No More Whiteouts again ever in Buffalo Bills history

I had a weird feeling about it from the start. It seemed "off".

Week 8 Jets vs Bills 2011.  The Bills were 5-2 and trying to make a statement to be a solid 1st place team with half the season left.  Instead they got their butts kicked by the Jets and only won one more game that whole season.  Rex then put together a game plan that shut down the Bills offense other teams followed.  And yeah that game I remember being a white out at the stadium.

 

 

So yeah that loss was on whose ever brilliant idea it was to try this again.  Bad Karma 

It was the team/league looking to sell some cold front jerseys. Gotta get those incremental sales. 

Incidentally Penn State also had a whiteout and lost, which isn’t unusual. They have a lot of whiteout games and their record in those games is not impressive. 

Personally, I think it’s a stupid look. White flags are for surrendering. They are the polar opposite of intimidating.

What I'm not sure about is it they can be used as away uniforms also but I'm assuming the bills will want to use them at home to promote sales.

It’s cute for high school and maybe even college. It was a cheap money grab. I promise I would have worn blue to that game.

Didnt affect us losing, but I have to say as someone who has uniform blindness and doesn't GAF about color combinations or uniform minutiae - when I saw the uniforms under the lights with it reflecting off the logo and numbers and sparkly sleeves I said to my son "It looks like what some theater group would wear in a musical about a football team" .  I'm on the side the whole thing was amateurish.  The money grab to sell merchandise is one thing - but the double down white out thing was unnecessary at best for a serious fanbase which is one of the best in the NFL  IMO

Uniforms are good looking. I suspect if we’d have won, people would call for them to be the full time uni’s. Ie: Sabres goat head jerseys that people hated when they were our uniforms back in the day.

 

I will say this, saw a little on tv and they looked decent. From the upper deck, had trouble distinguishing player numbers and honestly the the buffalo on the helmets was tough to see.

History repeats itself 

It looked cool on the broadcast but it was also nothing more than a money grab. This uniform is nowhere near the identity of this team or it's fans.  They looked flat and disinterested last night on national tv.  Lose the white out....lose Mr Briteside, Knox's wedding is over.  Get back to the core of this team.

The white blended in with the grey numbers. In the game you couldn't make out anything. The helmet logo was impossible to see. It just didn't work for me.

Thats James "Big Game" Franklin.   As someone around happy valley I told a friend PSU is a slightly better Iowa, can beat the cupcakes and the lower echelon of the big 10 but rarely the big boys.

Couldn't see player numbers. Our logo on the helmet was invisible. And yes we have a losing record with white tops.  Not a fan of these money grab unis.

It was nearly impossible from the stands. Absolutely brutal. I am cool with the "rivals" concept and adding a special jersey or two, but I coudn't tell who was who presnap, or post snap. Guys had to be perfectly perpindicular to me.

Darn. I was hoping the bmBucs would wear their creamsicles for that one. But I am looking forward to the Falcons and their throwbacks against us this week.

 

I swear the uniforms for the 80s and early 90s were so much crisper. Of course, that may just be me liking the old uniforms from teams from when I grew up. Like the Seahawks yesterday. So much better looking.

Yeah, I should know better and just take the next few days away from here. The doom and gloomers win the week. But even in the loss there are positives that will go unnoticed. Third down D was good. Pass Russ was better with some aggressive blitz looks. Stopped the run and a mobile QB. And heck, Kincaid had a great night. Stuff to improve, sure. But stuff to build on as well
