YoloinOhio Posted September 19 Posted September 19 It’s true and I never got to the point where I was worried. I knew the Bills would win because they don’t lose these types of games and we have Josh and they don’t. I’m not surprised the Fish put up a good fight. But the Bills played the game Miami did for decades in foxboro, we all knew how those would end and we all knew how this one would too. this team has a lot to work on before the playoffs and that’s ok. Stack the dubs. 5 2 Quote

We were always a break of serve up IMO. When McD didn’t challenge the blantant 3rd down non catch ruled a catch, on the dolphins first drive, I suspected this game wasn’t going to be a blowout win. But just remember all of those Bills versus Patriots matchups, where we were very close to beating them, or played tight with them for most of the game, and just could never pull through and beat them. The Patriots won six Super Bowls doing that to us. We will be fine. The fact that we played so poorly at several points tonight, and shanked a kick, and still came away with a 10 point victory … speaks volume. Totally agree but the red flags on defense are real. Fixable, but real. 2 Quote

I remember paying good money for 20 point prime time Jets beat downs. It’s Thursday, it’s divisional, it’s weird. Good teams win. We can tell who bet the Bills and lost because they didn't cover while sifting through some of the negative posts. They're the ones complaining the loudest because they wanted the Bills to throw it deep & get a TD during the final offensive drive. 1 1 Quote

The Dolphins could have been the drought era Bills tonight with the massive line and the assumption that they would roll over dead. Instead they fought the whole way but made the crucial mistake at the end to lose the game. Fans build up their hopes a little, only to have it crushing back down. In the end they are more frustrated. 2006 Bills vs. New England 2007 Bills vs. Dallas So many examples 3 Quote
Dafan Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Division games always have me on edge. So many times you see great teams lose to a crappy Division team. Told multiple ppl today saying Bills win easily, that I didn't think so. A Division team...and add to it winless. Writings of an upset there. Quote
shane nelson Posted September 19 Posted September 19 In some ways I hope that you are right, Pats would use Sept/Oct almost like pre-season to determine their strengths for a Dec/Jan role. Hoping the Bills are doing the same. 1 Quote

SoMAn Posted September 19 Posted September 19 During the 20-0 Dolphins over Bills 70's, there were several games that would have had a different outcome with a ball bouncing a different direction on one or two plays. History shows 20-0, but many of those games were fairly close. It's the same for the domination by the Patriots and more recently the Chiefs. If you reviewed all the games that led up to those championships, you realize that there were a handful of plays that could have gone the other way. It's an unrealistic expectation by Bills' fans to think the Bills are going to stomp all over every opponent that is viewed as inferior. There will be games that they'll be lucky to get away with a W, and there will no doubt be an instance when they are simply having an off day and their opponent is 'on'. That's how you get upsets. It will more than likely happen at some point during the season. The key is putting it behind them and not letting in become a trend. Those are the teams that become champions. 1 1 2 Quote

billsfan89 Posted September 19 Posted September 19 I would be more concerned about letting a bad team "hang around" if this wasn't a Thursday game and a divisional game. Great teams grind out some wins esp in funkier time slots and in their own division. Now if the Bills have a tight game against NOLA at home on a Sunday I would be a little more worried. But this is the NFL most games are usually pretty tight. 1 minute ago, Royale with Cheese said: He was very out. I think his entire other foot hit out of bounds after regaining control after the bobble. I was yelling at my TV begging for a challenge. Miami didn't even rush to snap the ball. Teams have two challenges I usually am conservative with challenges in the second half or on the second challenge. But there's no reason why they shouldn't have thrown their first challenge in the first half at that. 10 hours ago, Dafan said: Division games always have me on edge. It has to be clear and obvious, and it wasn’t. This isn’t the old “what’s a catch” NFL anymore. When they showed the replay I’m glad we didn’t challenge, it would have been lost and a waste of time. SF Bills Fan Posted September 19 Posted September 19 I said the same thing last night. We'd be winning like 13-7 at the half against the Pats and the final score would be 34-13. Quote
Just in Atlanta Posted September 19 Posted September 19 The hallmark of an elite team is they win, even when they don’t play well or even when they’re outplayed. We’re in that category. 1 2 Quote

It's crazy people don't understand that week to week results mean nothing, it's how many wins you have by the end of the season and that you are playing your best football going into the playoffs. That's the only thing that matters. Not the scores or what the games looked like, or Allen not throwing downfield, or defense not getting off the field on 3rd downs this game, etc... IT DOESN'T MATTER. It's a week to week league and very little of what you do one week carries over into the next game when you are playing a different opponent with different players, a different scheme and that has different strengths and weaknesses. All that matters is stacking up "W"'s and the Bills do that better than any team in pro sports over the last 5 years save for the KC Chiefs. Edited September 19 by Big Turk 2 Quote
