With pass rushing contracts now in the mid 40s, there’s no way he re-signs for less than Rousseau ($19M AAV). Oh I agree. But what he will command on the open market will likely price him out of Buffalo. I think if he enjoys being here as much as he's letting on he's going to have to take a discount. They can get creative with some void years or guaranteeing a much higher percentage of his contract. But at the end of the day we probably can't afford what some teams can. Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The good news is, he already has over $155M in career earnings. And while I'm always supportive of players milking every dollar out of the NFL while they can, I'm also hoping that maybe he loves it here so much he gives us a home-team discount. Beane needs to get him re-signed. 3 Quote
bigK14094 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Unfortunately, he will be gone. Economics will dictate that as cap availability will be a problem. He will get twice what the Bills can pay. Its a pleasure to see him for one season through. He has good attitude, and likes the organization. He is not going to pass on an extra 10-15 million to enjoy the Bills culture. His brother and he have been driven by their father to maximize their pro income. Nick even sat out the back end of his last college season OSU so he didn't risk injury. Folks from that culture will be dollar driven. I am not complaining, it is their right to optimize in their favor, just observing what seems to be going on. So, JB, give all you have this year. You are likely one and done here ala Terrill Owens a generation ago. Quote
thewookie1 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago My guess is Beane gives Bosa a number we can work with and lets him look around with the door open to a return. Then depending on what's out there he'll make a decision. If a bottom dweller offers him 25mil a year and the Bills offer 15mil; you can't be entirely blind to the money or the situation you would be in. 1 Quote
Rubes Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I’m just hoping he makes it through practice this week, much less the entire season, the way things have been going. Quote

Maybe a series for the rest of the games. We can beat the rest without him. We need him for the games mentioned. Quote
SCBills Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Bosa genuinely seems like he’d take a discount to stay here if both sides want to make it work. Hes so much different than I expected and fits in so well here. Beyond the football field, he makes it sound like this organization is great for his overall quality of life. 1 Quote
0017 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Joey B 👃 nose when he is happy! And he is happy!! Love it! Go Bills! 2 Quote
nuklz2594 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago tbh...from what I have read, I think he will sign an accomidationg, team friendly contract. did big city living in my younger years, overrated when you get older. Quote
Shortchaz Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago He’s got a nose for the quarterback…. (sorry 🤣) Quote
Generic_Bills_Fan Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 2 hours ago, BuffaloBillyG said: Here's the rub. He's playing well enough that he's going to likely see a nice contract if he hits FA. Probably more than we will offer. So that leaves us with either paying a handsome contract or letting him walk and getting a possible 3rd or 4th round comp pick. If it were me, I'd sign him. Something like a 2 year 26M deal. But Beane likes pick and especially if he makes some moves today or tomorrow, I could easily see him letting Bosa walk to recoup picks. If he’s this happy maybe he takes something a bit team friendly…I’m hoping that’s the case at least 😂 1 Quote

This is what I expect, he doesn't need the money, I think he wants to play where he loves playing and they love him. My prediction is he retires a Bill, or at least finishes out his best years here. 1 Quote

The Firebaugh Kid Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Many of us laughed at this signing. Dudes been a force of nature. Quote
BillsFan130 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Think of it from Bosas side as well.. Every time he played the chiefs at home when he was on the chargers, they usually lost, and the crowd was probably over half chief fans. Now he's in Buffalo in one of the most electric environments, and they come away with a huge win. Got to be a night and day difference 1 1 Quote
AKC Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I’d seen enough of his games as a Charger to realize he was wildly overused by them and put in bad situations. Too many times they’d push him back on the field when he was out of steam but he always gave effort. I thought they may have permanently damaged him but I’m happily being proven wrong by him this season. Quote

And not in the "coach lets us do what we want" way, either. It's a fantastic situation for being perpetually ahead of the game in FA acquisitions. At this point it's happened enough times that I can't dismiss it as "player is being nice looking at his next contract" Amari Cooper is notorious for being reserved and he still cracked smiles and made some jokes. If you're a journeyman vet who isn't getting the kinds of offers you expect, the Bills are an attractive offer to take a short term deal for your resume. This would have been inconceivable during the Drought Quote
ColoradoBills Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I'm of the opinion that Bosa will re-sign. 1 Quote
PoundingDog Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Guys like Bosa, an old established guy jettisoned by his old team due to uneven pay scale and output while still not having that ring, will be prime targets of the Bills. I love what he did so far, but not super attached. Who knows, in 2 years, it may indeed be Simmons, or Nick Bosa (who gets a good word from his brother). Reputation goes around that Bills have a culture and have enough winning to resurrect one's career for that last payday. If your are Beane and McDermott, building that pipeline is more important than extending these guys to an expensive contract. I know this runs counter to the attachment we, as fans, to the players of our team; but strategy wise, it is the way to go. Quote
