen is coming back to Wyoming.

It’s been seven years since No. 17 last stepped onto the field at War Memorial Stadium, and he’ll return Saturday to be honored as the first Wyoming Cowboys football player to have his jersey retired.

Josh's willingness to stay for a rebuild will certainly be influenced by his family.

I think about if they start having kids, too. Josh is very family oriented and will probably want to be around family for that. Alot can change when it comes to women and children.

But on the other side of the coin, Josh is a competitor like we've never seen before. He's loyal like a golden retriever and I could also see him making it a point to never leave Buffalo because he started here and has always said he wasnt leaving.

It's an interesting thing to consider. Things can change, man. There's alot of ins and outs and what have you.

This is a fair discussion topic.  I hope Allen stays and the Bills do not have to engage in a compete rebuild.  A reloading even if it meant changes at HC & GM could work for all involved.

At the same time it would be a real shame if Allen never got a chance to play in and win a Super Bowl.  Marino at least got to play in a Super Bowl.

The rest of this season will have a huge impact on whether Allen is still a Buffalo Bill when he turns 33.  If the Bills can rebound and go on a run and make it to the divisional round or better yet the AFC Championship game then a re-load would likely work without changing the HC & GM.  On the other hand if the Bills implode and a rebuild is needed and Pegula doesn't change the HC & GM then Allen would be wise to start making plans for his departure this off season.

Josh Allen and the players don't view it the way fans do. He feels just as responsible as anyone for losses, if not more so. He has been around sports enough to know that you win some and you lose some. Not to mention that Keon Coleman was hand picked by Allen! So was Ken Dorsey, and Allen has been a staunch supporter of Joe Brady as well.

So, why would Allen feel any kind of animosity toward the organization that has given him everything he wants, including getting rid of Diggs and taking on 30 million in dead cap, because his relationship soured on with him and Diggs became a nagging distraction?

Josh Allen has nothing but love for Buffalo, the organization, Beane, and McDermott. Players almost universally support their coaches.

It's very possible that Beane is let go, McDermott asks Daboll to come back and take over the offense and McDermott reworks the D. The team would go get a Waddle or someone similar in the off-season and also draft a WR and maybe even sign a #2 type guy in free agency.

The topic in national sports media is Allen needs weapons and everyone is dunking on Beane especially for his bullying of the WGR guys last summer for daring to question his WR room.

He's going to take the fall. Nobody is really blaming McDermott as much. I think agents and "camps" are feeding info out there to create a narrative.

McDermott is a rock solid human being (not that Beane isn't) that is easy to rally behind. I also have heard from a few places that he actually does want a more open attacking offense and us frustrated with what they have at WR. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Beane also seems like a good guy and all, but he has unfortunately failed the team far moreso than McDermott has.

As great as JA17 has been i will always remember this season for one thing in particular.  I took for granted that Allen could simply overcome any offensive deficiency. But this season it’s painfully clear that with lousy WRs, injured TE1, and the Oline slightly regressed from last season… even Josh can’t mask it.

No one player can lift a team above mediocrity if the roster talent is below average.  Marino, who IMO was the greatest pure passing QB in NFL history, went 8-8, 6-10, 8-8 & another 8-8 in seasons where he started every game for the Dolphins.

This might actually work as long as McD allows Daboll the freedom to run the O.  For Daboll it would be a great stepping stone to another HC job and a new GM can go about reorienting the Bills FA & Draft priority's towards the offense.

Of course all of this would be a moot point if the Bills went on a run and made the Super Bowl this season.

I resisted entering this thread because the topic makes me chippy

I posted about this before and was mocked at the insinuation and my opinion which is this

I doubt with every fiber in my being that Josh Allen will retire as anything but a Buffalo Bill.

Sacrilege to think otherwise!

lol honestly though Just NO, he can't leave to get a ring somewhere else. I just don't buy it. at all

he has way too tight an investment in this community and he is a Bills LIFER

I cant see it at all. If he ever left to play elsewhere  I'd be heartbroken
