Davidson is already on the roster.  Have him "tryout" for the full time punter job and save the roster spot

The connection between place kicker and holder is the biggest issue with changing punters, but Prater adjusted pretty quickly when he came in on short notice to replace Bass.  I think the Bills will be OK with a new punter having 3 days to practice.

That is absurd leg strength for back then...those numbers would look pretty good even today

Sammy Baugh also played DB and led the league in Interceptions (catching them not throwing them).

When they signed Johnston, they also worked out Ryan Stonehouse and Matthew Hayball. If either of those guys kicked well, I would expect them to get picked up. If not we’ll be back into tryouts tomorrow to find another one

At this point, maybe just have Mitch Trubisky practice as the holder for figgies; he was taking snaps at it yesterday. Used to be a lot of backup QBs did the hold.
 

Johnston evidently felt he could do it and put on the brace yesterday but those endorphins wear off and then the big swelling starts from hits & hyperextension like that.
