For some players football is a means to an end. Handing someone a few million dollars gives them opportunities they never had. 
 

obviously it’s myopic on their part to not put full effort into getting a second contract but if they don’t truly love the game 🤷‍♂️

I would hope if a player is detrimental to a successful offense, he’d be on the bench.  I believe yesterday showed how good we are without him and have no issue benching him moving forward.

 

If all a dude can do is “contested catches”, then he needs to be the 5th receiver used in the endzone or spread plays every so often. Honestly don’t believe he’s that good at contested catches anyways.

He gets bodied too easily, I would rather give a contested catch to Shavers.

I wonder if any of the veteran receivers have tried to take him in under their wings?  Seems like an immature, disorganized mess right now in need of a stern mentor type that can keep him in line.  Kind of a bummer if we don't have anyone in his position group keeping an eye on him.

Yes true but those games were dominated by our rushing offense.  Our passing offense has been pretty bad most of the year.  

They were able to open it up more because they aren't completely limited outside.

I don’t disagree at all, I’m just a guy who works with numbers all day and there are two sides to every stat, sometimes three.

Funny, when this thread first popped up on Saturday I was under the impression that Keon was being benched due to his play on the field and that the coaches had game-planned for an offense without him. However, we later learned that this was due to a punishment based on him having missed a team meeting on Friday.

 

That begs the question: was he being phased out of the offense anyway -- or (especially, given that the infraction occurred AFTER the offensive game-plan against the Bucs had already been installed) was he originally going to play a major role in the offense? If it is the latter, kudos to the players and coaches for stepping up and running a highly productive offense with last-minute changes.

one thing is for sure....if/when he sees the field again.....he better really work out there.  

Frankly I don't want him out there unless one of the guys who played yesterday gets hurt

once he gets his head right i absolutely want to see him out there again 

 

we need more weapons and it doesnt seem like they're very interested in going out and getting one so coleman developing has to be a priority

As we said yesterday, Keon will be active again soon but it will be due to WR injuries more than anyone is dying to see him play.   

 

Already today, Samuel and Hardman are not practicing.  They are banged up.  Joshua Palmer is limited.

Coleman needs to be inactive until he starts taking his commitments to the team seriously. 

Then he needs to remain on the bench until he earns playing time over the other guys.  

 

The only thing he offers is size, and he doesn't even know how to use it properly.  All his other abilities (speed, hands, route running) are average or below average.  If he can't learn how to be physical and outmuscle corners for the ball, he's never going to make it in this league.

 

Tyrell Shavers has stepped up with every opportunity he's been given.  Even yesterday, he led the team in receiving and caught a nice touchdown.  If I'm the Bills, he's one of the starting WRs until he proves he doesn't belong there.
