Cray51 Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Honestly, I think he is actively taking a safer approach this season through two games. He is very tentative when it comes to tucking and running with the ball so far and only running when absolutely needing to. There have even been a few times where he has decided to force a throw over a 6-7 yard run, which I haven't seen from him before. He will have 1-2 plays a game where he may get some contact going, but otherwise he is being safer in my opinion through two games. Quote
blacklabel Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Stiff arm?! More like whiff arm! Josh wanted to drive that dude into the dirt so bad but fella was already well on his way to turf town when Josh swung for the fences. 1 Quote

Thought the run was great, and Romo even mentioned the wherewithal to switch the arm he was carrying the ball with to decrease the risk of a punch out. But where I cringed is where he used a stiff arm WITH HIS THROWING HAND to try to gain a few extra yards..especially around the face mask of the defender..where he could have easily jammed/broken/sprained/lacerated/dislocated finger(s) on HIS THROWING HAND. Truly appreciate the effort, but the time out of the lineup is not worth a few extra yards on the play in my opinion... Yes, you were the only one that even gave it a thought. 1 Quote
machine gun kelly Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Josh isn’t going to play his game in bubble wrap. He’s from a family of farmers, and those are tough people. They just get things done. They don’t make excuses. I love that about him. It took McD years just to get him to slide sometimes. Josh isn’t stubborn, just a sincere desire to win. Last time I checked, he has mom than double the consecutive starts as the next QB down the level. I know that’s a concern as you get to feel invincible, but he’s delivered so far. Quote

WHEN we were all starving for ANY semblance of order, quality, professionalism, intelligence, capability, etc.during the entire, endless lost years of this Millenium, I was with you. But NOW, the Bills are not, no almost never, inflicted with that stumbling, bumbling, fumbling idiocy! And they are led by a freak player- should be not be injured, will likely get to the point of being in the GOAT conversation of not just QBs… but players in NFL history! Given the prior substandard playoff performances by the D, it is normally ALL about him! Therefore, I do not want, for the sake of 2 who cares yards, taking a game/season or career ending stupid hit! Play smart 17! The Lombardi is just over the curve of the road. It is no time for a FUBAR! Quote
1st&ten Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Yes he probably should be more careful, but I do love when he trucks these guys. 2 1 Quote
Sweats Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I can't fault a player for putting on their big boy pants and wanting to make plays 1 Quote

Bruffalo Posted September 17 Posted September 17 This is one of the most nitpicky threads I've seen lately. Did he get hurt? No? Okay then. Let's move on. 1 Quote

I mean you're not wrong but this is part of JA and his game, he's a gamer and is gonna play tough no matter what Quote

Not that I don't agree with you, I just think he is a baller and will do whatever he can to get that extra yard or 20. Excellent point however! He's going to give every square inch of his body to make a play. That's never going to change over the next 3-4 years. Once his scrambling slows down, then you'll probably see him protect himself more. Quote

Man he's a football player before a QB , Special, I see your point but that was bang bang and he has to play free and go with his instincts 1 Quote
Buffalo ill Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Next thing the OP will tell Josh to do is go vegan. Quote
Buffalo Junction Posted September 18 Posted September 18 It’s what you get with a player like JA17. It’s a part of his game that’ll exist as long as his legs do. On the flipside, I would much rather he jams a finger on his throwing arm than gets horse collared or takes a shot to the knee causing permanent damage. Quote
