This thread is the perfect example of the telephone game.

This morning Jeremy Fowler wrote "Several teams are believed to be in the receiver market, most notably the Steelers and possibly the Broncos and Bills."

Possibly, as in speculation.

This tweet took this quote and ran with it "The Steelers, Broncos, and Bills are all in the market for Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers"

The thread title makes it sound as if the Bills are "all in"

It's like what GM's will often tell fans when they get interviewed and asked about stuff like this..."don't believe much of what you read or hear, some of it is true but most of it isn't".

Yeah my money is on the Steelers.

The aggressive move they made to acquire a safety immediately after finding out Elliot would be injured is a sign they know they have to start gaining control of their team and change the direction as Baltimore and Cinci are still in the race for that division after the GB loss.

Meyers isn’t going to hurt them financially, they have a surplus of draft picks next year and they aren’t looking for a #1 guy but rather a complimentary piece to DK.

Bet this deal gets done within the next 48.

He would be a waste of another draft pick and just mixed into the JAG bowl with Palmer, Moore, Coleman & Samuel.

Hard pass.

Yeah, I’ve always like Meyers, but he doesn’t add an element we don’t already have

As @Kirby Jackson so aptly put it, Meyers is the final boss of the JAGs.

Maybe it’s me but I don’t know why the Broncos are in on a WR. Franklin has been pretty good in year 2. Sutton is Sutton and Mims and the rest of the crew is solid maybe I’m overestimating them.

If we are trading for a WR and can’t get a big guy I would prefer Shahid over Meyers but neither are going to move the needle enough to make that big of a difference.

According to what site you use the Bills have somewhere between 1.7 and 2.5 million in cap space.   Meyers would cost 5.8 million over the last 9 games of the season.   I dont think this is a move they can make without impacting the rest of the roster.

For the same reason we allocate tons of assets to defensive lineman. Head coaches prioritize the side of the ball that's their specialty.

The “Just a gi” sweepstakes

I watch how often people post overlook the actual problem with this team to CONSTANTLY complain about the offense. Even though the offense is the only reason why we are even good….Then I see the names that people want to add to our WR group and it all makes sense. Guys that aren’t better than what we have to fix a problem that’s on the other side of the ball. It’s all checking out.

When you want a Lambo (Brian Thomas) but purchasing from the Honda Civic parking lot (Meyers)

When you want something that’s not available, you have to settle.  Cohen addressed the BTj rumors and shot them down.

meyers can get open, too bad verticality isn’t his game.

Can he get open quick on the outside? That would be my biggest concern

He has been a slot guy

He played 31% of his snaps from the slot in 2024.  He can win on the outside.  He's just not a deep threat

Wouldn't be overly exciting but he'd be a big upgrade over Coleman. For a Day 3 pick it would be a good move, and likely the best we can do assuming Olave doesn't get traded.

This is why you don't wait until November to find a WR1..

TBD:  no one can get open!!  We have no separation on the outside.

Report:  the Bills are interested in Meyers.

TBD:  this does nothing for us.  He has no speed.

Me:  he would put Keon on the bench (when Palmer comes back) and can get open on short to intermediate routes.  He would help our pass game.  There’s no doubt.  Is he the perfect fit?  No, but which available WRs are?  Shaheed and a bunch of guys that aren’t getting traded.  Beane sucks

Meyers has been a pretty good receiver. I haven’t watched any Raiders game this year so not sure how he has looked this year. But the last two years he has been basically the 32nd WR1 in terms of yards per route run and first downs per route run. He also has played the chiefs 4 times and averages like 5 catches for 65 yards and half a touchdown in those meetings. He also played outside about 70% of the time in 2023 and 2024.

He had a slower 40 time than Keon and will be turning 29 in a few days (an age cliff for WR production in many receivers). He would just be help for this year as he is certainly better than Shavers or Moore and probably Palmer too. But if Raiders won’t take any less than a day 2 pick you walk away faster than Meyers can run.

You really think Beane is likely to draft a better player then Jacobi Myers with next year's 2nd and 3rd round picks?  Very doubtful.  Look at Landon Jackson.  LOL  And TJ Sanders may be something next year.  But that is still up in the air.  And look at Keon.  Double LOL.

Myers is a solid WR.  Something we don't have right now other than Shakir.  He is certainly worth a 3rd round pick.  And they can throw in Taron Johnson too.

They need that "surplus" of picks to make a move for a QB, just my opinion.  That was their original intent to stockpile.

They finally just got Calvin Austin healthy.  Signed MVS, I think to the P/S?  And have Roman Wilson, high pick for them last year, sitting around.

Steelers already have 2 weapons being underutilized in Jonu and Freirmuth.  I'd be surprised to see them trade for a WR --- defense is what's killing them right now.

Hondas are actually very reliable and dependable cars that last a long time. They aren't fancy or fast, but they get the job done better than most cars.

Myers has averaged 880 yards and 6 TDs per season over the last 3 years. Over the last 5 years (all but his rookie year) he has averaged 846 yards and 4 TDs per season. He's on pace for 932 yards this season. From 2020-2025, he has averaged 55.6 yards per game. If he played all 17 games each year, his career season average (not counting his rookie year) would be 946 yards per season (he's missed 11 games in 7 years---or an average of 1.5 games per year).

Not sure how interested the Bills are or if he would bring much more than what we already have (other than just another option), but I wouldn't be upset with the acquisition if made. The more good targets for Josh the better, even, or especially, if we can't trade for a stud of some type (which most teams aren't going to let go---or at least not without a hefty price tag).
