I was dumping on him in the first half. Mayfield looked so much more composed early on and Josh stepped up big-time. 1 Quote

The problem is the sustainability. It’s be nice if hero ball was the “break glass incase of energency” move not the bread and butter. Today it waa needed at times, so I give Brady the nod especially second half for getting open guys the ball. Hopefully we can scheme up some success while saving Allen for the moments we truly need a play abs not ride him into the ground all game Quote

It really shouldn't be this complicated He had a bad 1st half, and if Allen and the offense had not woken up and turned it on in the 2nd half that would have been the game narrative. We should not pretend that first half and slow start did not happen. I am super glad they did wake up and there seems to be more answers for Allen with Coleman out and Palmer and Davis in the lineup. We also should be thankfull for the D limiting the Bucs to 3 when they were on the doorstep early when Allen threw that Int on our own 5 and also glad they got some timely turnovers although they were getting run through most of the game. Not sure how they are going to fix that, maybe some guys getting healthier? I think he and this offense have come out way too flat most of this season outside of a few games where the running game was cooking early allowing them to settle into control of the game. The execution has been poor, OL protection shakey, Allen's timing and passes have been off, and the offense seems stressed when teams have found a way to stuff our running game early. I was encouraged by how many open receivers I saw early even if Allen was not seeing the field very well then. Perhaps Daboll had the right idea to design a few early QB runs and let Allen pop the pads a bit. Used to really help him shake off the rust, quell the "yips", and get his head into the flow of the game. May help the OL wake up too with some read-option or pin and pull type runs where they have to lead block for their boy. A happy comfortable Josh is a much more productive Josh so let him do the things he needs to do early to get rolling. 2 Quote
zow2 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Great victory, but our D truly is 3rd rate. as we expected getting Keon out of there allowed others to excel and they got the RBs involved in passing game. Gabe is not great but he’s a pro and makes himself available to Allen in a pinch. Even on a windy day they let Allen chuck it. Ray Davis and the KO returns too. 4 for 158. huge. led to scores 3 Quote

FLFan Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 5 minutes ago, Comebackkid said: that was an all time elite bi polar game. D players have such a hard time getting off of blocks. awareness on the field is horid a times. so many times they fight it out to get in a really advantageous position only to give it up. Josh Allen at times Brilliant....other times so wtf its mind boggling. He's really reaching that age where the cerebal part comes into play yet...so many times its just not there. He got it done today though regardless. Cole Bishop, 1st half i was wondering if he was going to have a down game but he stepped up nicely. D line.. not sure if we just werent trying to get pressure but for most of the game Baker could sit back there and do what he wanted. Cook, defenately not a great game rushing but the O-line did him zero favors today and compared to what the bucs were doing with play calling to rack up rushing yards our game plan paled in comparison. He excelled when called on to catch the ball though. Ray Davis. did they inject him with some nitrous or what? dude looked Fast on returnes and helped the Bills greatly today. Run D. As I alluded to in the first mention, horrid but consistant. Having teams that can run and throw along with a qb who can show the threat of run kills them. Along with really bad situational awareness at times. Poyer...Slow and late at times but he saved a lot of plays with good reads. Brady.... Better. A couple times he actually sent out a few players running deep and amazingly things opened up..who would have thought. Still not sold but hey... 44 points and a win isnt the time to complain. Hardman.... ok other than being soley responsible for -7 points and i guessing that injuries are contagious in Buffalo because he didnt make it through one game with out going out injured. It’s disappointing that he got hurt and the fumble sucked, but he had a great return and he had inside position on that bomb that was barely overthrown. That play was very important in establishing their offense today. I hope he is back soon Quote

It’s only the second time they have done that this season. The other was against the Chiefs. 1 Quote

Hopefully it was something simple like cramps 1 Quote

RunTheBall Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago The best part of this W is that Josh woke up halfway through the 3rd quarter and played lights out. Let’s hope it carries over. In the first 2.5 quarters, he was hesitant, double and triple clutching, had happy feet, indecisive and made horrible decisions, and his accuracy was ass except for the deep shot to Shavers. Just look at the 4th down play Ty Johnson was WIDE open for 20 yards and he forced it to Knox He was a completely different player starting halfway through the 3rd. Saw the field better, made better decisions, zipped in passes, and ran like the alien he is. Brady called a better game, guys were open all day, Josh wasn’t seeing them or taking them at first. If we have Alien Allen at the helm, we are still a force to be reckoned with. 3 Quote
