But, you gotta get to January. For the last few years we have basically had a free pass to the playoffs because of our division. That may not be the case anymore.

Sauce Gardner was the DROY in 2022.  Rare for CB's to win DROY.  Most rookie CB's struggle in their first year - adjusting to the speed of the game.

I need to see the Bills flex tonight and dominate from first whistle to last. I’m tired of their lackluster sloppy performances of late and of the renewed hype for the Chiefs and Pats. Go out there and handle business.

Agreed. Bills are playing a dangerous game.  Doesnt feel like we’ve improved last years team and we’ve been sleep walking through the first 5 games playing sloppy football.  Patriots with Vrabel and Maye are no joke.

I'd be surprised if they fill those 2 open spots.  That has Hoecht and Oji written all over it.

 

 But could also see them signing Po to active and cutting Codrington this upcoming week.

 

Definitely will see a DT elevated from P/S tonight --- extreme outside chance they decide to put Logue on 53.  But maybe.  Otherwise, likely whoever had better pracitce week from Mathis and Phillips.

I really want to see Thompson in an increased role. It was feeling like he was left for dead by the league after injuries and age but he’s been really effective. I think the defense can use a shift in physicality and I’d love to see him out there more often

Bijon is best rb in the league, their backup is a top backup in the league. I’m a little nervous for tonight coming off a bye and home.

If Bills-Chiefs is inevitable, and I tend to agree it may be, under what circumstances would you like it played?  I'd love to be like the Chiefs last season heading into the Bills-Chiefs playoff clash.  The Chiefs were the 1-seed, enjoyed a playoff bye, beat the outmatched Texans for one measly playoff win, and poof, the Chiefs were already in the AFC Championship Game.  The Bills had to beat two teams to advance to the same round, including an all-out knock-down dragout fight against the Ravens where we left the game with lots of injuries on defense.  And then we had to go to Arrowhead.  Yikes.

 

Getting the 1 seed and playoff bye does not guarantee the Super Bowl.  But it's the one thing the Bills haven't done yet under McBeane.  If McBeane is going to fail us, at least fail us in a different way this season.

 

We need to beat the Falcons tonight and get to 5-1.

It is easy to adjust to the speed when you hold them at the line to avoid them having it

Oh man - I've been saying it all week. ATL will run it tonight no doubt. And they have good WR's. Their QB is getting "it" now. This is a tougher game than vs the Pats was - and we saw what happened there.

I think our Defense is too weak to stop these up-and-coming teams that are playing tough, physical football. We need to bye to get healthy, potentially make a move for a CB or LBer. Get the suspended hopefuls back and see where the cards fall.

I don't see it this year. Tonight will tell us a LOT!

Even this isn't true. There is collective amnesia amongst Bills fans about the 2021 and 2023 regular seasons. In 2023 (two seasons ago, you know, the season where we lost to the Broncos and fired Ken Dorsey), the Blls were 6-6 after the overtime loss in Philadelphia and that NYT playoff simulator gave them just 19% odds of even making the post season. The division was out of reach, unless Miami did stupid things like losing to the Titans at home (which they did). Even at that, it took a Kadarius Toney toe and a punt return for a TD in week 18 in Miami to win the division. In 2021, the Bills were in a tailspin with blowout losses to Indianapolis at home, the wind game, and that damn Jags game. They were 7-6 after losing in Tampa, and had to win out to win the division. The Pats led the division until we beat them in week 16 (the day after Christman on Thursday Night Football, the Diggs taunting the crowd game).
