Cowboys don't even have that ,yet they are the most valuable sports franchise in the world.

It's all about annual revenue, not quality.  NE is always in the top 5 for team generated revenue.   Pay 900 million to have access, annually to 70-80 million or more in ROI (plus the glory benefits that come with ownership....plus a guaranteed whopping ROI when you cash out your sliver of the team.

If you have the means, there simply is no more lucrative sure thing place to put your fortune.

This is exactly right. Which is why I mailed Terry $25 (mostly in buffalo nickels) for my sliver of the team. I haven't heard back yet, but once I do...it's high time to retire.

Based on those numbers, Kraft is getting $720M for an 8% stake. I did a little research. That $720M would get him 12,203,389 30-minute “massages” or 9,113,924 60-minute “massages” at, the now closed, Orchids of Asia (at least as of their most recent pricing guide).

It’s just money grab.  The minority owner wins as when they sell, they definitely make a profit. The principle meaning Kraft in this case gets cash to infuse into his team for free.  They have no power or influence.  They just shake hands and look important, but are just simple investors for a small win.   I could care less for the Bills or anyone else.

How is that team worth 9 billion right now?  I understand it's near the Boston area, but that team had zero relevance to the NFL prior to, or since Brady left

Probably has something to do with him owning his own stadium.  He doesnt have to lease it from the city.   He also made the stadium so it was its own mini city with shops restaurants and hotels.  I imagine all of those things bring in revenue for the team.

I thought the same thing, until I considered how irrelevant the Cowboys have been for several decades on the football field, yet they are the highest valued team. It’s a lot of different factors.

I believe the new minority owner is a chain of small massage parlors in Florida.

There’s no report on the terms of payment or if there are any return concessions.

It wouldn't surprise me if Brady sells his stake in the Raiders and joins Kraft with the Pats. Maybe I'm too sober...

I’ve always found it distasteful of the Davis family to let Tom Brady own them on and off the football field.

I don't get it. Does he need the money? What's the rub?

I’m guessing these owners use the equity of these teams as a piggy bank and can borrow against them for cash.  I bet 5 years ago lots of them took out loans in the 2% range and now they are looking like 7-8% range and perhaps have to sell parts off rather than take on those rates.  Could be an NFL rules thing? Idk.

Yes, in 2024 they changed the rules to let private equity own 10 per cent of a team.  That is the reason for the spate of sales of minority shares in teams.

Never a bad time to catch the Pats on the upstroke.
