This guy having pepper spray and a knife probably saved Sanchez from catching a murder charge. Fortunate for him in a way.

Truck drivers, especially those that work in urban areas, get held up all the time. They usually carry weapons of some sort. Sanchez is lucky that this guy chose pepper spray and a knife and not a gun.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but maybe the pepper spray and knife escalated a simple misunderstanding into a violent confrontation.

The other night the Seinfeld episode was on in which Elaine was dating a “bad breaker upper” dude. He was said to have been stab worthy….which according to Elaine made him MORE attractive.

Probably a mix of prescribed pills and alcohol.  Top that off with a lack of impulse control (maybe from CTE, maybe from just being a POS) and you got a powder keg of a human being.
